BLOG STATUS?
VERY MUCH A BEGINNER BLOG!! I used Tumblr obsessively back in 2021 but I lost touch with it due to all the overwhelming posts in my feed. I am back now with a different account and a different device, so I'm still getting used to how Tumblr works these days. I know, I'm fuggin old.
So with that in mind, I very much have no sense of organization and have no clue what I'm doing half the time. All I ask is for your patience and understanding, please. 😊

It's a playlist detailing my own little TvM AU called the How They Live AU! Nothing special, it just focuses more on the characters, their dynamics, and how they process all the VERY traumatic experiences they go through as a found family! And I'm posting this here because I just really wanna talk to someone about a dumbass Spotify playlist and describe what each song means because I'm fuccin insane! No need to indulge further though, you can go about your day, maybe give my playlist a listen, and just exist. Idc. Have fun!

So first song is about The Slaughter that takes place before season 1. Nothing too special. I just imagine everyone fighting for their lives, people dying, the usual "I'm Not An Animator But TS is FIRE!!!"
Next song, Rot For Clout describes Triangle and Monkey's shallow rivalry while in The Cube, but with an added hint of existential psychological horror crisis! Because in this AU, Mechakong isn't just sitting around for 3 months, nah. He's actively keeping an eye on Triangle and Monkey, and if any of them start remembering their past, he steps in to make sure they forget. So now Triangle has to battle not just his greatest foe, but also his own mind. Trauma!!! Yayyyy!!!!
Dizzy Paranoia Girl is mostly just Monkey's internal thoughts as time goes on in seasons 1 and 2. How he feels useless compared to Triangle and Noodleneck, who both have what he can offer and more. Refer to his piece of dialogue where he basically says exactly this to Triangle at some point in I think season 2. Didn't know where to put this so. Insecurities!! Yippeeee!!!!!
The next 3 songs are legit just imagined AMV's of seasons 1-3. Miracle Musical fuccin CARRIES this playlist istg. Ruler of Everything is in Mowcuss' POV btw!
Make You Wanna is essentially a peak into the twisted mind of Mowcuss. I really like the idea of Mowcuss being both an incredibly logical, no-emotions, diagnosed sociopath, but a highly illogical, insecure, "I am your God" type of guy. Someone who genuinely thinks he's in the right but also knows deep down that there's a type of wrongness to it all.
("I am the rot and the ache beneath your skin, I am the angels sent down from above, I am the cancer swimming deep in your blood. Praise be the Heavens, praise me I'm the Lord!")
All I need is... A bit heavier on the themes of the AU. It dives deeper into Noodleneck's and Mowcuss' dynamic and their budding friendship as the months go on. The ending is especially inspired by sharkfiinn's Pressure animatic for the same song on YouTube, plz go watch it cuz it brought many a tear to my dry-ass eyes!
Doctor and I'd Rather Sleep are placed kinda awkwardly here. Doctor represents Mechazilla actually, and his/its desire to be wanted/needed by someone. Especially considering his waning relationship with Mechakong. Ofc, Noodleneck (The "Doctor" in terms of the song) and the others come around to fill that empty void, though even Mecha realizes this stint of friendship isn't meant to last. (Envision Noodleneck's dream from like the first minute of season 4 lol)
The rest of these songs just highlight the little passage of time in between seasons 3 and 4! As everyone starts to learn more about each other and get along, and as they help each other through their darker moments. More will be touched on in the actual AU when I start posting about it.
I'd Rather Sleep represents Triangle's own insecure and downer thoughts about previous events. His lack of understanding of it all, his refusal to move on, and the depression that will eventually follow.
Devil Town is nothing special, just an inner AMV of season 4 as a whole. I have so many mind AMV's yall it's getting unhealthy. 🥲
I forgot the name of this next song in English so I'm sorry, but this Teto and Miku song is basically just parts 50 and 51 combined. The plot of the original song is of 2 time travelers. One gets stuck in a temporal time thing, like literally lost to time, and the other (Teto) is desperately trying to reach her friend. Eventually they both give up contact, though Miku does become more frantic and depressed, and they don't even get to say goodbye. I imagine a more metaphorical AMV style when listening. I envision Triangle and Monkey both dealing with their respective fights, Triangle being Miku and Monkey as Teto, but in-between there are moments. Monkey is frantically searching for Triangle in an empty black void. There are mushrooms. Triangle does not appear in the same void, instead being represented as these mushrooms, but only the blue ones. The blue mushrooms get overtaken by purple mushrooms which represent death/injury, and then grapefruit-colored mushrooms surround those purple mushrooms, and all the while Monkey is still searching.
OKAY OKAY THAT WAS A PARAGRAPH AND A HALF. WOW. WHOOPSIES.
Flightless Bird is ANOTHER NOODLENECK ADJACENT SONG!!!!!!! FFFUCK YEAHHH, JUSTICE FOR MY GUYS!!!!! This song goes more in detail about Noodleneck's thoughts and feelings on everything that's happened not just in the last 7 months, but their whole life. It does mostly focus on losing Kevin and having to uh. Tear Triangle open and then stitching him back together again. And the trauma that comes with all that. Depression and PTSD can be a real bitch when you have 2 brains both feeling relatively the same things lmao

