"Yo, Kurama!" Yusuke yells, running up to the slightly older male - well, slightly based on his human l i f e . . . "I bought some chocolate for Keiko, but? Apparently she's too mad at me to accept them. I was wonderin' if you'd like 'em?" He'd even gotten a part-time job to buy them - but? apparently that didn't make up for all the near-death scares he'd left her with. . . Oops? "Happy Valentine's Day, pal. I know you're probably already drowning in chocolates, but? Eh." Shrugs.

Valentine’s Day generally wasn’t a pleasant day for thefox demon. Breaking young ladies’ hearts wasn’t exactly something he enjoyed. (Anymore, that is. Years ago, in the demon world he’d taken a certain amount of satisfactionand pride in the act. )
Still, most of the girls insisted he keep the chocolatesregardless, despite his insistence that they give them to someone who could properlyaccept their feelings. And so, the redhead’s messenger bag was now crammed fullof various confections that he’d most likely be unable to finish. And hell, thiswas just the first batch! There were still some tucked away in his desk andlocker that he hadn’t been able to fit into his bag…
Hearing his friend’s voice call out for him however, causeda small smile to pull at his lips. Yusuke was a welcome change of pace, especiallycompared to the plethora of girls confessing their affections. ( He refused tocall it love—insisted it was not. None of them knew him, not for what he truly was. )
❝ Yusuke,❞ the fox greeted with a relieved smile. At theyoung man’s explanation and offering, Kurama couldn’t help but chuckle, ❝Isthat right? I’m sorry to hear she’s still so upset with you. I can’t say I’m used to being second fiddle, but if you don’t want them, then I suppose I can take them off your hands,❞ he teased coyly. Despite themhaving not been meant for him, it was the only gift he’d gotten today thatbrought an earnest smile to his face.
❝Though in return,❞ he added, gesturing toward hismessenger bag, ❝I insist you help me with my newly acquired hoard.❞ Shuuichi knew hisfamily well enough to know they would refuse to eat any of the treats out ofrespect to the person who gave them. However, there was absolutely no conceivableway the redhead could finish all the chocolates himself. And clearly throwingthem away was far more disrespectful, right?
❝I refuse to gorge myself on chocolates for a month forthe sake of sparing feelings of people who will probably never know anydifferent. Sharing them with others seems a far better alternative,❞ Kuramareasoned with a soft sigh.
He’d considered asking Hiei if he’d like to help, but the fire demon wouldprobably pick through each of the packages, only snatching his favorites. Thenhe’d have numerous opened confections that he wouldn’t know what to do with…
