They’re Oblivious, But Adorably So
Saiki stared with a distant look in his eyes as people bustled around him, some getting ready to play baseball, others just practicing for a relay race the school was hosting. And he was blissfully unable to hear any of their thoughts due to his geranium ring that glinted in the sun, fitted smoothly over his long, pale middle finger.
The cause of his distant stare was Satou Hiroshi, who happened to be stationed right across the field from the physic as he chatted with a friend before the practice relay race begun. His face was lit up in a smile, obviously excited about whatever the subject of their conversation was.
It was, honestly, quite adorable, the way Hiroshi would gesture wildly with his hands to add ‘pizzazz’ to what he was saying. His eyes shined a honey brown as the sun shone just right on him, highlighting his dark hair and adding a shine to smooth, pale cheekbones.
Kusuke had adjusted a few things with his glasses, resulting in Kusuos’s x-ray vision being extinguished as long as his glasses remained on, and his said bothersome brother was still working on something easier to subdue the x-ray vision, something that was more ‘compact’.
But the pinkette was content with just his glasses, being able to see what Hiroshi looked like, and not through a photo was enough for him.
Sadly, though, there was also a downside to no longer having the x-ray vision, he was forced to see all the blinding smiles Teruhashi would send his way. She was pretty, but, at least for him, there was no brilliant wave of happiness that he felt when she ‘graced’ him with her presence.
Though, regardless, it was nice seeing Hiroshi, with his smiles, the way he tilted his head just a tad when he was confused, how a delicate, red, blush would settle its way across his cheeks, the bridge of his nose, and the very tips of his ears when he got embarrassed.
Kusuo let out a soft sigh, a smile adorning his face without permission as he observed the boy that unknowingly held his affections.
Of course, unbeknownst to him, a certain ‘angel’ saw it all, albeit, a misinterpreted version of it, not that she was aware of that, she still saw it nonetheless
And when she did, she froze, a halfhearted (not that the other person knew) conversation with an adoring fan immediately being put on hold. Saiki had just smiled. At her.
Saiki had just smiled at her, had he finally seen what an amazing match she would make for him? While he was a little stoic and sometimes bland, she wouldn't mind, after all, the perfect pretty girl would never judge someone!
'This is perfect, I’ll finally be able to get Saiki to say ‘ofuu~'!'
The bluenette knew that she would be able to bring him out of his shell, he was just shy! That’s why he avoided social situations, but not to worry, if he was by her side, he would be a popular, social butterfly in no time!
Of course, she would have to carefully goad him into asking her out, she could never be seen as the one asking the other person out. And, as the perfect pretty girl she was, she would bashfully accept his confession and date proposal with a delicate blush on her face. Imagine how happy Saiki would be! His confession and date proposal being accepted by the Kokomi herself!
He would be so flustered he wouldn’t know what to do with himself!
Across the field, Satou Hiroshi was acutely aware of a gaze on him. And when stole a quick to the source of such a gaze, he was met with Saiki Kusuo’s deep purple eyes on him.
The other boy he had only met on a few separate occasions, but when he did, he attracted Satou’s attention almost immediately. Saiki seemed like the quiet type despite usually having quite a few people around him.
He gave off a calm sort of aura, which was undoubtedly what drew people in. The usual stoic face he wore was very rarely replaced with something else, like whenever one of his friends was hurt, there was just a brief spark of worry in those purple depths before the pinkette tsked and suggested they go to the nurse, or helped them bandage themselves.
There were also times a look of fondness was settled on his face, it was a nice look on him; his eyes seemed to soften and though there wasn’t a huge smile, there was a delicate lift of his lips. It was really endearing, at least Hiroshi thought so.
But this time, when Satou allowed himself another quick glance, he saw that there was a smile on the boy's face. A soft smile that made Hiroshi’s face warm considerably, a smile that made the deep depths of purple look that much more enticing.
Forcing himself to look away, the dark-haired boy felt a blush make its way to the tips of his ears as they started to burn. Saiki’s smile was nice, really nice. And Satou could only wonder who, or what had induced such a thing.
Too enraptured by the sight of Saiki’s smile, the dark-haired teen was none the wiser to his friend attempting to get his attention.
It was pretty obvious to anyone at PK academy that Saiki Kusuo and Satou Hiroshi had crushes on each other, they weren’t exactly subtle with their soft glances, lovesick sighs, and wistful eyes.
So when some saw the smile on Saik’s face, it was quite obvious who had been the cause of it, as there was only one person who had such an effect on the usually quiet stoic boy.
Now, if only the two could see how much they liked each other. Seeing as everyone, save for Saiki (and Teruhashi) was perfectly aware of the blush that decorated Hiroshi’s face.