The Winner Takes It All is just Triangle getting taken and forcing himself to work for the bad guys lol. Nothing special to talk about here. Just trauma. 😘

(Isle Unto Thyself specifically is about Triangle and Monkey's opposing sides trying to Get Shit Done, and the despair that comes with Troy's side Getting More Shit Done. Afterburner is the depression, burnout, and anxiety that comes with all the actual abuse that Triangle gets put through. This poor guy lol)
OOOIOHOHOHOHOHOOOO KARMA. OOHHHHH KARMA FROM ALIEN STAGE, YOU WERE A GROWER BUT NOW I'M A LOVER.
This song specifically dives into Russel of all characters and his relationship with Triangle! How they met in this AU cuz I know nothing about their canon counterparts, what they did for fun, how they made each other smile... And then their eventual downfall. It's not really explained and I'm still figuring out why rn, but Russel does get kidnapped to "Be a witness/warning to those who oppose Destroyah" or smth. Triangle eventually finds the time to gather up a bunch of resources and steal things the others would need to get more of an upper-hand. Then, on a night when he's sure they'll be alone, Triangle takes Russel away to take him home. Russel doesn't wanna leave without Triangle. Fight ensues, the song plays, yaddah yaddah you get the deal.
(Don't wanna put too much here yet cuz I will write the scene as a fanfic later down the line but uh. Just listen to the version of Karma with Mizi's monologue in it. You'll understand.)
Bang Bang Bang is the final battle against Troy! Idk what to say here except uh. Yes it is becausr of this sobg that I figured out how Triangle could realistically beat Troy, especially with all his goons. And yes, it is actually because of a nuclear bomb.
Aaaaaand Impister Syndrome does in fact confirm that he did lose half his face, more of his arm, and a whole foot from the explosion because Triangle is an idiot and stood directly next to the goddamn nuke. One of the smartest characters, you guys. Round of applause. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
And now we are FINALLY in the home stretch!! I'll keep it brief, but all these songs are the aftermath of the final fight with Troy and everyone trying to Deal With It. The cope is so strong during I'll Believe In Anything lmaooo

Okay, so uh. Turns out I've been working on this damn post for. An hour. Didn't mean to do that, I just wanted to talk about my current favorite playlist! 😭 Sorry chat, hope you can understand!

