Be angry. You don’t owe your abuser forgiveness. Forgiveness is under your jurisdiction. What happened to you was not. Power to you if you forgive. Power to you if you don’t. That is YOUR CHOICE. In circumstances where you had no say, this is one thing you are gifted. That decision.

You can heal and still be angry that someone did that to you. You can heal and come to terms with the repercussions of what happened and lead a full life full of love and softness, and still be angry that someone did that to you. They shouldn’t have. Your anger is the part of you that tells you you deserved better. That you deserved safety.
