The movie deleting the scene where Andy protects Miranda at the benifit pisses me off cause that scene totally does recontextualise Miranda's demand that comes afterwards

Like its not just that Andy got a name right when Emily foundered. Andy jumped in and protected Miranda from Stephen's BS emotional abuse. Like that scene is technically Stephen's 2nd appearance or would have been if it hadn't been cut and once again he's resentful of Miranda, drinking, letting her know he's angry and doesn't wanna be there... and then he mocks Irv

Miranda is there to network. That was a very important night for her and he tried to get her in trouble with her boss and Andy has to jump in and protect her

That benifit was serving as the place where Miranda would be making up her mind on who she needed in Paris and for what reason. Miranda deciding that Emily can't go because she got sick and forgot a name makes her look impulsive and illogical, since Emily has been serving her purpose all along

But Miranda recalibrating what problems can arise, and realising that Stephen can be a problem and there are social problems that she won't be able to deflect on her own, that Andy CAN deflect makes for some good thought

When she tells Andy that fashion week is the most important week of the year and she can't have anything mess it up, it takes two meanings depending on which cut of the movie you've got

Is she just a controlling asshole or is she a woman that's aware her shitty husband will be with her in Paris and might try to mess with something to undermine her... because he's jealous of her?

And Stephen ends up hurting Miranda in both cuts then, but one feels like it's trying to shame her as the reason for the breakdown of her marriage (but she still feels sympathetic)

And the other is fucked up cause Miranda is blaming herself still, even though Stephen has been the abusive friction in their marriage

The movies obsession with a moralization of both Andy and Miranda's paths really flattens what realistically is going on and I'm annoyed they cut scenes because they made Miranda "sympathetic"

Because Nate was already an asshole and the movie wanted you to ignore it. Having Stephen be an obvious POS doesn't disrupt narrative coherence and the mirroring of Miranda and Andy, it actually makes it more coherent

Emotionally abusive, whiney, insecure men who can't stand to see their girlfriend/wife succeeding without them

Even the scene where Stephen complains about being stood up in the restaurant is a red flag to me because his framing is paranoid and carries on that "people know who I am/should know who I am and you make me look bad just by existing with your career and brilliance."

I'm glad that scene at the benifit is considered canon by the fandom tbh

ok personally i really dont like Snape but there are so many people out there who seem to, out of shear curiosity what is so great about him? from what i see, he's someone who had something really great (Lily's friendship) ruined it (calling her a mudblood) was pissed that he ruined it, didnt like her choice in husband and took it out on her son. i'd really like to hear y'all's opinions on this cause i just dont get it.

I think it’s cool that you’re asking Snape fans directly. I’ve seen my fair share of folks who wonder how anyone could like Snape, but who never actually bother to talk to those of us who do. I appreciate that you seem genuinely interested in hearing from us!

I like Snape because he’s such a contradictory and complex character. He’s a brave, sarcastic, genius asshole. He walks the line between utterly pathetic and hyper-competent in a unique way. He’s a twitchy, unpopular oddball as a teen, but at the same time is the most gifted of his generation. He’s petty in his day-to-day interactions, but selfless when lives are on the line. For each child he bullies, he also does what he can to protect them and save their lives; though he’s caustic and offensive in his words, his actions, motivations, and the magic associated with him are primarily defensive. He’s cold and sneering but cares deeply. He’s a master spy and manipulator who runs circles around Bellatrix at Spinner’s End, yet with Harry, his emotions tend to run close to the surface, and he is remarkably honest, blunt, and straightforward.

I also like Snape because while he’s only too human, he’s also almost inhumanly brave. He’s a traumatized character who has never healed, and he acts like it. His descent into darkness and joining the Death Eaters is a realistic portrayal of radicalization. Yet he manages to leave and commits to walking a hard path towards atonement for his past role as a Death Eater, eventually sacrificing everything—his comfort, ambitions, reputation, relationships, ability to be known, personal motivations, and life—for it. He’s the most important member of the Order and regularly risks his life for the people (and society, really) that he loathes and that loathe him right back. And he manages to do it all even while terrified of Voldemort.

Finally, he’s an incredibly dynamic character. He goes from someone who has a complicated relationship with, but ultimately embraces, anti-muggle prejudice to one who soundly rejects it. He goes from not valuing human life to trying to save as many as possible (“lately, only those whom I cannot save”). His motivation shifts from the personal to the good of the wizarding world. He develops his moral compass and surpasses his need for his mentor.

