I see lots of positivity for people who had to drop out of higher education for one reason or another. But so little for friends who are unable to have a high school diploma, or GED! (Or whatever your area's equivalent may be)

So shoutout to those who were unable to complete the "basic" education, you are important and loved and your level of education should not dictate that!

I feel like people try to explain how [historical figure] had all the time to do so many Great Accomplishments and thus go "it's because they had servants". Which is true. But then leave it at that rather than continue on to the more important point that the servants actually often were as tired and overworked and unable to have time for themselves as so many of us are. "People lived this way because they had servants" okay and how were the SERVANTS living???

Something that shocked me when I watched Sherlock Holmes Granada for the first time was how much it forced me to reevaluate what it meant to be a servant in the late Victorian era. I'd always known it was hard, but like...one of the first servants you meet in the series is very noticeably a teenager. She's not a day over fifteen. She's not even the youngest one; there's a stable boy who's twelve or thirteen. At another point Holmes is questioning a cook, and Watson quietly asks Holmes to ask the cook to sit down because she's pale and swaying on her feet. Very kind, very conscientious. Except--this woman was old enough to be their mother. She shouldn't have been standing, much less working sixteen-hour days.

And that's only the tip of the iceberg. When you realize how careful Granada was about making sure casting was era-accurate, seeing these teenagers and elderly women in these roles just...really slams it home in a way nothing else does.

My hot take on modern AU Enjolras is that he'd be a "low key" kind of preppy punk. Those 2 aesthetics seem to contradict, but it does make sense when you consider that Enjolras is in canon a rich kid gone rogue.

Like I consider modern Enj would've gotten a piercing with like 18. He wouldnt put a lot of effort into being visibly preppy or punk but it's the subtle things from his past that show this (such as him perhaps still using an expensive brand bag that his parents gifted him a long time ago, or said piercing he got in an act of late teen rebellion).

His waredrobe is basically: white t shirt, red t shirt, black t shirt, a few pair of jeans (some of them ripped, a few older expensive brand ones) and an obligatory suit for special occasions.

My other hot take is that while he doesn't listen to a lot of music, he prefers punk and french rap on the few occasions he does listen.
