So I'm down 5 pounds, it does feel good, but I'm also really wanting to have faster results. (Who doesn't?) Any way, (Eat)ster is this weekend. Did you know that Easter in the US is when the most candy is purchased? I would have thought it'd be Halloween. So fitfam good luck to you staying on track or getting back on track. Either way it's an accomplishment.

Lunch Olilo Salmon Toubouli bowl
Trying to get at least 10k steps a day
Dinner last night Lately I've been wanting "bowls". This is salmon, quinoa, homemade tzatziki, sweet carrots, and homemade salsa over a bed of mixed greens. Should have put it in a bowl, oh well.
I am just really on the struggle bus right now
It's about to hit 2pm, the time my fast ends in my IF schedule. I have a protein bar and some pretzels in my backpack. I haven't tried this flavor before. I'm honestly not looking forward to it. I'd much rather have some real food. It's a struggle go not just buy something from the vending machine here at school. It's frustrating thinking through every food decision and not being able to just be like "I want a cookie, let me go get a cookie". It's not a simple as "just say no and move on". I mean, sometimes it is, sometimes I can say no and continue right on with my day. Then sometimes I say no, and then a little bit later I have to tell myself no again, then again. The benefits of avoiding junk food, eating healthy, and exercising seem so far away in the context of "I'm craving this thing right now". I know it's not like it is going to take "forever" to see results. I guess I'm just writing this post to hold myself accountable, recognize my feelings, post them and prevail anyways. One minute at a time.
Down 2 pounds I debated posting a pic because 2 pounds at this weight doesn't really show. But, I want to record the whole journey. Honestly I was hoping I would have lost more at this point, but I know I can do better, make healthier choices, and incorporate some more exercise.
Tomorrow is weigh in day I'm nervous and excited. Here is something I enjoyed last night, got the idea from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". Anyone else check out that new season on Netflix?
Homemade salsa
I made this last night, I like it because it’s an easy way to add some flavor to whatever I am eating without adding fat and sugar. In a pinch you can just throw it on top of some brown rice and call it a meal.
Ingredients- tomatillos, roma tomatoes, jalapeno pepper, garlic, onion, cilantro
I boil the first four ingredients for about 3 minutes then I throw all the ingredients into a blender, salt and pepper to taste
I normally wait til it is completely chilled in the refrigerator before using it, it's one of those things that taste better if it's had a chance to sit
