Someone just grabbed my muse by the arm. They look intent on hurting my muse.
How does your muse react to this?
((Sinner and child maxwell))
Of Smoke and Clouds
Lady gave the little boyâs hand an affectionate squeeze, and let him escort her inside. âYouâre quite the gentleman, Maxwell. Thank you!âÂ
She glanced at the photos as they walked in. This had to be the sister Maxwell had mentioned; she might not be blue, but her alien heritage was still clear. Yes, this should be a good chance for her to learn more about carrying a hybrid infant.Â
âWell, to start with, I want to apologize for not meeting you sooner.â Lady turned her smile on Sinner. âIt turns out, we used to run in the same circles. I understand you know a blue man named Vice?âÂ
As a general rule of thumb, War was instructed by his less than merciful counterpart, Carnage, to slaughter any demon. With the trouble concerning the Brothers Six, the Horseman was on edge constantly. His main concern was protecting his beloved Lady. Though it had been a long time, probably centuries, since spotting a hybrid of sorts. It sort of surprised him, to say the least, when the boy all but dragged him and Lady inside the room. But he still could not just suppress that nagging, dreaded feeling after all this time. It could not hurt to be cautious.
âLady has a few questions that she would like to ask you.â War stated the point plain and simply. âRegarding⊠eh⊠children⊠if you donât mind.â
Sinner couldnât help the more genuine smile when she heard the mention of Vice.
âOh yeah. Havenât seen him inâŠ.quite some time but we were close. He even made me this trinket.â
She showed off the wristband that was in orange and brown colors. With his signature V on the plate. At War opening his mouth, she goes back to a neutral state once again.
âChildren. Well, I certainly had my hands full with twins. Nessa is a large head alien hybrid. MaxwellâŠ.well more normal except for his powers.â
Maxwell guided them to the large couch as Sinner closed the balcony door. She made her way to the kitchen.
âTea?â
âVery nice!â Lady cast an admiring look over the bracelet. Her heart ached as she thought of the friend she hadnât seen in months, and she hoped that wherever he and his family were, they were safe and happy. âHe and I were close too. After I left the Doom Syndicate, he was one of the first real friends I made. He even let me live with him for a while.â
She didnât mention that thereâd been a time when sheâd hoped she and Vice might become more than friends. What did it matter now? Heâd never returned her feelings, and the two of them were both happily committed to other people now. She could already see how uncomfortable War was - there was no reason to make things any more awkward.Â
âTea would be wonderful, as long as itâs decaf. You may have noticed,â she chuckled, stroking her belly, âI have to be careful about what I drink these days.âÂ
She glanced over at the picture of the little half-alien girl again. âYes, your daughter is one of the other things I wanted to ask about.â
Yes, this was terribly awkward. The harder he tried to keep collected, the more tense the situation seemed to become. This was important, Lady and he needed this knowledge if the two of them ever decided to try for a child. Sure, Sadonâs magic would help, but there was little known about hybrid children between humans and aliens.
Taking a deep breath, War shoved down that instinct to be on guard and tried his best to be civil.
âYouâre very generous, inviting us into your home.â The Horseman turned his attention to Maxwell. âAnd you have a very polite, young man too.â
Maxwell beamed up at the horseman. He didn't have has much training as his mother had so he didn't realize the man was supernatural. He happily went back to where he had been playing with Legos on the floor. Sinner looked out from the kitchen.
"I have white tea. It's got very small amounts of caffine. Or would you like juice or water instead?"
She had always drank tea during her pregnancy but she respected how other moms wanted to treat their unborn baby.
"So, what questions do you have exactly?"
(ââżâżâ)
The cyborg looked at the gynode as she snuggled against her. The cybernetic sisters sharing a bond few would know. She wriggled down and got comfortable with Veda. Pulling up the super warm and fuzzy blanket.
Of Smoke and Clouds
Lady could tell the smaller woman was uneasy, and she didnât blame her. Two powerful strangers had shown up on her doorstep, after all. She tried to set her at ease, giving Sinner a friendly smile and bowing as best her huge belly would allow.Â
âLady Doppler, at your service. And Maxwellâs right.â She waved to the little boy. âHe and I crossed paths not too long ago.âÂ
Answers⊠War understood the necessity for acquiring more information, yet he really did not like the fact that Lady had to be dragged into this. The Horseman was just as tense as the tiny woman who stared them down from her doorstep. Carnage could smell the demon blood, apprehensive as all get out inside of his mind, and it was not making it easy for War. He had to keep an air of calm about his person. Lady was going to do the talking.
However, his brain screeched to a halt at the mention of Delic⊠he knew that name. He really, really did not like the fact of knowing that man had hurt Lady, repeatedly. Still, he said nothing, just being ready for⊠whatever there was to come.
âI know you two did meet. Both Maxwell and hisâŠ.mentor told me. Maxwell was just excited to meet another hero. He idolizes Metro Man and Nightmare Scream. Which I prefer overâŠ.anyways, please come in.â
Sinner moved out of the way so they could enter. Maxwell running to grab the hands of the lady and the horseman. To bring them inside. He had a twinge of demonic taint but his innocence was far more overpowering. The woman could feel the tension from the Horseman. Having dealt with angels and demons for the past years. Her mismatched eyes narrowed slightly even though her tone and stature gave off an air of pleasantness. There were photos of Nessa, her alien hybrid daughter through out the apartment along with photos of Maxwell.
âWhat can I do for you all?â

