World Galgo Day brings awareness to the plight of the Galgo in Spain and the cruel ways they are raised, trained and killed.

Today is World Galgo Day. If you are unfamiliar with the plight of the galgo (aka Spanish greyhound) you can learn more here. February 1 was designated World Galgo Day because it is the end of the hunting season there, and thus the day many of the dogs suffer abandonment and worse. There are galgo rescues/adoption groups in the United States, the UK, and other countries. Please consider helping those rescues, or even consider adopting a galgo yourself.
(Keep in mind, these are NOT racing greyhounds, this is a different breed and a different situation).
A couple of good sites are: SAGE (Save A Galgo Español) Galgos Del Sol Love, Hope, Believe Galgo Adoption, Inc.
dude if you want anyone to feel like shit just respond with ‘ok’ to all their messages like forreal

STORY TIME KIDS. Lucas Grabeel who played Ryan Evans was 100% for making Ryan canonically gay, and spoke to Kenny Ortega at length to get Ryan to at least hold hands with a male student in the final scene. Grabeel is straight but thought it was so important for Disney viewers to see gay characters on TV, knowing that the HSM3 viewership was age 11+, when kids may start thinking about who they’re attracted to a bit more. basically Disney gave Lucas a flat out no and as a response wrote in Ryan’s relationship with Kelsi last minute (as speculation was already flying around about Kelsi being a lesbian). so even though disney screwed them over ortega told grabeel that he could do whatever he liked in the blooper reel and they’d include it in the DVD. hence above.
I reblog this every time its on my dashboard and I’m not even approaching embarrassed.
Wouldn't it be even better to show sensitive guys who are straight and rugged guys who are gay?
Like I don’t know what else you people need
White men to not be the political power majority.
Where was this when all the white boys on my fb were offended that I said I was more likely to die at the hands of a white boy than anyone else
These are awful stats, as in the statistical methods are shite. Why compare raw numbers when percentages would make more sense?
What are your opinions on pinch collars for dogs? The trainer I hired to help our blue heeler with her dog aggression refuses to use anything else and Im not sure how I feel about it. It seems like they would be painful and im worried that it being painful it would reinforce her aggression not help it ya know?
You are completely right. Pinch or prong collars work exactly like choke chains, but with even more discomfort and pain. You should never use aversive training tools to try to deal with reactivity and aggression issues because they escalate the dog’s discomfort and almost always make the behavior worse. Run, don’t walk, away from that trainer.
What about a martingale collar? It is known as a humane choke collar, and only provides gentle pressure. It is commonly used for sight hounds with heads smaller than their necks

Look at KB coming through
Every time you see this, reblog it. There is always someone in college that will see this.
My best advice is to scour your local goodwill or Salvation Army for an older version. The versions almost never matter.
Nicknames
Got a question about nicknames. I think every pet get nicknames from their Human right? My Human gives us all nicknames. Some of the most used for me are ‘Stinkie’, ‘Neus’ and ‘Ribbenkast’. Which are translated to English: ‘Smelly’, ‘Nose’ and ‘Ribcage’. Human finds them, except Stinkie, all very fitting for me.
Any nicknames over there?
Katie’s main nickname is “Toochie” which, I mean…… I have no idea…. What does that mean? It’s like we slapped a bunch of random letters together and decided it fit her. Idk man
Oh and “Cakey-chay” which is equally as strange and random.
Miller’s nickname is Fella… She gets called fella more than her actual name
I usually call Aang “Pup” but he also gets “Son”, “My child”, “Honey”, and “Darling” quite a bit.
Regulus gets “Reg,” “Reggie,” “kiddo,” “goober/goober-butt,” “bud,” “turd-butt,” and “banana nose.” Dad also calls him “Bilbo” and “Bilbo Baggins.”
“Mr. Wiggy Waggy”
Skittles very rarely gets called “Skittles” at home. “Bibbles” and “Pretty Girl” are the most frequently used. Rebel gets “Reb” a lot
Tybee: Tybus, Tyberius, Tybeebee, Beebee, bubba, sheltie boy, poopypoo, puppy boy, boo boo, son.
Delta: Doo doo dog, doodle, D, Delty, Deel-tuh, Doodle doggie, Delta Janey-Jane, girlfriend.
A lot of Exi’s nicknames won’t make sense to anyone here since they’re in Polish, but most often I call him ‘Pipi’ and various versions of it (Pipuś, Pipka, Pipula). Also 'Myszka’ what translates to 'little mouse’.
Jake is stretchy, stretch, sniffy, jakers, pretty princess, or monster
I bought him this ball yesterday and he’s not letting go of it even for a moment. He discovered that he has to drop it from some height to turn the lights inside it on… Now he does it all the time. Also, it’s squeaky. Best toy ever.
Where to find???
People easily spend $30 on liquor but tries to find ways to illegally download a $2.99 game
Yeah, same.
He'd be a lot cuter with natural ears :(
I am currently in a nursing BSN program and have a little less than 2 years left and have decided for sure that my ultimate goal is a PA. What frustrates me is that my school doesn't offer most of the class's that I need as prerequisites so after I finish I will have to apply to a 4 year college to get my prerequisites done and then apply to pa school. Is that even possible after I will already have my bachelors of science in nursing? I would switch out but I think the experience is great.
I agree, I think your experience as a nurse will be invaluable and I would encourage you to work for at least a year before applying to PA school. It’s true, you will need to take a “step back” and essentially go back to undergrad to complete your prereqs for PA school. It’s ok, it happens. I had to do the same thing. I actually took my classes through a community college, so applying wasn’t a huge process because it was just for a few classes.
Anyone else out there have to apply back to a 4 year university to complete prereqs? What was the process like?
If you already have a bachelor’s degree, you don’t have to apply for readmission to a 4 year university. Most universities have a college called the College of Continuing Educaiton. This is the school you would go through to take those prereqs. It’s as easy as finding the forms and meeting with a guidance counselor.
Pros: you can set your own schedule and do things pretty independently. You can hop into classes without having all the prereqs and get special permissions. If you are strapped for cash, there is a post-bac federal loan totaling $12,500 to help you pay for classes to get into grad school.
Cons: at least where I am, we continuing ed people are the LAST to register. Yes, even after freshman. If you really need a class and the department is super strict, it can be hard to get in. Additionally, if you aren’t taking at least 12 credits, you might not qualify for certain student benefits like tuition payment plans.
Alternatively, there are schools that do post bac programs specifically for this purpose. In those situations, you don’t compete as much for registration. The programs are full of people like you, which means better support. These programs aren’t SUPER common.
I ended up reapplying to a 4 year state school to redo my pre-reqs. Side bar, I was like 29 when I did this and it was super weird going to my high school to request a copy of my transcript. The whole application process was just like applying for college all over again otherwise.
The benefit of this was, since I had a ton of credits already, I got first dibs on classes. That allowed me to make a class schedule around my work schedule.
If you will already be a nurse why not go the NP route?
Whenever someone says “Recent studies have shown…” I am immediately skeptical
The press exaggerates research findings, but it's better than "I saw on Facebook that..."
Laundry is the job that never ends, you’re making laundry while you’re doing laundry.
