Started and finished with her.
The first time I watched this scene, I was like "of course is a dream, because this couldn't happen in the DD timeline." and "this dream is a mixed of memories" and now I realize that this really could be a mix of memories, each element of the dream represents a memory or memories.
Her hair can be a clear exemplo of that. During Defenders her hair is long. We have a six (?) months time jump, from when she was resuscitated to now, and considering that she was practically a robot, obviously her hair grow, but on this dream is short, is on the same size that was during Daredevil.
Her clothes and the fact that she was sleeping on the couch. All that is from 2x07 (him watching her sleep also could represent that memory)
The blanket is the same that she put in him (off screen) in 2x09
The daredevil costume, represent that she knows about him and also represent that she knows where he keeps the costume, thing that we know she knows because in the 2x05 she takes his costume (off screen). Also the fact that technically she shouldn't know how his costume is, because the only time she saw him wearing the costume was on 1x08 and the dream is on 1x06, so she knows by memory and not because she saw.
Kinda no totally in point but the fact that he said "you're sleeping for hours" reminds me that in the 2x08 he said that she need to rest.
The tea (?) for me could represent him taking care of her or/and even moments that they share a drink, also all the times they slept/wake-up together during college.
The "I like here" could be a "parallel to her first scene (2x05) when she said that she liked his place?
The "back in New York?" "No, back with you" she already knew that he loved her, because he said that to her on 1x5, but now she's knows that she loved him back and that they really had a past together and right there on New York. Also kinda reminds me of her saying that she would trade all her fancy life to spend her life with him, on the "last" flashback of 2x05.
I finished Iron Fist yesterday, and I get pretty confused about why and how Danny got the Fist back, and if that is possible considering that Colleen has the Fist. But being honest I don't know anything about the comics so maybe is possible and I just don't know about.
And considering that, I started to think again about, the Fist, from the Daredevil comics The Reed Fist Saga, is they right? The Fist originally was command by the Iron Fist, or better saying, two Iron Fist, a King and a Queen, and that's why Danny and Colleen can have the Fist at the same time?! That is one more thing that Chip brought from the Netflix shows to the comics or the Fist was mentioned before?
I know in this case it’s because the actor’s fanbase wants to see the actor back in DD again, so no shade to them directly, but the concept of how some fans are still on the ‘bring back Elektra’ train because they want her back with Matt is just… so strange to me?
Elektra and Matt had an openly toxic relationship in which she didn’t want to accept him for his soft side but tried to literally change him into the devil side of him only. Yes, things were better between them by the end, but that’s because she knew she was going to die and she was trying to make amends - but not even that much because she actively tried to encourage him not to save Karen and the other hostages, even after she saw how panicked he was that Karen was taken. And even in that moment, Elektra actively tells him he’s good and always been good in a way she isn’t and can’t be - and that he should be with someone who allows him to be good (aka obviously meaning Karen because she could see how desperate he was to save her).
And none of this is even mentioning the fact she’s come back from the dead twice already, so it would be farcical to do it again with her… What role would she ever pose in his life at this point besides the ex he loved that he knows isn’t good for him, and who actively at times disrespects who he is and his relationship with Karen? I just don’t see what the point of bringing her back would even be at this point. Her storyline played out already? She was never his forever person and even just in script development/story-lining terms, that has always been so obvious?
I couldn't let this pass, because I hate to see Elektra be reduced a "toxic ex girlfriend".
1° let's stop the "She just love DD..." and other shits like that. She loves HIM, all of HIM, good, bad, violent, caring... the situation is that, her life fits better with DD than with Matt, but that don't change the fact that loves Matt, because she always loved him... "...since I laid eyes on you..." - elektra, defenders 1x08.
2° Their relationship is toxic, yes, but is both of them, not only her... "we have to stop corrupting each other." - Matt, Daredevil 2x09. He also tried to change her, the fact that he wants her to be good, is not exactly a excuse. But she tried to change for him, because again, she loves him enough for that... actually she loves him enough to let him go (like you kind said) on Daredevil 2x07 HE asked her why she didn't came back to him before (he was hurt about the Roscoe Sweet situation, and still wanted her in his life) and she answered that was because he deserved better... again on Daredevil 2x13 she doesn't wanted him to came with her, but him insisted... and why was Elektra responsibility respect Matt and Karen relationship? She never forced Matt to do or say anything, if he don't respect is own relationship is not her fault... and she actually helped him find Karen on 2x13.
They have something that is not exactly natural, they have a connection that fights, time, distance and even dead could not change.
3° Elektra came back from dead, one time, and now because of what they did to her, she's kind immortal, so she's alive, she's just MIA...
4° She is much more that what we saw, actually we never saw her... my dream (and nightmare being honest, because I don't know if I trust the writers) is to her gain her own show, to actually explore her.
5° if she came back to Matt's life she doesn't need to be was a romantic interest, because again she's more than that, even to him. She's someone that he calls when he needs help, not just a fight help, but advices too... and again because she's her own character she can come back and be against Matt, she can work for Fisk for example.
"I have two kids waiting at home."
I think that is so interesting how Matt kind always hides Elektra.
I was reading some comics now, and I came across the Elektra v2 #06 by Brian Michael Bendis. Is a silent comic, but had the descriptions of the panels.