So yeah, tldr; my favorite characters are those that are complex and interesting, not simply nice or palatable. And in that vein, Snape’s petty cruelty is part of the appeal, because it’s in such contrast to his ultimate selflessness. He does indeed redeem himself, even if it doesn’t turn him into a “nice” person.

Snape’s story can be uncomfortable, and I can understand why engaging with it deeply might not be how everyone wants to spend their free time in this fandom. But “look[ing] at [him]”—as he asks Harry (and the reader) to do with his dying breath—in his entirety and attempting to understand the complexity can be a fascinating and beneficial excercise.

i've been deep diving into tam kaur's videos lately (at 2am with a face mask on, as one does) and honestly? her advice has shifted something in me that i didn't even know needed shifting. i wanted to share some lessons that have genuinely changed how i move through the world, in case any of you need these reminders too.

⋆.ೃ࿔:･ you're allowed to prioritize yourself ･:࿔ೃ.⋆

this seems so simple but was revolutionary for me. tam talks about how we're conditioned to believe that putting ourselves first is selfish, when actually it's the foundation of everything good we bring to the world. i used to feel guilty for saying no or taking time for myself, like i was somehow failing at being a good friend/daughter/person.

now i understand that filling my own cup first isn't just okay, it's necessary. i can't pour from empty, and neither can you.

⋆.ೃ࿔:･ confidence is a practice, not a personality trait ･:࿔ೃ.⋆

i always thought confident people were just born that way. tam taught me that confidence is actually built through tiny, consistent actions, speaking up even when your voice shakes, trying things that scare you, and slowly expanding your comfort zone.

the most powerful part? she talks about how confidence isn't about never feeling insecure, it's about feeling the fear and doing it anyway. this changed everything for me because i was waiting to feel confident before acting confident. turns out it works the other way around.

⋆.ೃ࿔:･ your worth isn't tied to productivity ･:࿔ೃ.⋆

in one video, tam mentioned how we're taught to tie our value to what we accomplish. i felt so seen because i've always been that person with the endless to-do lists, feeling like a failure on days when i don't cross enough items off.

learning to separate my inherent worth from my output has been the most freeing thing. i'm still working on it (catching myself when i say "i didn't do anything today"), but just being aware of this pattern has helped me be gentler with myself.

⋆.ೃ࿔:･ healing isn't linear ･:࿔ೃ.⋆

tam talks about this a lot, how personal growth isn't this neat upward trajectory. it's messy. you'll have days where you feel like you've figured it all out, followed by days where you fall back into old patterns.

this helped me stop being so hard on myself when i slip up. healing isn't perfection; it's progress over time. those setbacks aren't failures, they're just part of the journey.

⋆.ೃ࿔:･ other people's opinions aren't your responsibility ･:࿔ೃ.⋆

this one hit me hard. tam has this way of explaining how we waste so much energy trying to manage what others think of us, when ultimately, their opinions are shaped by their own experiences and insecurities.

i used to contort myself trying to make everyone like me. now i'm learning that some people simply won't, and that's okay. it's actually freeing to release that impossible responsibility.

what i love most about tam's approach is how she balances aspirational content with reality. she doesn't promise overnight transformation, she talks about the daily practice of choosing yourself, again and again.

Gaara is not shy or awkward!!

A lot of people—many Gaara fans included—seem to think Gaara is shy (that's Hinata), socially awkward (that's early Sai) or even autistic (that's Shino). Yeah, Gaara was isolated growing up, just like Naruto, and sure, he's more introverted—but he doesn't feel stressed around people or lack the ability to connect with others. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

Being introverted doesn't mean you're afraid of social situations, it just means you recharge better alone. I'm not a psychologist or anything, but it's not hard to understand there's a difference between "I feel anxious and overwhelmed in social settings" and "I just don't need constant interaction to feel okay". Not all introverts are socially awkward, many simply prefer quality over quantity in their relationships.

Contrary to how some fanart and fanfics portray him as a male version of Hinata when he's with Naruto, Gaara is not shy or awkward. He's just serious, stoic, and introspective:

(1)Gaara isn't nervous or uneasy around others; it was the other way around—because people were afraid of him.

Gaara didn't fail to make friends because he's socially inept, he just never got the chance. Now that he's earned his village's trust, Gaara doesn't struggle with social interaction at all. You don't see him blush, sweat, fidget, stammer, or avoid eye contact during conversation. He's unafraid to speak his mind, even when his bluntness might upset people. That's not a lack of social awareness either—Gaara is very empathetic, but also pragmatic. He knows the truth isn't always what people want to hear, but it's often what they need.

