my god. I jsut saw an actual author complaining about people borrowing from libraries because she doesn't get paid per borrow. and then I went to her tiktok. oh my god. the future of humanity is bleak.

ANYWAY. Another author perspective: in Australia I get paid as an aggregate of the number of books I have available for borrow in public libraries, as well as the initial purchase of the book. If you would like an author to receive free money annually for years, simply phone your local library/check their website for how to request they stock a book... and get them to stock that author's books. Doesn't cost you a cent!

the cryptids that are players who have hit the level cap but their character looks like walking shitpost
