Jewish Tommy Shepherd headcanons
I’ve thought about these for a while but I just typed these out so I thought I’d post them here! I will add more as I think of them. People don’t talk about Tommy being Jewish enough so I hope everyone enjoys!
He learns to make latkes during Chanukah and uses Erik’s mother’s recipe
He constantly uses Yiddish insults and knows more than Billy (who also constantly uses them and knows a lot)
He tries to organize a Magnet Fam shabbos dinner at least once a month
When ever he needs his own space he runs to Israel, usually Jerusalem or Masada
He and Billy will plan attacks in front of villains in Hebrew, German, or Yiddish
He teaches Luna how to make Challah
He laughs and texts the team anytime he sees a Young Avengers themed kippah
He switches suits with Billy for Purim and gets a really cheap brown wig (and Billy gets a white wig) and everyone can’t believe how realistic their costumes are. Mrs. Kaplan was shocked that they did this at first bc she was worried about their identities being revealed but by the end of the night she thinks it’s really funny
He and Billy go on Birthright and March of the Living
Once Tommy starts to learn more about Judaism, he has a Bar Mitzvah (in his early 20s)
Mrs. Kaplan teaches Tommy how to make matzoball soup and he makes it anytime someone on the team is sick
If Tommy isn’t spending holidays with the Kaplans, then he spends them with Wanda
Wanda is also the one who taught Tommy how to make challah
Billy and Tommy spend one Sedar with the Kaplans and the other with the Magnet fam
He tries to keep kosher as much as he can but with his increased metabolism it’s sometimes hard

—A continuation of the idea of Billy & Tommy as The Quantum Physics Bros! Because if Billy controls matter & energy and Tommy controls time & space, then by working together they’d be able to control gravity and black holes, right?
AND THEN: Following the strain of scientific thought that says black holes rip open pockets in the fabric of the universe, and those pockets are new universes, then … instead of Billy being the Demiurge, Billy & Tommy together would be the Demiurge, wouldn’t they? Which would change quite a bit of the plot of YA vol. 2! Anyway, that’s my current sandbox idea. ( •⌄• ू )✧
