this didn't start with the vegas drain covers but it just feels like f1 is so disrespectful of its athletes and the teams by prioritizing the show above the sporting event.
these are still human beings and as elite athletes they're trying to take their sport seriously and go through all this rigorous preparation to compete. for f1 to just shit all over that, start sessions at midnight and later, and to just madly move schedules around last minute on top of the already insane schedule because they cannot do the basic work of safety checking a track sufficiently...
the drivers should just strike, on behalf of their overworked teams if nothing else. i would like to see it :)
