Sure! I made a similar post about it ages ago.
In short, in the game and manga Hector and Isaac create life from scratch, or at most they infuse statues with life; in the show they reanimate corpses, either by turning them into mindless zombies (like Hector does) or putting the souls of the damned in their bodies and turning them into monstruous Night Creatures.
And this means their approach to the things they create are different. Hector calls his Innocent Devils "my friends" at the end of the game, and Isaac in Prelude to Revenge outright calls his own "my children". They're their creations, and while the Devils are bound to serve them, they seem to both be fond of them.
On top of this, Hector in PtR shows guilt for forcing his Devils to sin, and he's seen at the beginning of the manga outright killing them, as if he wants to put them out of their misery.
In short, Hector sees his Innocent Devils as creatures worthy of respect and affection. Which fits, as Hector himself acts as if he needs to earn the right to be loved.
Show Hector is the opposite. His realm is not life, but death. He learned early on in his life that he can bring back dead animals.
Think about what this means. A child discovers that he has the power to nullify death. He can disrupt the normal cycle of life. And he chooses to do so with the understanding of a child: death is sad, I don't want it to happen, I can fix it. And that's how he gains new pets!
Pets who love him. Pets who are the only ones who accept him. Pets who never leave him.
If you have watched the show, you might have noticed that Hector seems to only own reanimated animals.
This is important. In the MF manga, Hector has an affinity with actual animals, although those who are shunned by humans much like he is.
Show Hector, despite fandom conception, is not a doggo lover in the same way game Hector likes cats and wolves. He likes dead animals. He likes creatures who are magically bound to him and will never abandon him because they literally can't. He never shows any interest in living creatures, except when he compares vampires to cats in S2E5.
This is a profoundly selfish, in a childish way, vision of love. If game Hector respects his Devils as life he created to the point of being appalled that he might be taking advantage of their innocence, show Hector himself is innocent in a twisted way, and he has learned to overcome death itself without any respect for such a delicate, blasphemous process, but out of the very simple desire to be loved and appreciated.
(in a well written story, this could have been a terrific parallel to how Lenore herself ends up doing to him what he did to his pets, and how both of them love in a vampiric, possessive, "if you love something you act to keep it with you for as long as you can" way. But neither character was fleshed out enough for this comparison.)
I want to remark that me calling show Hector selfish is not a complaint. I really like this trait of his, and I think it makes him the most morally complex, or at least fascinating, character in the series. He's a blasphemer who refuses to grant the peace of death to the things he wants to keep! But you can see where he's coming from, and there's no malice in his torment. I only wish this trait of his wasn't forgotten and was used for more than "haha look at the idiot treated like a dog by the pretty vampire #kink"
Similarly, the most we know of Hector's feelings for his own power is that "he loves his work", as he says to Carmilla at some point. This is, as I pointed out a while ago, the very thing that Lenore uses to breach his defenses: pretending to appreciate his work by gifting him a book that might help him. Again, it's worth emphasizing: being treated like a pet left him unamused, but being gifted something that conveyed the message "your skills are worth being nurtured" is what made him flip the switch from "I can't trust this woman" to "I am safe with her". He doesn't seem to budge from this position even after being enslaved by that very woman, and we see him taking care of his Night Creatures in S4E5 much like he did in S2, only mildly annoyed that now the ring forfeits their loyalty to him. While show Hector rarely if ever expresses his own inner feelings, we can surmise that the reason he loves his work, despite how much it has ruined his life, is that, well, it's all he has known since he was a child. He has nothing else in his life, nor does he care to grow, given that he ends his story pretty much in the same place as he began. Humans have shunned him, vampires have used and abused him, but Hector keeps crawling to the few sources of validations he has in his life, first forging, then Lenore before she abandons him and leaves him with nothing - and perhaps, I want to hope, forcing him to gain the strength to do something worthwile with his life.
Needless to say that this is a huge contrast to game Hector, who obviously came to despise his line of work after realizing he had been used as a tool all this time, and only through the events of the game, after being used again, he learned to reclaim his powers in a more positive way, by nullifying Dracula's Curse and saving Europe. If show Hector's story ended up being, whether intentionally or accidentally, all about stagnation and the inability to grow up from the childish need to be loved, game Hector's is all about change, regret, atoning for his numerous mistakes to become the person (the human, even) he was always meant to be, and finally finding the love he deserves, not because he did anything to earn it but because as a human he's inherently worthy of it. And their different approaches to Forging is one of the ways this is conveyed.
