I guess I feel up to this. My splatoon OCs or their BUP/Adrift versions, I will do character-letter-number combinations you send me over at this blog. However, since I’m new at this, I may not do everything and might decide between the splatoon/BUP version of any character you specify.

It’s been forever since I posted here remotely frequently. But I’ve been on a three-week vacation and oh boy did my hands slip! I got so much stuff for you guys that an announcement is warranted!

So @tamarinfrog is now making her running start on her original series Bottled Up. We know little ATM but what little we have seen and learned sure looks intriguing. Check it out! Also, it’s not Splatoon’s setting which, while brilliant, is a bit confining.There’s that too! So I followed Tammy’s footsteps a bit and converted some of my Splatoon OCs (which I like well enough) to whatever the “spirits” are supposed to be. It’s liberating to be sure!

I’ve converted six and have ideas for more, which I’ll dub Bottle Adrift. I don’t know if this will solely be for fun or if this will also get somewhere, but that’s a lot already. Too much to just dump on you all at once, in fact! So I’ll probably drop an OC every day.

Soul has problems

So… in case you were wondering where my streams went: I will give you a similar explanation to last year.

Internship.

Except this time it blows big time!

Basically, it’s a tougher project now. I’ve had questionable guidance at the start on top of that, be it from college (which isn’t supposed to be particularly helpful given they’re college, but still) or even from ASD-specialized organisations. Needless to say, this caused me to spend several weeks just getting the shit approved by college, and then more weeks figuring all sorts of things out. This leads to… tension between me and my employer, and I work at the same place as before. And I feel stressed and like I’m regressing instead of making progress! Extremely demoralizing.

Long story short, that took a lot out of me. And I never found the time to prepare a stream. Even when I wanted to just skip the planning phase, I was just… out of it.

So when will I stream again? Who knows? I’ll be going on a 4-week vacation this weekend (which also means limited internet), so certainly not then. Hopefully that’ll do me good so I may plan a stream somewhere in august!

That said, don’t expect too much. The MaGMML3 devkit releases in 2 days, and I probably want to focus on my entry so my few months of very early preparation don’t go to waste. Speaking of MaGMML3, I may or may not stream it so that may also influence my project of choice.

I told you there was more where this came from! In fact, the above came first and was what Ruhi worked with.

First came the assholes of team Regallon. Now another team has come to challenge them, with most of its members being octoling and/or underground one-way or another. Sian, an inhuman, scarred battler who may also remind you of a certain conductor. Gaspar, whose frequent splatfest visits and horrible fashion sense got him the title of “splatfest jabroni“. Beyrl, one of the best (and few) battlers in the Dojo... And then there’s Silver, the only inkling on the team, sin incarnate, and... captain?

Or are things not what they seem?

Stay tuned. I may color this in a few months.

There she is! God, this was a bit of a challenge. Did you know Splatoon 2 skin colors are actually quite different from Splatoon 1 skin colors? Because they are, and we kinda ran afoul of that among other things. I was a bit of a tough customer this time and I do feel somewhat bad for that still because that was entirely on me (and I learned a lot from this XD) BUT...

It was worth it, I now have Emerald (her Splat2 version at that) and Carl! And hey, now I know what green lips look like on her. :P

So this content was dead, but as it turns out someone on LSS apparently missed Emerald, even if it’s been several months since I last drew anything Sploon related. Heartwarming enough to get me to doodle

...and when I set out to doodle, I end up drawing! XD

Then I end up coloring this in Slowachia only to find out I’m not as good at that as I used to be. It’s been a ride as always with the simplest of things, but ‘t was fun!

Life continues in Inkopolis. It's as eventful as can be for the Inklings, a hedonistic people that enjoys life to the fullest. There's been two separate thefts of the city's primary source of power, the Great Zapfish, both courtesy of antagonistic Octarians. Salmon Running, a dangerous practice during which invaluable power eggs were harvested from the Salmonid race, was invented by Moray Incorporated. They were later overtaken by a shady competitor with no standards, known as Grizzco. During all of these events, most young Inklings carry on with their Turf War competitions and parties.

This life, of course, isn't without risks. Octarians are catching wind of the Salmon Run practice. One crew of Grizzco has found their boat sunk in the middle of their harvest. And Moray's prestigious Salmon Runners are still going strong. Something fishy about these events appears to have caught the attention of Great Turf War hero Flying Squid as well as his grandson, Carl Oldenburg. Carl may idolize his grandfather and the other agents, but when he decides to Run with the rest of team Emerald Play, he experiences firsthand that their duty was a heavy one.

And some of Inkopolis' dark depths come to the surface.

The one that could pass as a spy fic

Just because this blog is pretty much dead doesn’t mean Splatoon is never on my mind. If I were to do any more Splatoon content, it’d probably be an original story where Splatoon’s setting meets a Bond-kinda story (though not as dark as I made it out to be). Let’s be real here, if I do anything else there’s certainly several artists or writers that do that better. ^_^’ After watching Tomorrow Never Dies two days ago, I was in the mood to at least write the above blurb.

Still, expect this later than sooner: With other things going on, such as internship, preparations for MaGMML3 and the 1-year anniversary of Fire Emblem Heroes, there’s plenty to do. And also, most splatoon things I do tend to be ignored, which isn’t exactly encouraging either.

It’s still content though, and maybe a teaser of things to come.

So uh...

This blog may be going on a bit of a hiatus. I’ve been a big fan of Megaman for years, and also game design is a thing I enjoy. A few years ago, I had to mostly abandon these things because I wasn’t going to have a whole lot of time. Splatoon filled the gap, and marvelously so.

Recently however, these old interests have returned in full force. Not to mention I’ve done everything I wanted to do with my OCs that isn’t a tremendous effort, like a comic. Nor do I have quite so much support that I feel like making the attempt.

I may occasionally reblog a splatoon thing or two, but for the most part this blog is going to be fairly inactive. Maybe my squids will return in a way, but don’t count on it.

Accurate. This splatfest was literally something to wipe your behind with. US gets the very international halloween splatfest and meanwhile we get a very shitty horror story instead. Oh well, it was fun to pretend this wasn’t a total brainfart of a splatfest. XD
