thinking about irresponsible dog & cat owners and fuming

Shitty cat owners will be like “I love animals which is why I let my cat fucking devastate the local ecosystem”

Lets pretend that they’re right and there’s absolutely no way to keep a cat happy except letting it wander outside collecting parasites killing wildlife and getting hit by cars. If that was the case, the correct response is not “oh well, better just let them do it”, it’s “I guess we shouldn’t have pet cats”

if your cat gets hit by a car or killed by a coyote or just straight up lost while you let it run around outside, that’s entirely your fault. A cat can be utterly content and happy in an indoor environment, but that requires their owner to put in some fucking effort. Buy a cat toy and a scratching post. Play with your pet. If you have a back yard get a cat fence. Harness train it.

And while we’re here, fucking leash your dogs in public. That is a 100-150lb carnivore and you may love your little pupper but it’s still an animal with instincts and and animal brain and if something goes wrong someone can very easily get hurt, be it a child, a smaller dog, or even your dog.

were not done yet DO NOT LET your cat or dog play with a small prey animal ESPECIALLY one that’s not yours!!! If that bird or gerbil or rabbit makes a sudden movement then that cat’s prey drive will trigger and you will end up with tiny pet entrails in your cute instagram.

When someone says “there are no bad dogs only bad owners” you probably think a “bad owner” means someone who beats their dogs or owns a fighting ring, but it’s these small, seemingly benign, easily fixable ownership mistakes that lead to most tragedies, When a off-leash dog bites a child’s face off and gets put down, I have absolutely zero sympathy for its owner.
