AND THERES MORE IN TWO DAYS TIME
Two years ago, I was worried that no one would gaf about my silly little OC, so I didn't want to post him, or his story on AO3. I was pretty sure no one would read it, and no one would care... So imagine my shock to get THIS comment.
My silly little goat boy mattered enough to somebody for them to name themself after him.
I never expected Micah to be this impactful to anyone but me, and I'm really glad I pushed through the anxiety of no one caring about him and posted it anyway.
I'm very honored to have been a part of this person's journey, I know how important a chosen name is... and I hope the name serves you well, Micah.
Happy pride. š
Do you think Ryland ever visited one of Colt's sets once or twice, and each time every five minutes he'd get mistaken for his brother to an almost comical degree?
It became less comical for Colt the one time the stunt crew were rushing and grabbed (a very flustered) Ryland and tried to hook him onto a rig, thinking it was Colt.
The way he ran up screaming, "DAN THAT'S NOT ME, THATāS RYLAND! DO NOT DROP MY BROTHER OFF A 40-FOOT BUILDING PLEASE!"
Jody and Ryland still laugh about it. Colt still gets anxiety thinking about it
Jody got Ryland a nametag that read "Not Colt Seavers" after that
as promised, here is the work
https://archiveofourown.org/works/85765246
includes Coltland twins, QPR bloodymary and various other details
ended up being split in several pieces cause it was getting a little too long for a one shot
Oh, the complicated relationship between a girl and the shift she's only scheduled for because a coworker died...
rtte screenshot redraws Thought I was going to do more, but it's been a week, so I'll just post these for now
I have this friend and coworker, Amanda. She kept EVERYTHING running. She was cross trained in every role, she was the problem solver, if Amanda was on shift, I knew everything would be fine, cause I knew Amanda could handle ANYTHING.
And she was SO over qualified for the job, we teased her for it all the time. She had a neuroscience degree and picked up dog shit for a living, just like the rest of us. I asked her all the time "Why do you work here?' And she always answered "I like dogs more than rats."
She's been at this job for 6 years, I always joke if Amanda ever quit, the building would burn down.
Amanda died vert abruptly on Friday. Today is my first day back from work.
The building hasn't burned down.
I still think it might.
I hate this.
Amanda, I hope you know you ruined German Shepherds, and ducks, and Hello Kitty, and puppy teeth forever for me.
She took every birthday photo with her favorite client dog, Rand the Belgian Mal, for 4 years in a row. Rand's such a problem-dog, but Amanda had a huge soft spot for him.
Amanda collected puppy teeth cus she thought they were cute. Whenever a client puppy lost a tooth, she kept it. She had the funniest squealing laugh, it was so distinctive, and every time I found a puppy tooth at work, I gave it to her, and she'd do that squealing laugh. It was so infectious and cheerful.
I miss her laugh so much. I've searched every video I have of her for her laugh, and there's nothing. I just wanna hear her laugh again.
I don't know what to do with puppy teeth anymore.

They never gonna crack atp
As a trans woman, I really, really, don't appreciate people acting like they know what it was like for me growing up. Like yeah, I realize that your childhood was like that and I'm sorry that you were treated that way. But don't act like that's how it is for everyone.
I was very much seen as one of the guys growing up. I went to "boys nights" with the guys, which typically consisted of very masculine activities, I had gay cis dudes hit on me, I never once was seen as anything other than a dude.
Guys never once mistreated me, or saw me as anything other than a man. Even through University, I was seen as a man to the point where my University friends were shocked when I came out to them as a trans woman.
I was even treated as "one of the safe ones" all through high school by the girls I hung out with. I had an all female friend group that I hung out with and gossiped with, and was allowed to hang out with them in and out of school, because friendship with me never came with the possibility that I was gonna make things weird and try to fuck them. I showed no interest in dating them and treated them like any other person.
They literally called me a "Girl's guy".
So, your experience isn't universal, and I really wish people would stop acting like their trauma is standard. Because it's not.
And then there's my husband, who hated being a girl, hated femininity, was bullied by girls growing up, never had any friends aside from a few guys in high school, and was never accepted as a girl by girls.
Trans experiences aren't universal.
They truly arenāt, because I for one actually grieve the boy I used to be, even though that isnāt who I am anymore. I mourn what could have been and yet Iām excited for what is going to be. I felt fine being a boy, and was very much seen as one of the ābrosā once I finally found a friend group (even if they still treat me as one of the bros but thatās a separate matter) I personally had very little trauma surrounding my identity growing up as a young lad, even if I constantly felt out of place. Just like being trans is a spectrum, so is trauma. No oneās trauma is the same and you CANNOT presume what other people have gone through.
becoming homophobic because when two characters in a scene have the same pronouns you have to say their names one william times
finally some good advice on this post
If you want to avoid resorting to the over used "The blonde" or "The dark skinned man" or blah blah blah, use one name and attach the traits to actions instead of attaching actions to traits.
