Antburr

Allegiance: Snake's Head

Occupation: Guard

Parents: Cloverdaze (dead), Rushfur (dead)

Being the lesser-known sister to the Snake's Head priest can prove a hassle, but Antburr has been fairly content with her life as a guard in Snake's Head. She personally made sure that Primrose did not have to be exposed to any legal ramifications from her defection to Snake's Head, running through Reach law to clarify that Primrose was fully in her rights to leave. This attitude is why she earned the suffix "-burr", as she is hard to get off a mission when focused, much like a burr.

Some years ago, Antburr badly burned herself in an accident involving a clumsy apprentice learning to start fires. It left her tail badly burned and scarred. She has a lot of chronic pain and sensitivity issues, and can struggle to move it on bad days. She typically has it wrapped to help manage the pain.

Bonefreckle

Allegiance: Lion's Head

Occupation: Priestess

Bonefreckle is a strange patterned tortoiseshell whose dead, faded eye, paired with a sharp copper eye, made it clear that she was destined for priesthood. This destiny made itself apparent as she grew and developed a soft level of clairvoyance. She is therefore more of an oracle than the average priestess.

Bonefreckle is nearing retirement age, although has yet to find a kit to train and replace her. She is eager to be just another counselor on the Lion's Head Council, but she wonders if this reward will be kept from her as punishment from Peacockfeather. Bonefreckle didn't notice Flurryslip's affair, and Bushbranch was transformed for his role in it. Bonefreckle will have to see what she can do to bring the blessings of the gods back to her city.

Plumedazzle

Allegiance: Goat’s Head

Occupation: Artist

Parents: Driftwoodtrail, Gustear

Spouse: Tunastretch

Children: Stone, Egg

Plumedazzle is an artist, dedicated to the creative works of Goat's Head, although with the war, she's fulfilled a lot of craftsmith duties as well. She is mates with Tunastretch and was blessed to have both of her kits, Stone and Egg, survive the war. She is friends with practically everyone, but no friendship compares to the one she has with Queen Sunfur. While not biologically Sunfur's sister, the pair were born a week apart and as such viewed each other like sisters.

There are rumors that Plumedazzle knows the full story behind what happened with Sunfur and Queen Clothtail. It's not a subject she likes to talk about, much to her husband's frustration. Whatever the matter, Plumedazzle stands by her friend.

Tunastretch

Allegiance: Goat’s Head

Occupation: Scribe

Spouse: Plumedazzle

Children: Stone, Egg

Some consider Tunastretch to be the smartest cat in Chimera’s Reach. A foreigner hailing from Artema, Tunastretch thought his intelligence and talent for philosophy would be better suited in Artema’s famous frontier and sister state. So, he journeyed to Goat's Head shortly after his graduation and gave himself to the service of the previous queen, Clothtail. He eventually met his wife, Plumedazzle, and had two wonderful daughters in the last year.

Tunastretch is an incredible inventor with a strong understanding of mathematics, the origins of reality, engineering, and more. He's muscular, but with incredible flexibility, as noted in his adult name. He is the sort of cat whose quest for knowledge and growth could lead him into conflict with powerful beings…

Wonderbot’s next Chimera’s Reach Pride drawing! Ibiswhisker gets to listen to Helleborepetal sing and perform on a cat sized kithara! How do string instruments work without the flexibility of human fingers? Well maybe it’s just the magic of olymp cats, better known as the nonbinary citizens of Chimera’s Reach!

Helleborepetal

Allegiance: Snake’s Head

Occupation: Artist

Parents: Soottuft, Fennelsong

Helleborepetal is another olymp cat, an artist hailing from Snake’s Head. They are a new graduate, a highly charismatic cat who enchants others with their music. They were born to two counselors; one passed in childbirth, the old of old age before Helleborepetal and their littermates were apprenticed. Then, Helleborepetal’s three littermates each died before graduation, leaving Helleborepetal alone.

Despite this tragic backstory, they are an optimistic cat. They want to craft a grand play in memory of everyone who passed in the last year, so no one forgets them.

