Tumblr won in the Tab For a Cause “Tumblr vs. Reddit” Challenge! I think we should support the Wounded Warrior Project as our Reward. Hundreds of soldiers come back every day to families who don’t care if they’re missing an arm or a leg, as long as their heart is the same. However, missing an arm or a leg causes these families great trouble when comes to finding a job, paying for rehabilitation and supporting their families. Wounded Warriors helps these families get by the day to day without having to worry about an empty space where a leg should be. Instead they hold their soldier’s hearts in their hands.

Anne Frank died (At the time) as an insignificant nothing, the same way we all may die as an insignificant nothing. It was only through her posthumous rise to fame that she did become more than nothing. John Green used Anne Frank to show Augustus Waters that as Anne Frank died, she still knew she was dying as an insignificant nothing. Augustus Waters would also have to die knowing he was an insignificant nothing. If Augustus Waters posthumously became wildly famous, we do not know because the book is still "living on" per say. The reason Anne Frank was used and not some "still a no one nobody" is because Anne is relatable, her life was full of profound quotes a select few hear, and her fate was bound comparable to Augustus Waters. The entire moral of the book was that EVERYONE dies unimportant because there will always be someone who didn't hear our story. "Someone" could be one person or "someone" could be everyone in the world except for one person. Eventually everyone will be forgotten and what we need to do is make our lives worth it.

I really loved the little mermaid as a kid growing up so I had the warped perception you became a mermaid when you entered the water ahaha. This is me learning to swim with my cousin! This piece is for a gallery show at work.

What a cool mythos!!!! All baby girls abandoned in the water are taken in by mermaids. The mermaids make them a tail out of their own scales. They even get little arm floaties until they become better swimmers. Everyone contributes to making them. It’s a society of mothers. I LOVE IT
