“can you be trans without dysphoria” “can you be an aromantic lesbian” “can bisexuals only date one gender” i literally do not care. in what states and countries are we protected from discrimination.
crazy that this post is like two years old because in retrospect a lot of this frustration probably came from how all available “queer support” i had came from people with accepting families and all they wanted to hear was how valid and loved they were. which was nice and all for a bit until i realized there were no gender neutral bathrooms on campus and there was no easy way to mark “use this name out loud and on any paper that could be accessed by family, use this one” other putting you trust in a teacher who could (and did, in my case, several times) fuck it up and re-out you. it’s about how i couldnt tell anyone about my relationship without being afraid that it would get back home, and there would be nothing protecting me but trust. but yeah like sure man i’m a boy because i say i am and thats what matters!!! and thats all the time we have for today

Thats one thing I struggled with after bottom surgery. A lot of transfem identity being around a part I no longer had made me feel like an outsider to a part of the community. I eventually got over it but it took me completely by surprise
I still struggle with this a lot. It's insane that so many people fetishise us, including our own sisters. I've had to explain to someone who's TMA before that uh hey defining trans women by our body parts is fetishising us.
