im truthing burnout gifted kid gaz

gaz who is insanely smart, but has mad imposter syndrome.

gaz who second guesses everything bc he used to be one of those kids whose parents bragged abt being a gifted kid bc he couldn't keep up with the work load, bc his mental health tanked after getting into the gifted program.

gaz who doesnt like talking abt his achievements bc he feels like he peaked in middle school.

gaz who HATES gifted program bc he knows what it feels like to be in them & knows that the kids will eventually stop being seen as gifted bc their mental health isnt prioritized.

gaz who loves learning, but cant bring himself to learn anything bc doing that just brings back feelings he hasnt felt in years, hating that he cant do it and stops trying to learn anything new bc if hes not immediately good at it he feels as tho hes failed.

gaz who constantly checks in with his friends when hes pitching ideas bc he doesnt feel like hes actually contributing with his thoughts while everyone else is amazed at his ideas & theories & the way his brain works bc they havent seen this side of him bc he tries SO hard to hide it all.