Let's say you want to have Jacob run his fingers through his boyfriend Mike's hair.
You might say, for example "He ran his fingers through his blonde hair." But that doesn't tell you WHO is doing it, and are they doing it to themselves or their partner?
So you might try instead, "Jacob ran his fingers through his hair," but now it sounds like Jacob is doing that to himself.
"Jacob ran his fingers through Mike's hair," Feels clunky and over uses names.
"He ran his fingers through Mike's hair," Is passable, but not great.
So let's try attaching traits to actions and say, "Jacob ran his fingers through the soft blonde strands." By this point in the story, your reader probably knows Jacob doesn't have blonde hair, his boyfriend does, so they know who is doing what to who, you only had to use one name, and you didnāt have to resort to calling anyone "The blonde."
"Kill your local sex offender!" Oh, you mean the guy who went streaking at his local college football game on a dare one time? That's a sex crime.
"No, I mean-"
Oh, maybe the woman who had to pee in a public park that only had pay toilets, so she tried to hide behind the bushes but got caught? Public urination is a sex crime.
"What? No, I mean-"
Oh, maybe you mean the homeless guy who had to strip down to get his clothes in the laundromat to clean them for the first time in weeks? He tried being subtle, but someone called the cops on him, and now he's on the sex offender registry for public nudity.
"Rapists and pedophiles! Kill rapists and pedophiles!"
Oh, like the trans woman who got called a pedophile groomer for helping a trans kid escape her abusive parents?
Or maybe the black man who got labeled a rapist because he came on to another man's wife, and he decided to get back at him by charging him with rape?
How about the 17 year olds who were fooling around, fully consensually, in one of their bedrooms? That's still technically underage sex and thus rape of a minor.
Oh, or maybe you're talking about the doctor who performed genital reconstructive surgery in a state that just voted to get that classified as rape?
People will do everything they can to get you convinced rape and pedophilia are the worst crimes possible, then accuse whoever they like the least of being either a rapist, a pedophile, or both, counting on you turning on them just for being accused of the crime.
"Oh, so you're saying you don't want to kill a serial rapist?"
That's exactly what I'm goddamn saying.
Once we decide a group is okay to kill, the government will do everything they can to convince you that their political enemies are either part of that group, or just as bad as that group, to get you to kill their enemies for them.
The only way out is to accept every life as worth saving.
The only way out
is to accept every
life as worth saving.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Anything you tell the government they can do to pedophiles, they will try to do to queer ppl first. Never forget that.
my favorite thing about Douxie is that he's one of the only characters in popular media that actually embodies the nature of punk, not because he's cool and edgy and beats people up with a guitar (although that is hilarious and i love that he does it in like every single fight), but because he is unrelentingly kind and empathetic. He's faced with a world that takes, and hurts, and kills what he loves. He's lived through centuries of awful events and undoubtedly experienced far too much trauma for any one person, and he chooses to be kind nonetheless. And some people might see that and just think it's funny that someone who's alternative and intimidating is one of the nicest people, but that really is what punk is about. Being kind and standing up for what you believe in.
Do yāall store food in the oven?
Yes, thatās normal
No, but itās normal to do that
Yes but Iām weird for doing it
No, thatās not normal
Trying to prove a point to my wife
We would store cast iron in the oven back home, and I figured storing empty cookware in the oven couldnāt be that odd, so I even changed the initial wording of the poll to just be about food. So that I have no issue with
It used to drive my father crazy, because he'd forget to pull the pans out sometimes (made worse by the fact that my Mom stores the insulating handle cover on the pans in the oven, so yeah, it's an issue when you heat them up). My mother's counterpoint was that you should be checking the oven before you turn it on anyhow, to check that the racks are somewhere sensible, but given that she also has been known to forget to remove her pans, her argument never seemed the strongest to me.
I made a sign for myself for unrelated reasons that told me ālater doesnāt existā - as in, if I said Iād do something later, ADHD plus time blindness meant it wouldnāt get done. That got taped right above the oven. Later ācheck in ovenā got written below it to remind us to check the oven for the cast iron. It was already heavy, heavy and hot are a bad combo. But that at least is all meant to get that hot.
The dog's a counter surfer, but can't get in the oven. We use it like a bread box.
The culpritā
I'm debating if I should post this shorter 6.5k chapter rn and leave y'all at a ROUGH cliffhanger, or if I should add more to it.
Clause the climax of Devil Do You Like Drums is done and ready to go, but like,,, I posted a new chapter like less than a week ago. I *could* wait.
