@monster-munch
me and my butch core
sometimes i wonder if im actually butch or if im a poser then i remember that sincerely the most turned on ive ever been in my entire life was the day a femme (who i always held the door for of course) was walking a few feet ahead of me, reached the doorway, then STOPPED and waited for me to open it for her like she wouldn’t be caught dead touching a door handle when i was around. like she had forgotten how to open it herself. like it would burn her if she touched it. i still think about her all the time.
i genuinely think being spoiled is the hottest thing a femme can be. this girl was seriously smart as a whip and a thousand times more competent than i could ever hope to be. she can open a damn door, but the fact that she not only LETS me make her life a little easier, but INSISTS on it? im lightheaded
the best thing about this post is seeing femmes in the tags saying stuff like like “oh ive never thought about this. i should stop being so hyper independent and let my butch take care of me” YES!!! MY EVIL PLAN IS WORKING!!!
first ever cyanotype made w an acetate negative of an orchid <33 very very excited to explore this medium + technique further hehe
Long Covid Justice on COVID and LONG COVID from the mask ban teach-in
COVID/SARS-CoV-2 basics
It is NOT seasonal, like the flu is.
Spreads through air, like smoke.
The 6 feet apart rule is no longer great prevention advice.
Handwashing is a great hygiene practice, but transmission via surfaces is unlikely.
Vaccines do NOT prevent transmission. They reduce symptoms and severity for some.
You can transmit [COVID] while completely asymptomatic. Around half of transmission is as asymptomatic or presymptomatic. Everyone's immune system is different.
Being indoors increases risk of transmission, but you can still get it in crowded outdoor spaces.
What is Long Covid?
Long Covid is a set of health issues after someone has COVID-19
New health issues, ongoing issues, or worsening of previous symptoms and conditions.
It is a biological disease that affects hundreds of millions of people globally. It is a mass disabling condition and crisis.
It can cause significant disability and can be fatal.
Anyone can develop it, and up to 10% of people with COVID will.
Severity of initial infection doesn't correlate to potential to develop Long COVID.
It can be very hard to get a diagnosis and proper treatment or care for Long COVID.
Every time you get COVID infection, you increase your chances of developing Long COVID.
How do we prevent Long COVID? Layers of protection
Masking.
Air filtration.
Ventilation.
Vaccines.
Testing (right now Aug 2024, rapid tests are only about 20% reliable. Try to test two times in 24-48 hours).
Nasal sprays before and after exposure. (little data on these being effective against COVID but some are choosing to use them until more research comes out)
Mouthwashes with CPC (Cetylpyridinium Chloride) before and after exposure. (Must be used for at least 60 seconds)
does anyone have any recommendations on reusable n95 masks? i remember seeing something about reusable masks where you can change out just the filter to eliminate waste. i’d love to look into getting one but i’m not really sure what the most reliable options are!!
The fearmongering around medical transition for transmascs will never not be upsetting to me.
“you’re gonna look ugly as a man” “but you’re such a pretty girl, don’t change that” Wrong. You will look different after T, but you will look happy. You will probably grow hair and gain weight and look pretty different, and none of that is bad or makes you less desirable. You are going to look like you and that’s all that matters.
“T makes you angry” “you’re gonna be a scary man i won’t feel safe around you” Wrong. Testosterone does not “make” you angry. Messing with your hormones will mess with your emotions for sure, but you will not immediately become some scary predator when you start T. Being a man/masculine does not make you a threat, a predator, or inherently angry. That’s radfem shit.
“bottom growth is gross” “no one will want you with bottom growth” Wrong. Bottom growth is cool and a LOT of guys end up loving theirs a lot more than they thought they would. For a lot of people it is a desirable trait, there are people who find bottom growth hot and attractive. And! If you’re sure you don’t want it there’s things you can do to work around that, just talk to your provider.
“bottom surgery is super painful and not worth it” First off, call it phalloplasty, because that’s what you’re talking about. Second, yes it’s painful, it’s surgery. There are risks to it and complications can happen, but that’s true of any surgery. Phallo might not be for you, but it is life saving care for other folks. It is beautiful and should be talked about as life saving care and not as some afterthought thing that no one actually does.
