Please watch this and share with those who need to be shown. I don’t post on social media much but this feels very valuable to me, is concise, and is backed by hard data. Voting at all levels of government is the best and most consistent way to enact widespread change in this country. Please, if you are able and willing, vote when you can in your local elections whenever possible.
please fucking vote

I JUST WANTED HIM TO BE MY FRIEND AND HE WAS JUST SALTY
Something deeply painful is the fact that seasons, especially fall, dont feel the same. Not because of individual maturity but because climate change has impacted the weather patterns so so so much that we cant even experience the same annual shifts that our ancestors have for centuries
I feel displaced, i yearn for the spring, summer, fall, and winter that i can barely remember experiencing
To make things worse, if you’re under 50-60 years old, you can’t even remember what normal seasons were like because you weren’t alive to experience them
In the graph above, you can see how there’s a clear tipping point in the late 1970′s, which is when global temperatures first began to really skyrocket.
I was born in 1997, so about 20 years after this shift occurred. There is an immense difference between the climate now and the climate I remember growing up in, but the way I experienced the seasons in my childhood was already fundamentally different from what the seasons were supposed to be like! My parents were pretty much the last generation to experience a normal climate, and that’s just... incredibly sad
I am processing this information in a normal way devoid of rabid rage and bloodlust i am processing this information in a normal wa-
I'm just old enough to remember the tail end of real seasons. I can't express how different it is now.
My wife and I grew up in the PNW and have continued to live here.
We were discussing a few years back talking about how we remembered snow year long on the highest peaks of the cascades and now it barely makes it into May before it’s melted and how small the glaciers look, how much rock can be seen on the big volcanoes from June to October.
Our kid turns 18 soon. They have never seen snow in the high country in summer. We stopped seeing it some time in the 90’s.
My in-laws well is no longer safe to drink from and is dry for most of the summer.
A friend of mine grew watermelons and other plants that shouldn’t be able to grow here.
it feels ominous every year.

It wasn’t boomers who made it impossible to survive on a librarian or gardener’s salary - it was rich people.
Plenty of boomers work as librarians, teachers, gardeners, and so forth, and are finding that as the cost of living skyrockets and corporations take over more and more of the world, that their salary is no longer able to support them.
And thus you have boomers - who understand how much you want to be a librarian because they also work as librarians - going bankrupt, losing their homes, drowning in debt, and dying because of unaffordable healthcare. And they get why you’re becoming an IT specialist instead of a librarian - because they! Know! That you can’t survive! On a librarian’s salary anymore!
On the flip side, the rich people sucking money out of every service and person they can! Aren’t! Always! Boomers! Tons of them are Gen X! And an increasing number are millennials! I haven’t seen a Gen Z billionaire yet but I’m willing to bet there’s a couple by now!
Oh, and it’s not like they “don’t know” how much people want to do these sorts of jobs - they do! That’s how they justify underpaying people, because it’s your passion, you don’t ~need~ to be paid a living wage for your passion.
You have more in common with poor boomers than you do with Kylie Jenner (born 1997). Go and talk to them. Organize with them. You’ll find they have a lot to offer once you stop dismissing them as rich old folks who ruined the economy.
As someone with a super leftist boomer father I feel this

I Am Not Your Asian American Doll: a comic for AAPI Heritage Month 2023
I usually spend a lot of time editing and fine-tuning my comics so that they come across as polite and inoffensive. But honestly, I’m really tired of the way Asian cultures and countries are treated / talked about while Asian people themselves are excluded, and thought it was about time I really let my rage out lol.
