me and my butch core
the way we have gone from "femme as in lover and protector of butches" to "femme as in i want to be a stay at home housewife while my butch provides for me🥺" in just a year or two is actually terrifying
butch dykes, i love you.
i’ve been seeing so much negativity and discourse on tiktok and it’s been so draining. claiming people who like butch lesbians aren’t real lesbians because the whole “point of lesbianism” is to be attracted to “femininity” or whatever the fuck. claiming wearing a strap or enjoying penetration defeats the point of lesbianism. and then the people who “defend” butches by being like “well they have tits and a pussy so that’s why it’s still lesbian” feels so gross to me.
butches, your masculinity completes my femininity. i wouldn’t be the same femme i am now without my butch. i love you for your masculinity, not despite it. butches on t, butches on e, with top surgery, with bottom surgery, who label themselves as transmasc or trans men, whose gender identity is tied to their butchness/lesbianism, who feel dysphoric about their body, who use he/him pronouns, who wear the strap, and who aren’t comfortable performing femininity, i love you all so much. i will defend you all until the day i die, you’re loved and cherished and so incredibly important.
Sometimes butches aren't chivalrous or strong, sometimes we are exhausted and tired and deserve to be held and get prince treatment. I really hate the mentality that butches can't just exist as a normal human with needs. Everyone needs softness and gentleness. Don't forget that.

a butchfemme dynamic isn’t about the butch doing everything for the femme or vice versa… it’s both of us looking at each other and saying “you do so much for me, let me take care of you” and i think that’s so important to recognize. you shouldn’t be doing everything for your partner without them giving you everything in return. the ways you spoil each other might look completely different and that’s okay, but one person shouldn’t be carrying the brunt of the relationship. that’s not what being butchfemme means.

hate that tumblr has turned identifying as a femme into an aesthetic more and more, that aesthetic being one of white thin cis pink obsessed coquette girlies (which there is nothing wrong with this aesthetic in general i enjoy various aspects of it, i mean look at my blog) but it’s bad when people who don’t understand what being a femme is and is truly about and they start identifying as femme and think that’s all it is /an aesthetic/ and it’s even worse when these lesbians correlate it to kink and sexualize butches without their consent and demand them to be doms/daddies etc. because if you’re doing that you’re not a femme, there’s no one way to be a femme and there is no dress code, but to be a femme you must love and respect butches and studs and not treat them like pieces of meat or sex toys for you to ogle and use and then throw away. it’s gross. stop it.

Let me be remembered not by what I once was, but by who I am;
Set free from the burden of my cocoon, having torn through the darkness that once engulfed me;
At last, immersed in bliss, my life begins;
Please remember me as I am.
Don’t let the world forget who I am.
Don’t let them erase me.
