the book scene where dubois and shapiro tell grace they’re having sex is really interesting. it’s not just that’s he’s uncomfortable talking about sex (although he very much is) it’s that he doesn’t understand why they would have sex if one of them is guaranteed to die in space soon. they kind of included this in the movie (when he asks stratt why everybody is partying and hooking up if they’re all gonna die)

there’s another line that stood out to me in the book, where amnesiac grace initially finds his dead crewmates, and he goes “i hope they weren’t friends of mine!” which imo is a crazy thing to say upon finding two corpses

it’s not just that grace avoids forming close relationships, it’s that he avoids it (in part) in order to avoid experiencing loss. really interesting character trait especially knowing he has no immediate family (did they die? is that why he’s like this?) not even a pet (is he scared the pet will die?)

I still wanna mess with their designs but I made them fatter as they got older and now they’re more domestic. Keeping her pink hair cause it’s too cute, I desperately want her to be 50 and still using pink shampoo or something.

Zane gets short hair because he hides himself less but I actually don’t know what to do with the mask. I think he would wear it in public but not as often around close friends and family. Also I need to rewatch mystreet or watch a BUNCH of compilations to get references.

I am following the typical “omg guys do you remember mystreet?” thing, but I do remember being fond of these two soooo very much. I remember my Kawaii Treat Maid Sweet Cafe shirt I begged my mom to buy me when I was like 10. Hopefully I draw them more.

Haven’t been on in months, but I’m missing Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz like a mofo. I’m thinking about it and just going through my favorite parts like Isabel having this backwards way of thinking, or Sasha just being the best ever??? Like what the hell Sasha? Be unreasonable for at least one page, stop being so understandable and good for Isabel! The bars of my enclosure are suffering :(

I know the algorithm on twitter and here is beating my ass for this one but I do want to express how thankful I am that the impact for this comic is exactly what I was hoping for to the audience that can see it :)

I wanted to leave this comic and every aspect of it open ended to interpretation and I'm glad it did its job! Like I said this comic took a lot more time than I was expecting to even be able to dedicate to a piece as large as this so I'm incredibly happy it's been received with such high praise!
