everyday i wake up and attempt my silly little tasks while daydreaming about fictional characters
light was such a loser cuz he didnt just google the 100 richest people and start writing down names
how would you feel if you woke up tomorrow and find out exactly 100 of the world’s richest people died of heart attacks at exactly noon universal time. can you imagine the theories. light is absolutely a loser for not doing this
So, what are your thoughts on a business savvy, ninja trained, merchant!Sakura? Obviously it won't happen in the fic, but how does the idea make you feel?
BAMF!Business savvy Sakura
My thoughts are it’s a great idea! A few days ago I just so happened to come up with a story just like what you’ve described:
When Tsunade dies in the middle of a war, neither Kakashi nor Naruto can take the hokage position because they’re too important at the front lines (Sasuke’s still gallivanting about after Itachi) and the same goes for Shikaku’s role as Jonin commander, Inoichi’s too important at T&I, etc. Somehow, Sakura ends up getting the job as a temporary replacement, if only because she used to spend so much time helping Tsunade with her paperwork before her passing. Severely depressed she may be, but everyone realizes that Haruno Sakura already knows all the ins and outs of ‘hokagedom’ – and her attempts at showing anyone else the ropes just lead to confusion and wasted time. (“What a drag… why don’t you just pick her if she already knows all this stuff?”) As time is a precious commodity in the midsts of war and right after the assassination of a kage, Sakura gets shoved into the position, much to the rest of the village’s chagrin. They all basically think she’s just a useless figurehead, a temporary replacement who can’t even fight well but will do for now.
…except then she actually starts getting serious about things. Within a few weeks of foming into office, Sakura finds the nidaime’s old renovation plans that he never got around to finishing before he got killed, right along with his more obscure research notes. She begins to put these plans into action (with some modifications and updates of course, but still, the man was brilliant and she’ll be damned if she too, were to ignore his brainchildren). Tentatively, she dips her toes into the field of jutsu creation and fuinjutsu. She begins to devour his notes like a woman starving. She figures out the truth of the Uchiha massacre. As it happens, no once can refuse her now when she asks for extra training, no matter in which area. Sakura is the hokage, after all. But that’s not even the half of what she does. She begins researching more deeply into various topics, she puts all her family-acquired knowledge on business managing and marketing to good use. She starts changing things…
…and hell does it make an impact. For the first time since probably the nidaime, Konoha actually has a kage that not only does her paperwork but is also good at it. They have a kage who actually knows how to make a business work. They have a kage who both understands the shinobi’s perspective but also knows what needs to be done on the civilian side of things… THEY HAVE A BAMF!Paper ninja kage and it’s freaking terrifying.
Konoha’s GDP shoots through the roof. The Academy curriculum gets expanded drastically and in direct correlation with an exponential improvement in civilian kids’ performance. Shinobi businesses’ marketing strategies go through some very large modifications. The public budgets grows like it’s nobodies buseiness after Sakura buys the production rights for a specific type of plant that just so happens to be the key for a new invention of hers that revolutionises various fields. Hospital staff quality increases. A certain Itachi Uchiha gets tracked down and hauled back to Konoha right under everyone’s noses (without them none the wiser), courtesy of the newly unearthed hiraishin. The hokage’s ANBU guard slowly but surely develops an unwavering sense of loyalty and respect toward their new superior. In that vein, certain weeds get upRooted and taken care of once and for all… This time, neither Shikaku nor Inoichi end up dying tragically as casualties of war. In short, a lot of things change.
Basically Sakura turns the village into the most efficient Konoha of its history. Naturally, all the people who never believed in her suddenly feel very good about themselves and their choice of hokage and those who actually knew Sakura are left gaping, wondering what the hell happened.
Fin :)
So not sure whether I’ll actually write the story down but to answer your question: yes, I very much like the idea of a business savvy Sakura (who happens to be hokage).

Y’all I am DYING.
Yesterday an agent invited me and @reylotrashcompactor to send her a writing sample during a Twitter pitch event, which in and of itself is lovely. But when I DM’d her about something (I had a legitimate reason, I wasn’t just being an overreaching asshole), she told me that one of our mutuals recommended my SasuSaku fanfiction to her!!!
I just feel so vindicated right now. I’ve been ridiculed for writing fanfic for years, both online and off. From now on, whenever someone tries to tell me fanfiction is useless, or that it will hurt my writing career, I can point to this and say “Well, ACTUALLY…”
All the people who like to shit on fic for being a girly, second rate form of writing can suck it. I’ll just sit over here drinking my tea while a talented agent with 20 years of experience in the industry reads the first three chapters of my manuscript.