Gotta LOVE having 2 seperate AU's for the same thing that both follow very similar, if not the same story beats for certain parts, so when I get to those certain parts, I will have to WRITE. THE SAME EXACT SCENE. BUT TWICE!! BECAUSE THEY'RE STILL DIFFERENT!!!!
Headcanon time: when someone from the color gang begins some kind of serious conversation, one of them begins to address the other not as "Green", "Red", "Blue" and so on. And by its code color(HEX-cod), like:
And then poor Mecha is just like "Yes I am the dad of this household but I have zero authority because I can't do anything on my own but I have all of the vibes."
But yeah, poor Noodleneck is going THROUGH IT right now. Can only imagine the amount of heart attacks they had when they realized Triangle wasn't there. And even though they now have Triangle, nothing and nowhere is safe for them all. Triangle can barely breathe, let alone fight! Cole and Russel are helpful but clueless, Monkey's going through his first revenge arc, and Troy is still out there! Noodleneck is handling all of this on their own because unfortunately they're the most capable right now, and they just. Have to live with that. They have to deal with Troy, Monkey, Triangle's MANY WOUNDS ALL ON THEIR OWN...! Like. Man, can this poor dragon please get a break at some point?? Please BBP I'm begging.
Just got this random idea that what if after everything with Troy (And after Triangle gets fuccin BEAT UP by him and his crew for reasons), after he's killed, everyone goes back home to rest and eventually heal but then Triangle. He thinks he was stuck with Troy for 2 months. And that's how Noodleneck finds out he has PTSD and head trauma which resulted in him having SEVERE short-term memory issues! Yippeeeee!!
(As in he remembers very certain basic and key moments in his life like meeting Mothra or The Slaughter, but doesn't remember Mothra's name, face, or what she meant to him. Same thing with everyone else, though it varies depending on how important they are to him.)
So then cue everyone pitching in to make a super cool awesome deluxe dlc edition memory notebook for Triangle, complete with scribbles and doodles from Cole and Monkey, and even some from Russel! And then flash forward a few months when the house is almost rebuilt and Triangle regularly writes new and old memories in his multiple journals and uses them to cash in favors or promises that not even Noodleneck can remember lol
He becomes the most menace of all the menaces because of this and no one can say no lest they risk him just forgetting everything again and Triangle fuccin KNOWS THIS. He uses it to his advantage every time and he loves it.

1. Welp. Now we know why the house was so easily destroyed. Monkey, you used FUCKING DRYWALL.
2. I will forever hold on to the idea that secretly everyone wanted more people, more life in the house, and that's why they left the extra space. That's why there's so much room. That's why. And so when Cole came along, once the shock wore off, Monkey's first thought was probably "Well if he's my bio brother, what's the harm in- Wait a minute excuse me TRIANGLE WE'RE DOING WHAT NOW??????" (This is all just a hypothesis btw lol)
3. The idea that Monkey is a relatively creative little guy and just came up with this floorplan outta nowhere one day and then showed it to the others that night. He was probably downplaying it. Saying it was nothing. It was just a dumb idea. They didn't need to follow through. He probably felt so stupid as the others just stared at his hard work, Monkey's creation that he poured so much love into. And then they held onto it. Followed the instructions to a T. Triangle wrote the stickynote and put it on and never brought it up. Monkey found it. He also never mentioned it. Noodleneck found it and immediately hung it up in the frame. Nobody ever mentioned it. And now it's broken, and Monkey really really wants to mention it.
4. The note btw by Triangle, it's just. IT'S FUCKING KILLING ME, MANN!!! That is possibly the nicest thing he's ever said or written to Monkey holy shit. And now the frame that HE SUGGESTED is broken. The glass shattered. There's. There's some kinda meaning in that, I can FEEL IT, but. It's so sad omg.
Oh man, I am on a roll, aren't I? I think 4 or 5 posts in the span of 24 hours wtf???
Anywhizzle I just wanted to write down my thoughts on part 52 because. Guys we fumbled SO BAD YALL. OUR PREDICTIONS WERE SO MUCH ANGSTIER THAN IT TURNED OUT TO BE LMAOOOO
So! The List. Of uh. Triangle's injuries.
It was going to keep going.
That's what gets me the most about his situation, honestly. Not the severity of the wounds, not the internal bleeding, sort of the 60 BROKEN BONES?????? But it was how long Noodleneck kept talking. How long it took Ichi to get through just that. How Monkey got increasingly more and more ready for murder. How he had to flip the damn table over and break another mug because he couldn't bare to hear it anymore. How Ichi barely managed to get through that just on its own. 6 injuries listed. 6. Ichi sounded so dead, hollow, nearly robotic while going through that list of 6 things.
That is what got me the most.
Now okay THE FIRST SCENE?????? EXCUSE MEEEE?????????? SIR. SENOR. MR. BLUNT BROTHERS PRODUCTIONS. JEFFERSON BLUNT.
YOU CAN'T DO THAT SHIT TO MEEEEEEEEEE!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Monkey BOLTED through that portal, jumped through it like his life depended on it! He brandished weapons brought along to PROTECT TRIANGLE, and when he saw the sorry state his friend was in he literally dropped everything right there and LUNGED. THAT WAS A LUNGE! THAT WAS NOT JUST RUNNING, MONKEY FUCKING LUNGED AND THEN HE STAYED THERE AND SAW WHAT TROY DID TO TRIANGLD AND JUST. AAAAAAAAUUUUGGGGGHHHH MY GOODDDDD THIS FFFFUCKING SHOW, MAN
The. The framing btw right after where it shows everyone else leading the way back to safety and then it cuts to Troy and his goons. I'm sorry there's so much to talk about but AS AN ANIMATION NERD, this part SLAPS. HARD. And it also serves as a good form of reference for who each party member might represent if Triangle ever accidentally ends up seeing a bit of the bad guys in his friends, like a visual hallucination or something. Because I know DAMN WELL that head trauma was on Ichi's list of injuries. Remember, Monkey simply stopped listening. There was going to be more. But yeah that shot was sick af and I wanna see something like that again maybe possibly perhaps in the future
Now that OTHER scene with Triangle and Monkey?? I... Have thoughts. The. The scene with them talking in the tent btw, it was a really really good scene and killed me I died, I died from murder. And it does a really great job of showing just how fucked everyone is and how hopeless Triangle's become. Which is fair because I mean LOOK AT HIM,

