Remember my big news? Here it is!
If two people lay down together, without full protection, they are making a choice. Â Once the choice is made and the damage is done, there really is no going back. Â You have three choices. Â Abortion. Â Adoption. Â Parenthood. Â Regardless of the choice the woman makes in the long run, if you run and hide and cannot show some kind of empathy or support, you are a coward.
If she chooses abortion, and you decide sheâs going to just handle the emotional, physical, and financial scars on her own with that, because why should you stick around? Â Sheâs getting rid of it anyway. Â You have no more obligation here. Â Youâre wrong and youâre sick. Â Sheâs making the decision for all of you to better your lives first. Â Sheâs deciding that she is going to be ready before bringing in life.
Sheâs making a brave and selfless decision.
If she chooses to have the baby and put it up for adoption, and you canât stick around to help support her through a very stressful, emotional, and physically painful time in her life.  Possibly traumatizing.  If you think that because the child âtechnicallyâ is going to a home that isnât with their birth parents (YOU) than you have no more obligation to it, you are again wrong and sick.  Sheâs doing what she feels is best for the child.  You try carrying a new and precious life inside of you for nine months, growing attached and loving that child, and then having to give it to strangers because you just canât provide for them.  Thatâs heartbreaking.
Sheâs making a brave and selfless decision.
If she chooses to have the child and raise it.  Regardless of how you want to or do not want to be a parent, if you cannot be there for not only the woman that you made the choice to risk impregnating, if you cannot be there for your own child, you are a coward.  If you run away and hide because she is âruining both your livesâ or you believe that someone bringing up a life is âfucked up.â  You are wrong.  You are sick.
Leaving that child is the worst form of abuse you could ever imagine. Â Itâs abandonment. Maybe youâve never hit a child. Â Maybe youâve never called a child names. Â But you have left your child with the questions âwhy didnât he want me?â Â âwhy couldnât he love me?â Â âis there something wrong with me?â
You have abandoned a child that you helped create. Â Not even to mention the woman that you helped to put in this position.
Sheâs making a brave and selfless decision.
Iâve always had so much respect for single mothers. Â Iâve always imagined that it was a tough life to live, and that the immense love they have for their children is amazing.
Of course, itâs not an ideal situation, but I suppose I would rather raise a child alone than have someone who thinks that our child is such a burden to life in their life.Â
So now, Iâm deciding to tell you all, with that being said, Iâm about to enter the world of parenthood.
With the help, love and support of my family and friends, I am going to be raising a child, on my own.
Iâm going to be a single mother.
And heâs always going to just be a coward.