Ibiswhisker

Allegiance: Goat's Head

Occupation: Priest

Ibiswhisker is an olymp cat (nonbinary), seen as containing a portion of godly wisdom due to their divorce from the two main genders. While they must maintain a certain air of decorum and divinity as a priest, Ibiswhisker is incredibly social. They love to pull pranks and get into mischief with their best friend Hawkeye, although they are seen as more put together than their healer friend.

Ibiswhisker was born in the feline city-state of Artema and brought to Goat's Head as a kit by their mother, who saw their natural powers and thought they would have a better life in Chimera's Reach. Many priests have a dose of supernatural power that marks them as destined for temple life, and Ibiswhisker is no different. They possess a constant clairvoyance that tends to manifest itself as split-second reactions to events about to happen. To an outside observer, these events could be written off as good reflexes or an attention to detail. But the full strength of their powers become clear when Ibiswhisker reports on events happening far beyond the borders of Goat's Head...

A comic set a few seasons prior to the start of our story. Meet troublesome sisters Stone and Egg (kits in this comic, but apprentices as of the main story) and their father, Tunastretch.

Fun fact time: Red, the other kit in this comic, died in a human snare shortly after becoming a soldier’s apprentice. He was the son of Creamdrop’s brother, Rustlefoot, another war casualty.

Crocusheart

Allegiance: Snake's Head

Occupation: Priest

Parents: Cloverdaze (dead), Rushfur (dead)

Crocusheart knows he does not have long left. He can sense it in the wind, feel it in his fur. His successor has been born. It won't be long before Crocusheart, as per tradition, retires from the priesthood. It's not a tradition he faces with pride. He loves his work, his position. He doesn't want to give it up. But he won't have a choice soon enough.

Crocusheart deciphers omens, the natural way the world fortells the future. He's seen the omens of what is to come from him; rotting flowers surrounded by bloom. When he retires, he will not be a counselor for long. Is there anything he can do to prolong his demise? Is he destined for Elysium where the former queen, his mother, rests, or will he rot in the ordinary?

Nightjarwhisker

Allegiance: Goat's Head

Occupation: Soldier

Parents: Larkpath (biological, dead), Silentthroat (adopted, dead)

Spouse: Orangemoon

Children: Mullet

Nightjarwhisker was an only kit born to a herald named Larkpath with an unknown sire. Later in life, his mother married a guard named Silentthroat and had another single litter, a son named Manticorebite. Nightjarwhisker sees Manticorebite as his full brother and looks out for him, even as he's left Goat's Head to live in Snake's Head with his mate Storyheart.

In his own life, Nightjarwhisker is a loving husband to his mate Orangemoon and is eager to be a father to young Mullet. He loves his humble life, even though he knows the current climate is stressful with the recent war. His parents both fell in the conflict, but perhaps there will be better days ahead.

Aircatcher

Allegiance: Snake’s Head

Occupation: Herald

Aircatcher is the last herald remaining in Chimera’s Reach. His key responsibility is to bring news and people between the three cities, especially in times of crisis when help is desperately needed. However, the other heralds were all either killed by the humans of Rizos or taken far away.

Aircatcher is a highly social and friendly tom, with connections across Chimera's Reach. He's gladly taken King Rockfleck's advice to not overexert himself so he can train future generations in memorization, travel, and diplomacy. He takes his travels slow and tries to stay out of drama.

Cinder

Allegiance: Snake's Head

Occupation: Soldier's Apprentice

Parents: Hydrastripe

The only apprentice in Snake's Head (until Primrose arrived), Cinder is about to graduate from apprenticeship and reside in the currently empty soldier's quarters. Where other apprentices still goof off and pretend the chaos of the humans' assault hasn't bothered them, Cinder has embraced adulthood and does whatever he needs to help his city with quiet stoicism.

Hydrastripe tries to get him to lighten up, but Cinder is exceptionally focused on his work. What he really needs is a hobby, according to his mother. Truth is, Cinder doesn't really know what he likes to do outside of his duties. He should know by now… is something wrong?
