my unpopular opinion is that if you forgave mira and zoey for pointing their weapons at rumi during a vulnerable moment (that directly contributed to her wanting to die) because you understand they were confused and scared and trained to kill demons, then you should have no problem with people choosing to forgive jinu for betraying rumi at the idol awards when he’s been mentally enslaved for 400 years. sorry, your moral reasoning is inconsistent at best and hypocritical at worst. ESPECIALLY when by the end rumi herself forgave mira, zoey, AND still wanted to save jinu despite himself.

“but but but jinu got innocent people killed!111!” I’m not excusing his actions, i’m saying there’s context the narrative asks us to understand and contextualize. you can feel how you feel and still acknowledge when someone is acting under long-term control, but so many of you just plug your ears and go “la la la jinu bad!” and call it a day.

and mind you the girls weren’t exempt from gwi-ma’s torture either. one whisper and mira was snapping at and abandoning zoey. one whisper and zoey was compelled to give up. so what do you think 400 years of the same does to a person? oh ok.

So, I was thinking and I came to the conclusion that: there are no good demons, Rumi's demonic side is dangerous (she damaged the Honnmoon more than the demons), and demons have a choice, but are still evil by nature. Rumi asking Celine to kill her is crucial—something Jinu should have done instead of killing hundreds just to avoid feeling sadness. His redemption wasn't worth the lives lost. Celine was right to hide Rumi's nature and not tell Mira and Zoey anything. Ideally, Jinu simply wouldn't help Gwi-ma, and the golden Honnmoon would be saved with far fewer deaths.

Okay. I get the sense that you want me to do the work of figuring out your logic for you, or maybe giving you some framework to use.

Explain how did you come to your conclusion. Use relevant evidence from the movie; make sure to consider and refute alternate explanations and points of view. Address the genre, tone, and theme of the movie in your argument.

People like anon think they’re profound philosophers that have deciphered the true hidden message in a children’s movie that somehow evaded the people who literally MADE the movie.

Rujinu shippers don’t want to see art that shits on rujinu to prop up rumira, just like rumira shippers wouldn’t want to see the reverse.

Rujinu shippers don’t want to see your post about how you hate romantic rujinu but you like it platonically, just like polytrix shippers wouldn’t want to see someone say that about their ship.