Because I write good fanfic about magical ninjas kissing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
HELL YEAHHHHHH!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
FANFIC WRITERS, GET IT!!!!!
"unhinged" is the only way to describe a lot of tumblr lol. the discourse is so disconnected from reality, it is amazing.
friends to almost-lovers to enemies to a friendship resurrected with lingering love and lingering wounds that can either be carefully bandaged or left to fester
when i say i gasped....
ItaSaku shippers
Tell me what’s the appeal? I’m very interested to see how this ship comes to mind. I see it all the time and my curiosity is finally being peaked
Fanfic suggestions are 100% appreciated
This fucking hellsite ATE MY POST so here my second attempt to respond sans screaming and hair pulling lol!
There are so many different answers to this question! I think it largely depends on *which* incarnation of Itachi a given shipper prefers: pre-reveal villain!Itachi, post-reveal martyr, non-massacre AU, canon divergent, Akatsuki!Itachi, double agent…the list goes on forever, and this ship is older than you’d think.
That said, I personally am in it for the slow burn enemies-to-lovers potential. With gratuitous use of forced proximity causing humanization. And leading to tentative friendship and confused attraction. The BEST UST mmph!
Much of the fandom seems to rely on a cold, somewhat robotic characterization of Itachi to be considered IC, which sells him short, imo. There’s so much more potential!
Some headcanons of their similarities: both intellectuals, natural strategists and planners; loyal to Konoha to a fault (bonus points when played as a genuine flaw); deeply concerned with ethics and Doing The Right Thing (tho Itachi always gets it wrong the first time round like a true extremist); both care about their loved ones more than virtually anything else.
I believe Itachi tempers some of Sakura’s hotheaded recklessness, while Sakura brings out some of Itachi’s repressed passion. I see them as deeply compatible teammates who make each other better. I come back to this ship time and time again because of my perception of their fundamental equality and respect for each other. *fans self furiously*
For fics, I confess I am a Fandom Crone, so I’ve only got older ones. Since I prefer enemies-to-lovers, these tend to put political conflicts between them at the center:
Anything by Cynchick is a wild ride: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1059896/Cynchick
Leafygirl is classic: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/588480/leafygirl . The Ninth Night in particular is great introductory oneshot that does a lot of heavy lifting in a short time!
Lady Silvamord (https://www.fanfiction.net/u/545474/Lady-Silvamord) also finds herself on my faves list, but it’s been a long time since I’ve read.
Of course, I love my own fics as well (am I allowed to say that? I hope I’m allowed to say that LOL!): https://www.fanfiction.net/u/928704/rabid-behemoth
These two are super fun to write!
If you decide to do some reading please come back and tell us if you’re into it! Always thrilled to see more ItaSaku love in the world. It doesn’t get as much attention as other ships but there’s so much good energy there ;_;
EDIT: Imma tag my fav KS shipper @neonanything because after all these years of friendship (and neighborship!) it’s time you understood this side of me, too, if you ever dare come back to tumblr dot com!!!!

Another Genmaweek and we need your help!!! Let us know what you want to write and draw this year! The more input we get the better our event will be.
For the people who are out there “fighting the good fight” and “trying to make fandom a better place,” I have two important questions for you:
1. Is the author dead? x
2. Is your baby in the bathwater? x
What do I mean by those things? Let’s start with #1. The Death of the Author is a type of literary criticism, the extreme cliff notes version of which is that art exists outside of the creator’s life, personal background, and even intentions. I’m using it slightly differently than Barthes intended, but that’s okay, because the author is dead and I’m interpreting his work through my own lens.
In fandom, the author is dead. In fact, the author was never alive in the first place, not really. The author has only ever been the idea of a person, because unlike published fiction, the only thing we know about a fanfic author is that which they choose to tell us about themselves.
Why is that important?
Because it might not be true. Hell, that happens in real life with published authors, who have SSN’s on file with their publishers, who pay taxes on the works they create and have researchable pasts. If the author of A Million Little Pieces could fake everything, why can’t I? Why can’t you? Why can’t the writer of your favorite fic in the whole wide world?
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: “you can only write about [sensitive subject] if [sensitive subject] has happened to you personally, otherwise you’re a disgusting monster that deserves to die!!” Or maybe “you can only write [x racial or ethnic group] characters if you’re [x racial or ethnic group] otherwise you’re racist/fetishizing/colonizing!”
You can play this game with any sensitive subject you can come up with. I’ve seen them all before, on a sliding scale of slightly chastising to literal death threats.