(2)Gaara has no problems initiating or holding conversations.

Though not the most talkative, Gaara is far from quiet. He speaks up when it matters, and when he does, he's composed and confident—often taking the lead in discussions and calmly asserting himself, such as when he told the other kages to let him speak first during the summit, or when he interrupted Tsunade in their meeting. Gaara is actually very articulate. He's always been good at expressing his feelings and the values he's learned, and he gives eloquent speeches. Once given the chance, Gaara shows that he's a born leader who can unite people with words.

(3)Gaara doesn't stiffen when touched.

I know Gaara has an auto defense and maintains a rigid posture most of the time, but he's perfectly fine with physical contact. He actually initiates it—offering handshakes, placing a hand on someone's shoulder—naturally and smoothly.

So no, Gaara isn't shy or socially awkward (while Naruto gets shy and bashful with him and that's why I prefer GaaNaru over NaruGaa). If he were, he would've regretted his role as the kazekage, or wouldn't even wanted to become one. But he wanted it, worked for it, and thrives in it.

I know the manga is called Naruto, but this idea that "Naruto is the only one who hasn't abandoned Sasuke" is ridiculous. Why does Kishimoto want us to believe that Naruto is Sasuke's only bond ?

I know that Kakashi and Sakura have abandoned Sasuke (from the moment they tried to kill him), but what about Itachi, Suigetsu, Karin and Juugo.

Itachi promised to always love Sasuke, even though Sasuke had just told him he wanted to destroy Konoha.

Sasuke, when tracking Danzo, left Suigetsu and Juugo behind. And despite this, they found Sasuke so they could conquer the world together.

Karin, had the least reason to forgive Sasuke.

And yet she did. She was ready to do anything to help him when she sensed he was dying. Suigetsu, Juugo and Orochimaru helped her.

Even Orochimaru helped Sasuke by summoning the kages. He's also the only one who criticized Tobirama for his actions. I don't really understand why he decided to help Sasuke, but the fact is that he did. So what's so special about Naruto when even someone like Orochimaru decides to help Sasuke?

Ok, so, even after aaaalll this time I’m still seeing quite a lot of people who continue on bashing Sakura and saying how useless she is and how she always cries and how Hinata is much stronger and so on and so forth…

So let’s try to start from the very beginning. I get it, she was hardcore fangirl in the first part but c’mon, you have to admit that at some point in your life you acted the same towards someone you really, really liked… Sakura was taking care of those two, guarding them and staying awake for hours, keeping them safe.

Then the three ninja appeared and even tho she was very tired, she still fought them and managed to hold them off enough so others can come and help too.

Later in the exams, despite loosing, she showed a nice power against Ino and please bear in mind that Ino is from a powerful clan unlike Sakura who is from a normal family. After that, she showed genjutsu skills, she was one of the few who didn’t get affected by the genjutsu and that’s how she managed to free Naruto and the others from it. Then when they tracked Sasuke, Naruto was scared, he was actually shaking when he saw the monster in front of him and when Gaara sprung ahead to kill Sasuke, Sakura was the one to stand and protect Sasuke which resulted in her getting caught.

She shows concern for her friends and is selfless. She is ready to throw herself in between two of the most powerful attacks only to stop those two idiots. And imagine what would have happened if Kakashi hadn’t come in time.

They say that she placed a big burden on Naruto and that she is using him to bring Sasuke back and yet she realized her mistake the moment Naruto came back from the failed attempt in bringing Sasuke back. She swore to get stronger and take off the burden she placed upon Naruto. She started training with Tsunade and indeed got stronger. She healed a lot of people.

She saved Kankuro’s life. Even Chiyo was impressed by her skills.

Then when they were sent to retrieve Gaara. She defeated Sasori. Yes, Chiyo helped her but Sakura showed incredible skills on her own. Sasori praised her on a few occasions.

After that, Naruto was damaged by the Kyuubi’s chakra. It was Sakura who healed him. Even tho she was in pain, she did everything to make the wounds heal faster.

Then, she had her little moments that I’m going to skip. Let’s concentrate on the bigger ones like the attack on Konoha. She helped a looot of injured ppl uncluding Hinata. If it wasn’t for Sakura, Hinata would have died.

She even saved Karin and cried on her.

After that, war time, I don’t have to mention that she again saved a lot of people and caugh the White Zetsu.

She also activated her seal and managed to do some impressive work on defeating a lot of enemies.