But it truly shows us the growing identities and philosophies of these characters now. All of them.
- Monkey is angry. VERY angry. He's mad at Troy, at the world, and his friends because HOW DARE he let something like this happen to his closest friend, his brother?? So he wants to lash out, to fight, to kill. Poor Monkey has no idea how truly powerful Troy is and what he can actually do. The only thing he's thinking in this moment is "He hurt my brother. He hurt my big brother and he is going to pay for that." Troy is obviously gonna die, but I don't think like this. We've learned from the past that revenge isn't always the best course of action, and getting caught up in the moment for the sake of revenge is even worse. But as we can see, Monkey can ONLY think in the moment. We see it with the cliffside scene, the "We should get some rest" scene after Triangle gets some trauma, we see it in the battle at Mowcuss' base with the rocket launcher, and we've seen it when he fought Mowcuss solo after Triangle had been stabbed. Monkey is a very "Here and now" type of person, focusing on what matter to him in that moment. His focus right now obviously being Triangle and Troy. What happened. What he can do to fix it. To make Triangle better. And right now, in his anger, Monkey's only solution is MURDER. Which honestly I'm with him KILL THAT BITCH!!!
- Noodleneck seems to be much more focused on the future and how certain actions and events affect them and their friends. They're scared, or more so TERRIFIED of Destroyah and what he can do. Ichi tries to cheer Monkey up by ststing Troy could've done worse. That Troy could've easily killed Triangle. In their heads, Noodleneck's probably already come up with 15 different ways that Triangle could've died, and it's all simply because they are afraid. Not for themselves, not because of the past, but for the future. We see their forward thinking s decent amount in the show too, we see it in the bar when they're going over all their possible options and downfalls. We see it in the scene where Ichi's knocked out and Ni is forced to take initiative. We see it in the moment where Triangle wakes up basically already healed in the season 3 finale, all thanks to Noodleneck. They think about the future, anticipate it, and cower from it. And that is VERY understandable considering the circumstances lol
Aaaaaand there are so many others I wanna touch on, especially Triangle, BUT I HAVE TO SAVE IT BECAUSE I GOT SHIT TO DOOO 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💔
