Love listening to WASPs complaining about refugees on the land their ancestors came to to escape persecution. 🐸☕️

I am flat out crying. Out of anger for the failure of the justice system. Out of outrage for the assumption that a rapists right to an untainted future is more important than his victim’s. Out of sadness for a girl who will struggle everyday with her sexuality, with her unfounded guilt, with feeling out of control and separated from her own skin, with never being able to drink again because she’s too afraid of what might happen, of after somehow by the grace of god, managing to muster up the strength to face her rapist, to open herself up to the probing and prodding of her life to determine whether or not she is allowed to identify as a victim, she was told that her pain and suffering isn’t worth ‘tainting’ a young man’s future. Because he had big plans. What about her plans? What about her plans not to suffer from crippling guilt and fear and judgement? Not to cringe when her boyfriend touches her or feel ashamed when men look at her? What about her plans not to have to look everyone who heard or read about every detail of the worst night of her life in the eye? That’s just not as important as this young man’s dreams to go to the Olympics. This judge should be ashamed of himself. How is six months in county jail adequate punishment for violating and stealing the autonomy of a you woman? This is a slap in the face to every victim everywhere. They may as well have acquitted him. This is why I do what I do. Because I understand that trauma. Raising money to help fund CAMH
Hey friends, As some of you may or may not know, mental illness is something that has touched my family greatly. I myself am bipolar and many in my family have struggled with other illnesses. Mental illness is at times debilitating and it it is so easy to want to give up. People say the nights are the hardest, so me, my mother and my best friend are partnering with CAMH for One Brave Night to raise money for their mental health programs. Please consider donating, give whatever you can, as every little bit helps.
Having a v emotional day today and want to give a shoutout to all you beautiful people out there who may be having a hard day/week/month/year; You are so much more than your pain, you are so much more than your past. You are more than trauma, more than victims, and you have not been forgotten. I am so sorry that you live in a world which disregards your pain and I know some days you are tired of fighting. That doesn't make you weak, it makes you human. You are allowed to be angry, allowed to feel betrayed, allowed to feel hopeless, but you can never give up. You are warriors and you are not the problem. Remember when you stumble and feel alone; we are always by your side, behind you, ready to carry you until you feel strong again. To the good fight ❤️ @tbyborg

We produce female clothing several inches shorter, quite a bit tighter and with overall less fabric, and then get mad when women wear them. We tell them to cover themselves, and then criticize women who wear long pants and baggy shirts for being 'frumpy'. We tell women they are defined by their 'beauty' and sex appeal and then call them bimbos or whores when they use their bodies to sell. We teach women that just by being women they are inherently wrong, 'sinful', that they're bodies are cause for outrage. Then we wonder why our girls suffer from self esteem issues.

I'll play the villain to your hero if you're not ready to face your fears. I'll take the blame for all your anger until you're ready to admit that you're not as tough as you think you are. I'll be the big bad wolf, I'll be your boogie man if you need to project the blame on someone else. I sure as hell won't wait around, but when I'm gone feel free to cast the blame on me until you realize this is all on you.

Every selfie I post is an act of self-love. It is making up for the hubdred of thousands of times when I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. For the millions of times I judged myself on the way my body was shaped and the all the times I punished myself by restricting my food because I couldn't appreciate my physical form. That's what my selfies mean to me. They are little moments of self love to remind me that I'm beautiful just the way I am. What does your selfie mean?
a little doodle I did about the politics of women's bodies and the fact that they are treated as public property that requires legislation
Dear Millenials, If we're not careful, we're going to see ourselves fighting the same battles our ancestors fought less than 100 years ago. We're already seeing the re politicization of women's bodies with birth control and abortion access being limited (a battle which was fought and won in 1973 with Roe v. Wade) and the police 'lynching' of black lives. This is real and it is happening. Every time you say that you 'don't need feminism' or 'there's no need for activism' you are building up the prison, brick by brick, that our ancestors fought so hard to tear down. There are so many other battles to fight, why regress and fight the same ones over again?