She summoned Katsuyu and healed everyone on the battlefield… quite the amount if you ask me…

Of course Naruto being one of them :))

She also pretty much helped Shikamaru, she kept him alive and gave him chakra until Naruto recovered enough to give them all chakra.

Oh c’mon, I don’t have to say that she saved Naruto’s life.

They say how she was super scared when she encountered Madara. Then again, was Hinata going to be less scared? Or was she going to do that..?

Distract him a little so Naruto and Sasuke can think of sth. And look at her, she is enduring it, pushing the fear away and doing everything in her powers to fight him.

It was thanks to her that Obito was able to find Sasuke, otherwise, they were doomed…

And she also saved Obito. If it wasn’t for her, the acid would have splashed him instead and … bye bye Obi~

If I remember correctly, Sasuke and Naruto were just about to seal Kaguya away but it would have been another fail. If it wasn’t for Sakura, Kaguya would have escaped them once again.

And what did Hinata do?

She did helped Naruto by protecting him from Pain. But don’t take Naruto’s rage that deeply ok. He thought that she was dead and she was his friend so it’s only normal to react like that. It would have been Shikamaru or Kiba or someone else from his friends, he would have reacted the same way.

And yes, she has the byakugan and is able to do a lot of things thanks to it but what would have happened if she didn’t have it????

and what the hell is that? Make your own Ninja Way girl, don’t copy Naruto’s

She is cute and has decent power but some things I just can’t forgive about her character. Fuck Trollmoto tho…

Now let’s pay some attention to the NaruSaku and MinaKushi stuff. They say that Hinata is like Minato. Indeed the both of them are on the quiet side but other than that what? Minato calms Kushina = balance. When did Hinata calmed Naruto?

here??? (lets not mention how Neji was dead in her feet and she was thinking how warm Naruto’s hand was) *CRINGE*

And oh well, sorry to disappoint you but that scene is kinda copied..

Say whatever you want but Kushina’s line stays the same “Find someone like your mother”

And Minato considered Sakura as Naruto’s girlfriend and stated how she was like Kushina. And Sakura and Minato actually worked together.

If we include the movies. Naruto was saved by Sakura a lot of times. Like in Road to Ninja, she fought Obito/Menma.

The Blood Prison, she kept him alive enough for Ryuuzetsu to help him.

And in The Last (which is the bullshit of the bullshits) she was healing him and transfering chakra into him for days. She saved his life again.

Even in Boruto the movie when they were attacked, she fought and evacuated the people. Later, healed them.

Including Hinata who instead of staying with her children in such dire situation, sprung to help Naruto only to be knocked out instantly and risking her own life against oponent she has NO chance at even scratching. (what would have happened if the enemy injured her more seriously or worse - killed her? the kids would have been without mother. She is too reckless.)

and that shit about Naruto loving her because of the rivalry? Oh well, you still remember 235 ep right? He said how he fell in love with her sweet smile and all those cheesy things. They shared so many moments.

First thing he mutters is “Sakura-chan”

Unlike Hinata, who was placed in Sasuke’s place in The Last. The moment when they were little and she “was with him from day one” Sakura actually was with him when they were little (alongside Shikamaru, Kiba, Sasuke and Choji and even Ino. Yes, they weren’t playing that much but they still shared some moments. Hinata tho, Naruto just saved her once from some bullies…)

And lookie, we even have the red thread of love

And let’s not forget how she cherished the flower and blushed the whole time

All and all

And also not to mention that Naruto and Sakura would have been not only like Minato and Kushina but also like Hashirama and Mito. Hashirama is a sunny guy like Naruto and Mito is Uzumaki and all Uzumaki are loud and cheerful and energetic like Kushina (and therefore Sakura). And we can also add Jiraiya and Tsunade, the way they acted was the same way the other couples act. Even Rin and Obito are the same (despite Rin being a little gentler) and Yaiko and Konan too. So this is going on through generations, ever since the Warring Eras with Mito and Hashirama to the other war stricken eras with Jiraiya and Tsunade, Konan and Yahiko to the more modern era with Obito and Rin and Kushina and Minato to the peace era with Naruto and Sakura.

And here is some amazing fanart, seriously even if I wasn’t a NaruSaku fan, I would have still being able to notice those things. Hinata is cute but she really isn’t that strong. If she wasn’t from the noble clan she wouldn’t have been able to fend for herself. Sakura on the other hand is not from such a clan but she manages to surpass Tsunade who is known as the strongest woman. I’m a person who sticks to facts.

I hope you can agree with me…. :)) I myself want Kishimoto to fuck everyone and just write a special NaruSaku manga where they end up together… no more bullshits!!!