Being transmasculine is a beautiful thing. Transitioning medically is not something every trans person wants, but if you notice yourself holding back for the reasons i’ve listed above (or similar) maybe reconsider.
being loved by a femme is one of life’s greatest gifts and i’m so grateful to be chosen to experience it

Due to the discourse on butches here’s my butch appreciation post. I love butches, butches that are or aren’t hairy, butches with long hair, butches with short hair, butches with or without top surgery and bottom surgery, butches on t, butches that aren’t on t, butches on estrogen, trans fem butches not on estrogen, plus sized butches, butches that are skinny, butches that are or aren’t curvy, gnc butches, butches with or without complex relationship to gender identities, butches with or without facial hair, butches that pass and butches that don’t, butches that don’t act like how people think they’re supposed to, loser butches, butches who wear makeup, butches who like feminine things, butches with or without tattoos, butches who are (stone) tops, butches who bottom or switch, butches who are butch4butch, butches that are butchfemme, butches that are or aren’t service tops, poc butches, butches that think they aren’t butch enough, butches that use different pronouns, he/him butches, butches that are Transmasc/ transfem butches, transmen butches, lesboy butches, butches that are twinks, boyfriend butches, asexual butches, neurodivergent butches, disabled butches, butches that are chronically ill, butches that are or aren’t my type, older butches, baby butches, I love and admire ALL of you.
I love it when a femme’s femininity flourishes because they are with a butch who loves them for who they are and never make them feel bad about liking all the traditional girly stuff. A femme who completely accepts their femininity, uses all sorts of pronouns, experiments with their gender because they know no matter what, their butch is still going to love them and always be attracted to them.
I love it when a butch’s masculinity flourishes because they are with a femme who loves them for who they are and never call them a man for liking the traditional manly stuff. A butch who completely accepts their masculinity, uses all sorts of pronouns, experiments with their gender because they know no matter what, their femme is still going to love them and always be attracted to them.
I love when femmes and butches don’t make each other feel bad when femmes like more of the masculine stuff and the butches like the feminine stuff, hence not forcing the heteronormative ideas on each other.
I love being a part of the butchfemme community

remember kids, the moral of "Irish and Italians weren't even considered White yet!" isn't "because in those times people were so ignorant they didn't think the Irish were white". the moral is "because white is an unreal category created to justify slavery and ongoing hoarding of power and wealth". It's not that you know better about Italians. It's that the boundaries of the higher caste have changed.
what nobody tells you about transition is the totality of it. once you dig into gender and start expressing the way you want, you'll start to find the marks of discomfort littered around the rest of your life. you'll notice how you were never living for yourself, just following the guidelines laid out for you.
as soon as you disengage that autopilot, you're on your own. you have to decide what is actually best for you. you have to question every decision you've ever made because they were all made by someone trying to play by the rules, rules whose application will kill you.
in the year-and-change since starting my transition, I have completely changed everything about my presentation, I changed how I talk, how I carry myself, how I interact with people. I changed the company I keep, I moved cities, I abandoned a career path I had been pursuing my entire life. I lost friends, made new ones, started engaging with types of media I had never been interested in before.
there's a life on the other side of transition, and you have to claw it back piece by piece. I will never stop transitioning into who I'm supposed to be because every time I get closer, I realize there's more I still need to change.
im sorry rad fems sold you the lie that butches are only Non Threatening (TM) cis women with short hair who wear T-shirts and jeans with a carabiner, but the reality of the situation is a lot of butches are trans, genderqueer, physically imposing, big, male impersonators, hairy (especially including facial hair), sweaty, muscular, "ugly" and/or fat. some butches are into extreme body modification. some went bald. some are body builders. some are transfem butches who don't wanna overperform womanhood, take estrogen, or medically transition. some butches start testosterone strictly to feel more like a butch. some butches pass as cis men, and some need to do so in order to feel like their butch selves. soft butches are great, but that's not the "One Right Way" to be butch. the butches i'm attracted to would make a rad fem scream and cry and piss themselves on the floor.
