Remmick is a victim at first (“vampirism is being cut off from your ancestors”), like most of the vampires, but then he seeks to exploit and predate upon others for his own gain like every other vampire.

That “equality” he espouses is an equality of the exploiters, united in their predation. Does he personally even care about race? It doesn’t matter, his willingness to fraternize with anybody including klansmen and transform them into pawns of his greater objectives of expanding predation is a fairly colonial attitude. Black, klansmen, Asian, it doesn’t matter to Remmick but it also does. He chooses victims the public won’t care to seek out. He purposefully predates on both the despicable and the vulnerable.

His is a racism “without racists” (hello Eduardo Bonilla-Silva), a vision of equality that flattens everything into a machine for more predation. Anyone can join to become an oppressor in this new world, which isn’t actually a very progressive idea at all. It represents a kind of neoliberalism that seeks to build equal partnerships of exploiters across communities and to equalize markets by appealing to as many people as possible as potential consumers.

The klan ideology disappears with their transformation and is instead replaced with something similar but more terrifying - a world in which klansmen and Black man can be equal partners in preying upon the vulnerable.