So beautiful. Couldn't have said it any better, Biden! Please like our page on Instagram and help us reach as many survivors as possible. You are strong, you are fierce. You are a warrior.
The Oscars is a representation of the popular. If Hollywood makes a hundred movies starring white people and one starting another ethnicity, chances are the nominees are gonna be white. That's the root of the problem. Start making movies with more diversity and we'll start seeing more diversity come award season.

Today I'm thankful for my health and my happiness. I haven't always had them.
PSA: Men need to stop getting so offended when we talk about the problems of the patriarchy. We are not talking about you. The patriarchy is not a gender, or a person, it is a power structure which regulated society. Both men and women propagate, benefit and are hurt by the patriarchy.

Imagine if scientific institutions got the same tax breaks religious ones do. Imagine all that money going into curing disease, preserving the planet and bettering the quality of human lives rather than government sanctioned indoctrination. Imagine if we started taxing churches. Imagine what that money could go towards. Ahh, but I dream.

Here’s the deal: Aligning yourself with men’s rights ‘activists’ is spitting in the face of women and feminism everywhere. Men are not oppressed by the system, they are privileged by it. Men’s rights was started as a reaction by petty, insecure men who felt that the degradation of women was intregal to preserving their masculinity. It is mocking the movement that gave me the right to own property, to vote, to be an autonomous person, something men have never had to fight for. It is founded on the basis of keeping women down. That is the fundamental difference between feminism and meninism; feminism was built on the concept of building women up and gaining equality. Meninism was built on the basis of keeping women down and maintaining a hierarchy.

This is the biggest strawman I’ve ever seen. You need to research what you’re talking about. Not harassment or anything, just saying that you’re wrong.

I have. And I have provided my reasons for thinking this way. MRAs are an insult to people fighting for their humanity and they are largely run by misogynists. I can provide my work cited if you’d like.
(via clearviewmirror)
If you do cite it, it’s still a strawman. If you dont know what that is, it’s a logical fallacy in which someone misrepresents and lies about someone’s views or agreement to make it easier to attack. Which is clearly what you’re doing. The MRM is founded on actual issues that can be seen today. Nothing mysoginistic about it.
(via biokid17)
I know what a strawman is. And I disagree. Regardless, they often try and make feminism out to be an oppressive movement rather than inclusive. Of course this debate is largely interpretive and there is very little objectivism that can be applied.
(via clearviewmirror)
But you’ll refuse to see any merit from the MRM and acknowledge your use of a logical fallacy. I’m honestly sick and tired of being called a sexist and a mysoginist for merely criticizing feminism. Even though I don’t think feminism is evil and oppressive, the accusations still fly. You should watch Rachel Moore’s video “How to be a Feminist”. I’ve actually talked to her, and I told her that I’m an MRA, she’s not a bit as combative as you are. She’s actually open minded unlike you. Not a single cry of sexism from her.
(via biokid17)
I have never called you sexist or misogynistic. I have not attacked you, and I have not fought you. In fact, you have not actually made an argument or given any points. You’ve merely said you disagree with my opinion. Don’t put words in my mouth, and don’t assume you know me. I am not going to stand here and defend my open mindedness.

You said and I quote “Anyone who aligns themselves with men’s rights ‘activists’ is spitting in the face of women and feminism everywhere.” I associate with them, therefore I spit in the face of women everywhere. Right?
(via biokid17)
Did I call you sexist? Did I call you misogynist? Nope. But, I will say that I believe MRAs are a mockery of feminism and I will stick by that statement. There is no question that women are oppressed, that women are in danger and that women are treated poorly in the majority of sectors of the world. When men come around and say that they are being oppressed, they are grossly misinterpreting the meaning of oppression. That is my opinion. That is how I see it. You may disagree with me and that is your prerogative.
