“I’m okay,” Allison nodded, moving closer to Cole. Her brow furrowed in concern. “Are you? I think we’ve been down here a while…are you hurt? Do you feel lightheaded?” Allison’s eyes searched Cole as they adjusted to the darkness. “Water. You need water. I had some…” Allison felt around until she located the metal bottle and passed it over to Colette. Thankfully, she heard a bit of water still sloshing around in there. “Do you want to rest for a minute? We really need a lookout, someone to let us know if the djinn comes back. Maybe you could do that and catch your breath.”
Cole smiled softly at Allison’s concern. She wasn’t sure how she and Lucy had gotten so lucky to find themselves part of this family and pack, but she was endlessly grateful.
After taking a long drink, she nodded at Allison’s suggestion. “Lookout is a good idea, and I don’t mind doing it.” She said, and looked around the cave. “To be honest, I think most of should probably take turns being lookout. I don’t like the idea of too many of us going through the whole....killing ourselves to wake up. That’s bound to do some damage.”

Allison shook her head. “Djinn? Cole, what are you talking about? What–” But then Cole’s words struck a chord with something deep inside of Allison. They needed to help the others. Her pack. Her friends. Her family. She blinked, and then looked past Cole. The warehouse had suddenly gone silent and still. She looked down at her own hands; the blood was gone. “The djinn. The djinn!” Allison’s eyes widened. A smile flickered across her face, and she leaned in, hugging Cole. “Thank you,” She whispered. Colette had saved her. And now, they could help the others, too.

Cole nodded as she accepted the knife from Allison, but waited until her friend was in the process of waking herself up before doing so herself. She refused to let the younger girl see more death than she already has, even if it was in her dreams.
She woke with a gasp and turned to Allison. “Are you okay?” She asked. “I don’t know how long any of us has been down here, and to be honest, I was barely able to get you down from where you were hanging.”

“Cole!” Allison grabbed the other girl, pulling her away from her mother quickly. Colette was human, but that didn’t necessarily mean Victoria wouldn’t harm her. Allison didn’t put anything past any of the members of her family. “What are you doing? Do you have a weapon?” Allison shook her head, concern rising. “Are you hurt?” She asked frantically. “Is someone else?” Based on Colette’s first words to her, Allison was immediately afraid that she was coming to tell her that someone else was hurt or in trouble.
Cole moved with Allison, but quickly shook her head when Allison rushed through her questions. “No, look you don’t need to worry about anyone here. This is a dream. Remember?” She said, taking the younger girl’s face in her hands. “The djinn got the pack, but Natalie was able to get out of it. As of right now, the only ones awake are me, Lucy, Natalie and Cami. I need you to wake up so we can get the others before djinn figures out what’s going on.”

It was chaos in the warehouse. Not only was Gerard there, but so was the rest of her family: Kate, Victoria, Maryann. They’d brought with them an entire army of hunters, all of whom had surrounded the warehouse, cornered the pack. They had hurried to form a plan, like they always did, and had hurried to protect one another, but amidst the battle around her, Allison felt a terrible panic rising in her chest. She didn’t know where everyone was, couldn’t keep track of them; she didn’t know who was hurt, who needed help. She could hear the sound of gunfire around her; could hear the sounds of howls of rage and pain from the wolves and human voices shouting, hunters and pack members alike.
Her family, by blood, was here to try to destroy her real family, her pack. And she knew it was all her fault. Her presence had brought them back to hunt her friends; they were dangerous, and they were everywhere, and she couldn’t keep track of everyone. Without a werewolves hearing and other heightened senses, she felt as though she were flying blind.
She had to stop this. Someone would be hurt, and she needed to put an end to them. Gerard. If she killed Gerard, the others would be thrown without their leader. She searched the warehouse for him, and as soon as her eyes landed on him, she rushed forward, dodging glass that was shattering above her as a window was shot out. She slammed her body into his; although he was still considerably strong, she had taken him off guard and disrupted his center of balance, and this was enough to send him sprawling.
Allison fell too, but quickly jumped to her feet– faster than he was, thanks to her age– and lunged at him, swiping with her dagger. She managed to cut across his chest, leaving an open, bloody wound, that send him staggering back. She lunged again, this time plunging the knife between two ribs, up towards his heart. With what space she had between bone she twisted the knife, holding eye contact as she did, watching the light and life fade from his eyes.
She had to be sure.
“What have you done?”
She spun around to see her mother standing there, staring at her in horror. “I had to–”
“He was your grandfather!” Victoria shouted sharply. “And you murdered him in cold blood to protect a pack of mutts. What have you become? You’re a monster. A monster worse than they are!”
“I did what I had to do! I always do what I have to do!” Allison shouted back, taking a step forward. As she did, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in some of the shattered glass: she was spattered in blood, knife raised, a wild look in her eyes.
She was a monster.
Cole opened her eyes to chaos, but it didn’t take long to get her barrings. She was in the warehouse, and from what she could see, so was the rest of the pack. And hunters. She didn’t recognize most of them, but she thought she caught a glimpse of Kate and some familiar faces of the Argent family. She looked around frantically for Allison, and found her by her raised voice.
“Allison!” She shouted, running quickly to the girl’s side, who was starting at her own reflection. “Allison!” She grabbed her by her shoulders and yelled. “I need you to look at me now!”

