So with lockdown happening again, I have finally done a razor restoration. Been meaning to do this for ages. Got this razor in a job lot on ebay. It was very rusty and the scales were cracked at the joints. So I removed the scales and soaked the blade in vinegar for 20mins then brushed it with a steel brush. I then used 220 grit sandpaper to remove the chip and any pitting and rust I missed. Then worked my way up the grits to 3000 grit. I then added new scales (plastic ones) that looked similar to the original, I used micro bolts instead of pins. I plan to remove the scales again and use a dremel to try get a mirror polish. I doubt I'll get all the patina out, but I'm fine with that. This razor I think is more than 50 years old (could be 100 but I can't find any information on it), so to me I am fixing a little bit of history!