Now, I could tell you that I’m a white-passing Latina whose grandmother was an anchor baby. I could tell you that I speak only English because my family never taught me to speak Spanish, something which I’ve been told is common in the Cuban community, though I only know my own lived experience. I could tell you that I’m mostly neurotypical. I could tell you that I’m covered in surgical scars. I could tell you lots of things.
Are any of these true? Maybe! I could tell you that my brother has severe mental development problems, so uncommon that they’ve never been properly diagnosed, and that he will live the rest of his life in a group home with 24-hour care. Is that true? Am I allowed to write about families struggling with America’s piss-poor services for the handicapped now?
Am I allowed to write about being Cuban? After all, I did just say that I’m Cuban. But is it true? Can I instead write a character that’s Panamanian? Maybe I really am Panamanian, not Cuban. Maybe I’m both. Maybe I’m neither. Maybe I’m really French Canadian. Should we require people to post regular selfies? I can’t count the number of times I’ve had someone come up to me speaking Arabic, and I’ve been told that I look Syrian. What’s stopping me from making a blog that claims that I am Syrian? Can you even really tell someone’s race and ethnicity from a photo?
Am I allowed to write about being a teenager? Am I allowed to write about being a college student? Am I allowed to write about being an “adulty” adult? Can I write a character who’s 40? 50? 60? How old am I?
All of this is to say: you can’t base what someone is or is not “allowed” to write about on a background that may or may not be real. No matter how good your intentions. And I get it - this usually comes from a place of well-meaning. You’re trying to protect marginalized groups by stopping privileged people from trampling all over experiences that they haven’t suffered. I get that. It’s a very noble thought. But you can’t require a background check for every fic that you don’t like.
If you say “you can only write about rape if you’re a rape victim,” then one of three things will happen:
Real survivors will have to supply intimate details of their own violations to prevent harassment
Real survivors will refuse to engage and will then have to deal with death threats and people telling them to kill themselves for daring to write about their own experiences
People who aren’t survivors will say “yeah sure this happened to me” just to get people to shut up
Has that helped anyone? I mean really - anyone??
So now let’s get to point #2: is your baby in the bathwater?
If your intention is to protect marginalized people from being trampled upon, stop and assess if your boot is the one that’s now stamping on their face. Find your baby! Is your baby in the bathwater? Which is to say: find the goal that you’re advocating for. Now assess. Are you making the problem worse for the people you’re trying to protect? Does that rape victim really feel better, now that you’ve harassed and stalked them in the name of making rape victims feel safe?
Let’s say you read a fic that contains explicit sex between a 16 year old and a 17 year old. Is this okay? Would it be okay if the writer was 15? 16? 17? Should teenagers be barred from writing about their own lives, and should teenagers be banned from exploring sexuality in a fictional bubble, instead of hookup culture? Is it okay for a 20 year old to write about their experiences as a teenager? Is it okay for a 20 year old to write about being raped at a party as a teenager? Is it okay for a 30 year old? How about a 40 year old? Is it okay so long as it isn’t titillating? Is it okay if taking control of the narrative allows the writer to re-conceptualize their trauma as something they have control over? Is it okay if their therapist told them that writing is a safe creative outlet?
Is your author dead?
Is your baby in the bathwater?
Now let’s take a hardline approach: no fanfiction with characters who are under 18 years old. None. Is the 16 year old who really loves Harry Potter and wants to read/write about characters their own age better off? Should they be banned from writing? Should they be forced to exclusively read and write (adult) experiences that they haven’t lived? Will they write about teens anyway? Should they have to share it in secret? Should 16 year olds be ashamed of themselves? Should we just throw in with the evangelicals and say that the only answer is abstinence, both real and fictional?
Let’s say that no rape is allowed in fiction, at all. None. What happens to all the hurt/comfort fics where a character is raped and then receives the support and love that they deserve, slowly heal, and by the end have found themselves again? Are you helping rape victims by banning these stories? Are you helping rape victims by stripping their agency away, by telling them that their wants and their consent doesn’t matter?
Is your baby in the bathwater?
Fandom is currently being split in two: on one side, the people who want to make fandom a “safer” place by any means necessary, even if that means throwing out all of the marginalized groups they say they want to protect - and on the other, people who are saying “if you throw out that bathwater, you’re throwing the baby out too.”
The whole point of fandom is to be able to explore all kinds of ideas from the safety and comfort of a computer screen. You can read/write things that fascinate you, disgust you, titillate you, or make your heart feel warm. This is true of all fiction. People who want to read about rape and incest and extreme violence and torture can go pick up a copy of Game of Thrones from the bookstore whenever they want. Sanitizing fandom just means holding a community of people who are primarily not male, not straight, not cis, or some combination of those three, to higher and stricter standards than straight white cis male authors and creators all over the world.