But basically Elektra is in Matt's office and she saws that he keeps the obituary of Karen, is there easy to find, and then she continues open drawers, but has one drawer locked, the key of the drawer was in other drawer with others things, and inside the locked drawer was her arm wrap, the one she was earing when she died, only that.
But had another comics that I kind had that impression to. He never mentions her to other people.
And that also happened in the Daredevil show.
And that makes me ordering, why? Is because their beginning? First love, first broken heart, so he doesn't like to remember and talk about?
Or is because who she's now? He don't like to be associated to her because she is a criminal?
Is because she is the only person linked to Matt and Daredevil? And that make easy to people figure out is secret.
Or is a way to kind stop loving her? He locks everything related to her, he don't motion her for anyone that doesn't knew her in college, to avoid all the feelings he has for her, but he keeps everything close because she is kind a part of him.
I never talk about that, but I'll happily watch a full episode just about Elektra's back history.
"But we have that!" is little to me.
One I'll like to have some conformation about her being Greek, because some people think that her appearance and accent makes impossible to her being Greek.
And two and most importantly, I have the theory that she was "with" the hand before being with Stick. Because when Nobu meets her, he says "the men that saved your life (Stick)", "I know you anywhere", and "we wanted you since you're a child and now you returned."... so like, Nobu really meet her before? What happened to her biological parents? The Hand killed them? Stick take her before the hand? That men Star, the one that Stick killed because he wanted to kill Elektra, as really from the Chaste? Elektra said that he was observing her, only her and again, why Nobu referred so much to her childhood?...
Recently I came to the conclusion that IF Matt one day had a endgame, the woman has to be a vigilante. Because doesn't matter how much they (him and the normal girlfriend) love each other, how much she accepted him as Daredevil, one day she will get tired of everything that come with him, all the worries, the dangerous, and the fact that she is not the priority of his life, because his priority is be Daredevil. Or eventually he'll have to choose between her and some Daredevil problem, and he'll choose the problem. Of course we had moments when he stopped, but nothing that make him really stopped (I think, I never read all the comics)
"I heard words thought but never spoken."
Mattelektra sex scene in the box ring, is extremely symbolic in my opinion. A place where people fight, bleed and all that is the place where they can find love and peace, just like their own relationship, for most of the people they're toxic and violent but despite every thing and even because all that, they find peace and love in each other, they find understanding.
I love how Elektra is not a maternal character in any universe, but we still have the opportunity to see her as a mother twice and each time she chooses a different path, which I completely agree with also because it's obvious that her life, doesn't suit motherhood and she knows that, so she knows she needs to choose, but regardless of her choice she is always a protective mother capable of doing anything to protect the child.
I love the choice of the name Iona, because it's probably a reference to the Ionian Sea, that was part of Elektra's life, so it's cool to see them giving reference to her origins.
Plus that ending...
I have this theory that Elektra made a appearance in Echo, and that scene will lead to a story that will be explore in Daredevil Born Again. But the scene was deleted.
So everything started when I saw the trailer "hurt" the one that is focuses in Fisk and Daredevil, and saw this shot.
Don't had a lot of characters that fit into that style, and of course the light can be one in the trailer, another in the show and other in real life, but in the moment I saw that, the first person that came in to my mind, was Elektra/Elodie, and yes the all white is strange come from her, but she wears white in the comics.
Basically my theory is, Elektra become a mercenary (after The Defenders) and eventually she started working for Fisk, the scene in Echo was a scene of them, maybe the started of that.
And then in DD Born Again we have the return of Bullseye, he will try to come back to Fisk, but Fisk will refuses him because of everything that happened in season 3 and because he had Elektra now. So Bullseye is gonna go after Karen, because killing her was the only task that him failed to complete, but even after his kills her as a way to prove to Fisk that he deserves come back, Fisk still not want him back, so Bullseye goes after Elektra because if she dies Fisk will have to bring him back.
But after all the changes that happened in DD I don't know...
EDIT: I don't think that was/is Elodie, is Eiza. The rumors in 2022 about her as Elektra was probably true. But maybe that scene has not appeared in Echo because she is not Elektra anymore
I hated to see people comparing Lexa and Octavia/Bloodreina, because how can you compare two completely different situations?
Lexa has a easy command, she has the people be her side, because she was a night blood, she win the conclave, she has every right to be a commander, and Lexa commande in earth a place that probably has abundance in all the senses.
Octavia since the beginning has a tough command, she was not a night blood, she just win the conclave in a pretty not common way, she has not right to that post and everyone knew that, she had to make the people accepted the fact that she was the person in charge. She had to make people that hate each other live in peace in a kinda small place where everything count.
I never noticed that's the same necklace
And this necklace looks like a mix between Daemon's necklace and the necklace above
I love hotd's choice of cast, but I can't get over the choice of cast/characterization of Jace, Luke and Joff, because:
Kid Jace: black hair and brown eyes
Teen Jace: brown hair and eyes
Kid Luke: black curly hair and green eyes
Teen Luke: black hair and green eyes
Joff: black hair (Didn't see his eyes color)
Possible parents:
Cole: brown eyes and black hair
Harwin: blue eyes and brown curly hair
Laenor: brown eyes and white hair
Was that their intention? Drive me crazy analyzing DNA to find out who the father is?
Harwin: Another boy, I heard.
Rhaenyra: *minimalist nod* *😊*
