I love this scene SO much
sorry jean is a stronger man than me. if neil josten pulled up to my sickbed with his boy toy and his boy toyās boy toy (my ex situationship) and told me how all 5 foot 2 of him tricked a mob boss into saving all of our lives i might kill my self in front of him just to prove a point
The more I think about the differences between how the Trojans show affection vs how the Foxes do, the more I come to the conclusion that they unwittingly created the perfect environment for Jean and Neilās arcs respectively.
Take for example the way Cat and Laila show Jean affection. The forehead kisses, the hugs, the endless reassurance and compassion. It may go without saying but Neil wouldāve hated it if he ended up in that situation. He wouldāve booked it faster than you can say Wesninski. But Jean? I mean sure he was baffled at first, but the way he grows to lean into it? The way he shows affection the same way back? Jean needed that brand of affection in a way Neil wonāt ever. He needed to learn that he was deserving of such love; that there are people out there now who cared about him as deeply as he does them.
Neil on the other hand needed to learn a whole different set of lessons. The Foxes showing him that they care was less such obvious displays of love and more about patience in the face of his complications. More about their willingness to stick by him when the fabricated life he clung so hard to unraveled at the seams. Jean wouldnāt have flourished as much in that environment because he didnāt need understanding as much as he needed love. He didnāt need someone to help piece his life back together as much as he needed someone to love what was already there.
Neil is like an innocent looking stray cat that the foxes still kept even when they got bit; while Jean is like an abused show dog that the Trojans nurse back to health. And good lord do I love them both for it.
imagine you are fbi agents trying to nail down the biggest case of your career and you just can't stop running up against college athletes who you need as witnesses but they won't take your help and just keep saying "but, ball is life??" when you suggest they go into witness protection
āyou know i get it-ā
watch me immediately start sobbing as soon as i open up to the first page of tgr
We have always existed, and we always will.
I know in canon Jean is very negligent of his attraction to people, like he ignores it and hopes it goes away, but I canāt stop picturing him being SUPER pissed whenever heās horny.
He liked Kevin and look how that turned out. He sees Kevin doing something hot and now is just like āfuck you. God I cannot fucking stand you, you horrible arrogant man.ā
He watches Jeremy change in the locker room and grabs his locker door so hard it creaks. Steaming out the ears with a killer scowl on his face. Someone asks if heās okay and he grits out āI am fine.ā In the chilliest voice imaginable.
He watches Renee make a killer save during on of the Foxesā games and just goes āI am going to burn this house down with all of you in it.ā Cat, Laila and Jeremy are so fucking confused.
Out of touch, out of time.
another redraw prompt from twit bc I!!!! Agree!!!!
Okay, I might be pulling this out of my ass but since that finals match was in Evermore that means the foxes should have been wearing their white away jerseys. Which means: the final match was a game of chess.
Not only are they wearing white, but they have first serve (Dan won the coin toss), and near the end the Foxes' king (Neil, because this is a battle between Riko and Neil) changes positions with the tower (Matt, a defenseman that towers over most people) creating the illusion of a castling.
And right there at the end, Riko attempts to kill Neil because they're in front of each other, but that's not how kings work. In the time it takes him to take that step, Andrew closes the gap and strikes. Check mate.

Babes, I have a bookstagram that will almost most definitely become a Sunshine Court tribute page come February 22nd. Come hang out for bookish content. Iām talking book binding, fanfiction, some mainstream books when I actually get around to reading it, and bits and bobs of editing / writing advice for those of us who dream of cracking into that fictional realm they call āØwriting a novelāØ
Sounds made up but my cousins brothers dogs best friends owners cousins baby momma over heard her hair stylists second cousinās girlfriendās dogs cousin say itās like an actual thing people do⦠crazy.
Real lmao
No, Iām crying. Itās so true.
I was bored and decided to read some good-reads 1 star reviews and was reading the reviews for the foxhole court. I got a little annoyed and made an account just to argue with people why theyāre wrong⦠I have no regrets this is really fun