"Tea?"
Send "(ââżâżâ)" to cuddle with my muse!
Sinner walked up behind him. Grabbed his coat and pulled him down to her height. Kissed his nose, licked his lips and then walked away.
Psycho fumed, smoke billowing angrily around him, shouting towards the assassinâs retreating form, âDo that again without my permission anâ ya be lucky not ta be lickinâ straight bromadiolone!â
The assassin gave him a flashy smile before breathing in the toxic smoke. She didn't cough. Or sputter. She just slowly released it out her mouth. Raised eyebrow, as she smirked.
"Mmm...poison. Good flavor. Too bad it doesn't affect me."
She then started to laugh before seeming going invisible. Having pressed a button on her wristband that made her disappear from sight.
Of Smoke and Clouds
âYes.â There was no doubt or fear in her voice. âArdeshir, she might be able to give us answers no one else can. I have to try, my Lord.âÂ
She squeezed his arm comfortingly, and then knocked on the door.
Sinner hadnât been expecting company thst day. But when she smelled and heard people land on her balcony she had become defensive. Maxwell was looking up at the doors just as they knocked.
âMomma?â
âJustâŠ.donât move.â
The petite cyborg moved to the door and looked out at the strange pair standing there. One who was very pregnant. She sighed, not sensing any threat from them. Yet. Maxwell joined her side as she opened the door.
âWho are you?â
âMomma thatâs the lady I met with Mr. Delic! Sheâs friends with Metro Man.â

Of Smoke and Clouds
âThis is the place.âÂ
Lady climbed down from her fianceeâs arms, and gazed at the penthouse apartment whose balcony theyâd touched down on. Ever since her recent encounter with Psycho, sheâd been ready to start flying under her own power again, but War had insisted on carrying her for this particular visit.Â
Her years of villainy, particularly breaking and entering, had taught Lady how to look for cameras, alarms, and even booby-traps. She examined the area around the balcony door, but saw nothing that looked like it would pop out and attack her.Â
âWell. Should we knock?âÂ
War really did not like this idea. He had that nagging feeling that something could go wrong. Matter of fact, he was against it from the start. However, Lady was rather insistent upon this meeting. Perhaps she knew something he did not. He trusted his lover, yet, there was no possible way he could ever let go of the past. Demons were trouble and nothing could convince him otherwise. All the centuries of fighting and grief that those fiends had caused were endless and forevermore.
âI know Iâve asked this before, and Iâm going to ask againâŠâ War kept her close. âAre you sure about this?â
âYes.â There was no doubt or fear in her voice. âArdeshir, she might be able to give us answers no one else can. I have to try, my Lord.âÂ
She squeezed his arm comfortingly, and then knocked on the door.

Opps
Psycho came out of a back room, naked except for a green towel wrapped loosely low on his bony hips. Laughing as he called down the hall to a retreating figure in black and pink, âAh, come on Hot Pants ya know ya love it!â
The purple drug lord was gaunt, completely hairless, the cartilage on his body almost entirely gone, leaving his nose and ears a mess, his cheeks bones and hip bones stood out sharply but it was clear he still had quite a bit of muscle on him.
His smile faded as he noticed the other person in the hall with him, blank face scowling into anger and flashing red eyes as he bared his too white teeth, âThe back rooms are fuckinâ private. OUT!â
As he shouted smoke billowed out around him obscuring him from view. Thick and noxious with an acidic tang that burned the throat. The thick smoke carried hallucinogens and carbogen that tricks the brain into believing the body is suffocating.Â
Dad?
Sinner raised an eyebrow at his words. Taking the card in her small hand she looked it over. The computer memorizing it to her memory banks. She slipped the card into her shirt and bra for safe keeping until she got home to dispose of it.
âAinât nothing you got that can work on me. Side effect of being able to heal. And vices I got plenty of.â
She tapped her chin thinking though. Very deep in thought. Specially at the nickname.
âStill, you do seem to pose some fun options to me and my little black books. A nickname is not necessary unless you prefer to be called that. I can tell you all apart easy enough. You all smell different. â
She returned his toothy grin with one of her own.
âBut you. Yeah, you, I like.â
Psycho laughed hardily, âYa can keep me outa yer little black book, doll. Ya ainât my type and I learned my lesson âbout taking chicks to bed that are too attached to their guns. I ainât getting shot that way twice.â
âAn if that be the case, Psycho be just fine,â he took a draw from his cigarette, âYa seem fun and useful though, Iâll give ya that.â
She laughed as well.
âWrong kind of black book. I been with purple once and not entirely of my free will. Iâm good on all that.â
She made a motion towards his body.
âBut fun. Yes. Fun is good. I donât get enough of it, being a mom and all. Trying to fit in to the normal society.â
Psycho snorted, âOlâ Hot Flash didnât ever seem ta have that problem, but then that old gal never will slow down fer nothin,â he chuckled as he blew out another puff of smoke, debating on how useful it would be to further question the assassin.
âOkay but thatâs her and I remember her quite well.â
She laughed again.
âIâve been throughly advised that to protect Maxwell I need to give up my old ways. Donât think thatâs happening.â
She reached into her bra again and pulled out her own card. It was solid black but if held in the light just right revealed her true name and her experiment number along with her phone number.
âOnly seems fair.â
Psycho took the card, turning it in the light. He typed the number into his phone, took a picture of the cigarette butt on the sidewalk as a contact photo and put her name and âcannon handâ with a note of 'makes things deadâ. Satisfied he tipped his hat brim low at her, âMay be, but we all rarely whatâs best fer us, eh? Well Iâll be leaving ya to yer boy then.â
With that he turned to go.
In the brief moment he had turned, Sinner had tapped into her speed. Scaling a building wall and taking off in the direction of her pent house. A wicked gleam in her eye that only a very select few had ever lived long enough to see.
