We went to PAWS earlier to look at possible cats or dogs to adopt and we got to go along with a tour of some students that wanted to volunteer. It was pretty cool. I wish we could have spent more time there, just playing with the animals. :D
The volunteer said that sometimes, the animals will tend to gravitate towards potential adopters. For instance, a number of cats approached me earlier and I couldn't pick which one I wanted to bring home! I asked my mom if we could bring home 10 and see which one sticks around. I was pretty serious about this, but they don't allow that. :( There was this one particular cat named Theodore that really gravitated towards me. He even cheek marked my feet and legs and while he was up on a ledge, he'd come nose-to-nose with me. The volunteer said that Theodore's really playful. But I found him too skinny. (AWW TAAS NG STANDARDS?! MEH GANON?!) I pretty much want a nice, big/ fat cat that's more a lap cat and a sort of guard cat, so I'm thinking about it. Yes, a guard cat. Because we get some feral cats in our yard and a small or fat cat won't be able to defend his territory when they come around.
There was also this other cat I went towards and liked. Her name was SADAKO. LIKE IN MY DREAM. OMG. My mom and the volunteer said it could be destiny. She had really nice eyes, too. And she was big and fat. She didn't stay on my lap, though. And she kind of was the type who couldn't care less, so long as you fed her and stuff. Hahaha.
Then there was ADHD cat that kept playing with this furball and jumping all over the place. Only when I was about to leave did it start to mark me. Weirdo. But we aren't looking for an ADHD cat, so sorry, ADHD cat.
But I really, really, really wanted this huuuuge black and white cat, but it was scared of me. I tried to hold it thrice, but it would look at me like O_O and skirt away. Argh. Maybe next time. And maybe I'll bribe him/ her with a treat. Hehehehehe.
There were so many cats! The volunteer said there were at least 256 cats in the center. There were dogs pa! We didn't lean towards the dogs because there weren't any Boston Terriers and all the dogs were of mixed breeds. My mom didn't like them, but I saw that a few of them looked really smart and stuff. They were all also of medium size, but we're looking for a small breed, if ever.
So there. So tough this decision making! I don't even know for sure if I want a cat OR a dog, because honestly I want both. Hahaha. I'd even want a zoo if I had the money for one. Mom says we should opt for a cat since they're more independent and they're easier to potty train than dogs. But they can be so moody sometimes. And once you spoil them, that's it. On the other hand, I want a dog to guard the garden and run around the village with. And sleep on the floor with and play fetch and stuff with. Hmmmmmm.
This quest shall continue!