Cole and Lucy parted and went separate ways in the cave, both moving forward but on different sides. Lucy had the dream root on her, but had told Cole that some of the others would have some on them as well. It was only a few moments before she could make out the silhouette of a girl, and upon closer inspection, Cole realized it was Allison. Carefully, and with a little struggle due to her weakness, Cole lifted Allison from the hook and laid her gently on the ground. She quickly checked through Allison’s pockets and found a vial.
Cole didn’t even consider putting the drops in her eyes, sure that her contact lenses would mess with how well the liquid worked. So, she dropped two drops under her tongue, making a face as she laid down next to the brunette, and prepared herself for Allison’s dream landscape.

“Together.” Lucy nodded. She held Cole’s hand tightly as they jumped together. A moment later, Lucy’s eyes flew open and they were back on the cave floor.
“Cole!” She cried, hugging her sister tightly. “How do you feel? Do you feel good enough to help the others? All you have to do is take a small drop of dream root, and you can get into someone’s dream and do just what I did. But if you do not feel good enough, you do not have to!”
Cole pulled away from the hug, wincing slightly at the soreness in her arms. She must have been tied up. It took a moment for her to get her barings in the dark, but eventually she could make out Lucy’s silhouette.
“No, I want to help Lucy.” She said, forcing down the way of dizziness she felt when she stood up. Exactly how long had she been down here?

Lucy started to cry all over again, and she wrapped her arms tightly around Cole too, hugging her back and burying her face against her hair. “I’m so sorry it took so long, Cole. I love you so much. I love you so, so, so much.”
Leaning back a little, Lucy gave Cole a tearful smile. “We have to wake up now. Natalie says the only way to wake up in a dream is…well, to die in the dream. It worked when she woke me up. I think…” Lucy looked around them. “I think if we jump out of that window, we will wake up when we are falling, just like in a dream where you are falling.” Lucy took Cole’s hand and squeezed tightly.
Cole nodded at her sister with soft smile of encouragement on her face. “Together?” She asked, squeezing Lucy’s hand back. Then, together, the girls jumped.

Lucy’s eyes welled up with tears as she knelt down in front of her sister. “He wasn’t really,” She explained gently, shaking her head a little. He was just a part of the dream. Try to remember, Cole. We aren’t really here, and neither was Camden. We’re in a dream…well, a nightmare. A nightmare that the djinn is making you have. None of this is real. The war, the bombs…what you saw with me and Camden, just now. It is all a part of a dream. The djinn took you. I’ve been looking everywhere for you, and…we found you. Everyone, the whole pack, was all taken by the djinn. We are really in his lair, right now. And if we can wake up from this dream, we can rescue everyone else, too, and we can also get help for everyone.” A few tears slipped down Lucy’s cheeks as she reached up and touched Cole’s shoulders once more. “I’m so sorry, Colie. I’m so sorry this happened, and you saw all of this, and went through all of this. But I am here to help you, and I promise, we are going to be okay. We are all going to be okay.”
Cole’s eyes glanced back and forth from left to right as she listened to her sister, trying to make sense of everything. And in a moment, she could remember the night the djinn had gotten her and Derek.
“Lucy.” She said softly, taking her little sister’s face into her hands. “You did it. You got to us.” She then wrapped her arms tightly around the younger blonde. “I am so incredibly proud of you.”

