Look, you kinda have to make Ford refuse to open the portal to save Stan if you want to make a Reverse Portal AU happen, but I've always felt this bended his character. Like, just based on how quickly he was willing to deal with Bill when the kids got caught in the crossfire.

I dunno, I think presuming he'd actually sacrifice his family for the Greater Good doesn't give him enough credit, and weirdly enough, buys into his hype.

Once read a Reverse Portal AU where he tried to fix it, but got caught by the Society of the Blind Eye whilst running to get more fuel, and thus had all his journal/portal knowledge erased. Good fic.