There is nothing you can find on AO3 that you can’t find in a bookstore. Any teenager can go check out Lolita, or ASOIAF, or Flowers in the Attic, or Stephen King’s It, or Speak, or hundreds of other books that have adult themes or gratuitous violence or graphic sex. The difference is that AO3 has warnings and tags and allows people to interact only with the types of work that they want to, and allows people to curate their experiences.
Are these themes eligible to be explored, but only in the setting of something produced/published? Books, movies, television, studio art, music - all of these fields have huge barriers to entry, and they’re largely controlled by wealthy cishet white men. Is it better to say that only those who have the right connections to “make it” in these industries should be allowed to explore violence or sexuality or any other so-called “adult” theme?
Does banning women from writing MLM erotica make fan culture a better place?
Does banning queer people from writing about queer experiences make fan culture a better place?
Is M/M fic okay, but only if the author is male? What if he’s a transman? What if they’re NB? Who should get to draw those lines? Should TERFs get a vote? What if the author is a woman who feels more comfortable writing from a male character’s perspective because she’s grown up with male stories her whole life, or because she identifies more with male characters? What about all the transmen who discovered themselves, in part, by writing fanfiction, and realized that their desires to write male characters stemmed from something they hadn’t yet realized about themselves?
How can we ever be sure that the author is who they say they are?
Who is allowed to write these stories? How do we enforce it?
Is it better for none of these stories to ever exist at all?
Have you killed your author?
Have you thrown out your baby with the bathwater?
this post is AMAZING.
In this house we stan one boy and one boy only 💥

my toxic trait is going through character tags on social media and just going “no. thats not what he looks like. he wouldnt say that. thats wrong. thats in character but not funny. thats wrong. i hate you.”

PLEASE REPORT ART REPOSTERS
We have found that these istagram profiles are reposting many Sasusaku/Naruto Art
https://www.instagram.com/soy.uchihaaaa/
https://www.instagram.com/uchiha.sasuke.666/
Please report these profiles and or their posts.
Also if you know the artists let them know.
Reblog this please so more people can help.
Artist must have the proper credit for their work.
Spread awareness that art should be repost with the artist permission and with the proper credit.
@vettyart @vaieart
Guys please spread this around! One of the reposter pages even got into contact with @vettyart and had the audacity to accuse her of it not being her art when her initials were cropped out and the picture got edited, they also lied about finding the picture on google and had the audacity to accuse Vetty of being a bad person and cloutchaser because “art is about the art, not about the artist”. Repost pages that don’t even bother to ask for permissions from the artist do not deserve to have a plotform, not here not anywhere else. I said what I said. SUPPORT ARTISTS NOT THE REPOSTERS WHO DON’T THINK WE EVEN DESERVE THE CREDIT FOR ALL THE HOURS WE PUT INTO OUR WORK TO SHARE WITH THE FANDOM FOR FREE!
You can report their profile/account, or you can report individual pictures.
If you recognize individual pictures, maybe indicate which specific ones aren’t theirs?
I went ahead and clicked “Report Account” and indicated they were making posts of content that wasn’t theirs. (Which this individual indicates RIGHT ON THEIR PROFILE PAGE, wow.)
Have at!
In my experience, reposted artwork will only be removed from an unauthorized reposter’s Instagram account if a DMCA report is filed by: (i) the artist directly, or (ii) a third party who has written consent to act on the artist’s behalf.
The proper channel to file a DMCA report on Instagram is HERE.
Below are step by step instructions on which fields to select for artists who are filing DMCA reports directly to remove unauthorized reposting of their artwork on Instagram:
Step 1. The automated form will ask you “What right is being violated or infringed”? Select “Copyright”.
Step 2. Next, select “Continue with your copyright report”
Step 3. Upon submitting the report, you should receive an email confirmation from Instagram support with a unique Intellectual Property Report Number.
Note that the Instagram support agent who is assigned to your complaint will likely respond seeking additional information.
(In my experience, the process can vary depending on the agent you are assigned. Some agents are incompetent and may ask for the same information multiple times. Apparently, this is not uncommon, so please don’t get discouraged. Just keep giving them what they ask for.)
Once your report has been processed, you should receive a notification stating something along these lines:
“Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention. We removed or disabled access to the content you reported for violating the Instagram Terms of Use. We understand this action to resolve your intellectual property issue.”
Hope this helps. 🤞🏻
