favorite things about my boy Ichigo, lets go:
- wants to protect a mountainload of people; protects a mountainload of people over the course of the series
- momma’s boy, loves his baby sisters, Respects Women™.
- he’s so kind???? he gives bread to that one nameless shinigami kid bc he was tired, he convinces grimmjow not to die so that they can fight each other again (this one was actually hilarious), he heals ikkaku after fighting him, puts up with soul society’s bullshit, is tender™ with Nel even after finding out she’s with the arrancars, gives kon a chance at life even though literally no one asked him to
- he’s smart. he’s good at thinking on his feet and using his resources to put up a good fight. When he remembered uryu’s advice and tugged on the red string? When he got bankai? When he noticed Renji’s little trick during their fight in the SS arc? When he figured Gin’s sword out like 2 seconds in after fighting him? Chefs kiss sir
- he’s so good to his friends!!!! he meets rukia and he’s like “this shortcake will be my new best friend and I will commit treason for her.” He met Chad and was like “i will fight for the sake of this Big Peaceful Bro forever.” He met Ishida and was like “he is a pompous asshole and a Rival but he is shaped ambiguously and suspiciously in the form of a begrudging friend.” He met Orihime and he was like “I will willingly invade enemy territory for this cinnamon roll-shaped human bean and take six shots of cero to the chest for her” and he just??? fucking did it?? he loves his friends so much what a dork
- easily distracted; will fight ganju bc ganju got on his nerves. will fight a worm if it looks at him the wrong way. will fight god. has fought god.
- Great zanpakuto-shinigami relationship with Zangetsu tbh.
- is a good boy despite the Trauma
- funny as fuck. thought he could destroy a menos by chopping it vertically. strapped zangetsu to Uryu’s forehead. got excited with inoue about making that ball in ss arc and then immediately destroyed it. Keigo Roasts. Renji Roasts. Rukia Roasts. ISSHIN ROASTS
- he’s got orange hair. Orange. His name means strawberry. He’s got ‘15’ branded on his clothes bc pun
- he dried his own damn rain!!!!!!! he had so much growth as a character, and every time he hit rock bottom he pulled himself out of it. sure, he had help. he had mentors and friends and family supporting him and snapping him out of it, but eventually, every time he was down, HE PICKED HIMSELF UP!!!! he looked in the face of despair and fate and Bullshit and said “no❤️️”
- his damn t-shirts (special mention to ‘speaking is not communication’ – i loved her so much, Peak Fashion. could write an entire essay about that shirt)

I’d marry Byakuya in a heartbeat but Ichigo will ALWAYS be my absolute favorite character.