Lucy came to in a strange place; it was dark, and all around her she could hear the sounds of bombs going off, gunshots being fired, and people screaming and crying and shouting. She froze, looking around in horror, trying to pinpoint where she was, and what kind of nightmare Cole was having, when suddenly it occurred to her where they were: this was a warzone. This was where Camden had been killed.
Hurrying through the building she was in, Lucy searched for her sister, heart pounding. Was this the world Cole had been trapped in this whole time?
Perhaps the dream root knew where Lucy wanted to be, because she found herself rounding a corner and coming upon a room. The room was dimly lit, but inside, Lucy could see her sister knelt on the ground in front of someone– Camden. And in his arms was a bloody figure, one she recognized as herself.
Stepping into the room, Lucy moved towards her sister and gently touched her shoulder. “Colie?” She moved so that she was in her line of vision. “Colie, it’s me. The real me. This…this is just a dream. We’re not really here; were not in Iraq. We’re in Beacon Hills. In a cave. The djinn caught us all, and trapped us in a nightmare. I’m here to help you wake up.”
The gentle hand on her shoulder stopped the sob threatening to slip out of her mouth. She knew that touch. She frowned as she turned to her sister, alive and well, and when she looked back to Camden there was nothing. Her mind moved sluggishly through what was happening. Where was Camden? Why were they here?
“Lucy?” She said a bit breathlessly, finally look at her sister again. “What happened? Where is Camden? He was right here?”

withlovelucy:
Lucy hurried through the cave. Her eyesight was adjusting quickly, but at the speed she was moving, she had to feel along the rock wall, as well. She knew her eyes were likely only adjusting so fast due to her werewolf abilities, and she hoped the humans and witches would fare okay, as well.
Suddenly, she happened upon a familiar scent just before her sisters body came into view. Lucy’s eye filled up with fresh tears, and she hurried to her sister, reaching up and slashing at the rope that bound her hands above her head with her claws, wrapping her other arm around her at the same time in order to catch her as she fell. Easing her onto the ground, Lucy knelt next to Cole and brushed some of her hair from her face. “Oh, Colie, I’m so sorry,” Lucy whispered. “I’m coming to find you, okay? Everything will be okay.” Lucy carefully removed the vial Natalie had given her, and let two drops of the liquid fall onto her tongue. She pocketed the dream root again and wrapped her arms around Cole, closing her eyes and feeling tears on her cheeks as she faded into her sisters dream.
Cole wasn’t sure where she was. That was wrong, she had an idea, but she had no idea how she’d gotten here. She was hiding in an old building, and she could hear bombs in the distance, as well as the sound of gunshots not to far off. She felt like she was on sensory overload from the noise and adrenaline, and for a moment she wondered if this was how Lucy had felt when she first became a werewolf.
There was the one thing she knew the moment she had woken up in this place, find Lucy and Camden. If she could find them everything would be okay. They’d be able to protect each other.
She moved as carefully and quietly as she could, taking herself further into the building. There were muffled voices in one of the rooms she slipped past, hoping that they weren’t werewolves like her sister. She stopped at the top of a stairwell, and in the dark it lead to Cole could hear faint cries of pain. Her heart’s pace picked up as she forced herself onward.
At the bottom of the stairs she could barely see, there were no lights or windows, and a wave of fear ran through when she heard a voice cry out again. It was familiar in the way that you would always remember your first love. She knew it was Camden. She moved as quickly as she could in the dark, knowing that shouting out to him would potentially alert her presence to those she didn’t want to know was there.
ooc: real quick, did we ever determine how isaac’s brother had died? and also do we remember his name?

Derek hesitated for only a moment before wrapping his arms around Cole, too. He knew the face of someone who was doing their best to put on a brave face; to keep contained under the surface the things that were slowly suffocating them. He also knew he could only offer so much comfort; his own mind was betraying him as much as anyone else’s. But what comfort he did have to offer, he wanted to give. So he hugged her tightly, letting her cry for as long as she needed to.
He wasn’t sure how much time passed as they stood in the kitchen together. But when Cole finally leaned back, he tuned in once more to the others, checking for wakefulness. Lifting his coffee mug, he gestured for Cole to step out onto the balcony with him; there they could still talk, and likely would be able to keep from waking anyone, as well. He didn’t want Cole to feel as though she had to censor herself in any way for fear of waking the others. This was weighing heavily on her mind, and he intended to offer her what relief and comfort he was able.
Cole knew that physical touch was difficult for Derek, about as much as it tended to be for her, if not more so. But she was grateful, and she was sure to put that gratefulness into her gentle smile when she stepped away and took her mug to follow him onto the balcony.
She took a deep breath of cool air, a small shiver running through her at the unusual chill for this time of year. No doubt caused by the djinn.
“When this started, my first nightmare, was of Camden.” She said as she looked out into the dark from the balcony, her elbows resting on the rail with her mug in her hands. “I dreamt that I was there when he died, that I saw every moment. It felt so real that I when I woke up, I thought I had actually gone through it with him.”
She felt a strange relief when she spoke of that dream. It was the one she had never told Lucy of. She and her sister had been open about their dreams of losing one another, but for some reason Cole had been unable to tell her about Camden. She was about to speak again, but an eerie breeze stopped her. She frowned and turned to Derek, and both seemed to come to the same realization as they looked at one another......and then nothing.
