She kept hinting that some of the art she drew was inspired by this fic so I just had to know.

I hope I did it justice. Here’s a little snippet:

“The girl's gaze now and then turns to the body of one of the strongest and most dangerous men in the history of shinobi. Struggling to her feet, Sakura rummages in her hip pouch for the remaining food pills.

Throwing one into her mouth, she glances again at the Uchiha, almost gagging. She freezes taking a defensive position, peering intently at him, without blinking. She thinks she saw his chest rise, as if inhaling, that a thin strand of hair slid from his forehead. Are these hallucinations caused by mental and physical exhaustion?”

CHINA. Beijing. April to June 1989. Tiananmen Square massacre.

The Tiananmen Square protests were student-led demonstrations in Beijing in 1989. The students called for democracy, greater accountability, freedom of the press, and freedom of speech, though they were loosely organised and their goals varied. At the height of the protests, about a million people would assemble in the Square (see picture 2). The protests were forcibly suppressed after the government declared martial law. In what became widely known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre, troops with assault rifles and tanks killed unarmed civilians trying to block the military’s advance towards Tiananmen Square. The number of civilian deaths has been estimated at anywhere between hundreds and thousands.

Public memory of the Tiananmen Square protests has been suppressed by the authorities since 1989. Textbooks have little, if any, information related to the protests. Print media containing reference to the protests must be consistent with the government’s version of events. Following the protests, officials also banned controversial films and books, and shut down a large number of newspapers. Within a year, 12 percent of all newspapers, 8 percent of publishing companies, 13 percent of social science periodicals and more than 150 films were banned or shut down.

Currently, many Chinese citizens are reluctant to speak about the protests because of potential repercussions. Many young people born after 1980 are completely unfamiliar with the events and are apathetic about politics while older intellectuals no longer aspire for political change and instead focus on economic issues. Youth in China are generally unaware of the events that took place, of the symbols such as tank man (see last picture), or of the significance of the date June 4 itself. The entire surface of Tiananmen Square was later resurfaced, to remove evidence of blood stains left there after the crackdown.

Synopsis: The Moon has played a cruel trick on Madara. He's still home, but it's not the same. Instead of a tranquil forest, there's a colorful vibrant village. Instead of the cliffside he knows so well, it's a collection of Senju faces, one of which belongs to his good friend Hashirama. And instead of Hashirama, Madara is saddled with a very interesting, pink-haired girl.

Officially one of my FAVOURITE MadaSaku fics out there. No, sorry.. one of my favourite fics of all time 😍. This was written brilliantly and it captivated me the entire time. I love loveee the way Madara's character was written. He was rough, a bit aggressive, etc, but it was so in character for a person who came from the time he did (and one that was likely less progressive than modern Konoha). He was not your typical perfect male character, imo, which is what made him all the more enjoyable to read. This was cute, fluffy and sweet. The smut was a bonus 🤭. Horny Sakura is a treat 😂

I can definitely see myself revisiting this again in the future. ♥️

Update on the Plagiarism-Busting

- all my fanfiction.net fics have been updated (as in, chapter content removed and replaced with the Thanks For Plagiarising~! wording instead. My kids told me I should have just written “penis” a hundred times and are quite disappointed in me for taking the semi-honourable route… #1 son went so far as to teach me the ASL for “penis”. Just another nice, wholesome family moment for us here at the clanstead)

- Today I cleared the cached versions of the 20 or so copies (of my fics) on ff2ebook that I found yesterday… only to find a dozen additional fics had been added overnight.

- I also found another site that copies/caches fanfic and distributes it in ebook/other formats. THIS SITE, though, provided contact information. I’ve reached out to them to ask if they can please put my AO3, fanfiction.net, and fictionpress username/stories on a blacklist. They’re aware of the current plagiarism issues. They immediately started working on a test/example URL I provided.

To everyone: I’m sorry this is taking so long. I had really hoped to be done by now, but it’s after midnight and I need to care for my kids first thing in the morning as one is on new meds,  #1 hubby is still recovering from his concussion and I am absolutely fucking exhausted.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has been reporting the plagiarism occurrences to me, helping me find ways to combat it, and generally sending supportive messages. <3 If I don’t have the full plagiarism issue resolved by Sunday, March 6th, 2022, by the time I go to bed, I will at least release another bit of the finale for “Pop the Top” on my Dreamwidth account later this week. Unfortunately, in my effort to take Friday off (to run to medical appointments and errands) so I could write this weekend… I lost all my writing time to this plagiarism issue. My next time off is in April.

I’m sorry. I tried so hard to make time to write this weekend (even taking a freaking day off work), and it just isn’t going to happen.

I tried.

On an ironic note, I’ve been receiving frequent comments/PMs about the fanfiction.net fics asking where the fics went and telling me they tried to download/did download them and now they don’t work.

… I haven’t had this many fanfiction.net comments come in since I was publishing “Forest Fire II” in 2016, 6 years ago.

Update from Sunday, March 06, 2022:

1. Still working on ff2ebook fic-cache-replacements. I’m down to my last four (4) fics to replace in their archive. Unfortunately, I’m running into problems replacing these ones. I’m clicking “Force update”, however it is timing out. Possibly too many hits? I don’t know. I know, when I first checked ff2ebook, I had a little over 20 fics. The next day I went back, there were between 30-40. So it’s taken longer than expected, and now with this block on replacing these last few fics, I’m a bit stuck. I’ll give it some time and try again later this afternoon or evening. It’s the same four (4) fics every time, too. It’s weird.

2. The ‘other site’ I mentioned above? 100% awesome to work with. They  removed my fics from their caches and blacklisted my name/URLs so that no more fics will be pulled from them. I won’t post the site’s name here, considering that when I posted ff2ebook’s site name my fix-it work took a 50% spike, but I will say they were very accomodating, were aware of the plagiarism issue and were quick to help me remedy it. They do have another cool tool in the works that captures the names and meta data of fics (NOT the fic content itself) and helps you find other/similar/recommended fics to read based on that fic. It sounds pretty cool! Kind of like a, “You may also like…!” feature. We’re keeping a dialog open to talk over a few potential improvements, and me possibly giving the all-clear to allow my works to be sourced through their site again in the future, once the plagiarism issues are resolved. They’ve been very open with me and I really appreciate their cooperation.

3. Unfortunately, with these last few weeks having been a bit… more emotionally challenging… my doc has upped one of my meds again. We had been working towards a ‘meds reduction’ plan, but that isn’t to be at the moment. We’re back to ye fun ‘perpetual seizure watch’ again.

4. Thank you again to everyone who has left me supportive messages and offered to help. The best thing we can do at the moment is locate fics that have been copied to other websites (Wattpad being the worst of them so far, tbh; it’s a perpetual den of thieves) and submit DMCA take-down requests. If you find my fics anywhere other than AO3 and ff.net (and my Dreamwidth account/community), PLEASE let me know immediately.
