The air was tense as the two stared each other down, Junmyeon becoming aware of the relationship between the two.
"Is that a problem?" He spoke, raising his eyebrow the slightest.
"We don't exactly like each other."
"More like despise, but that works too."
"Well, that's just how it works. I want the two of you ready by the latter part of the evening. Sehun, I'm assuming you have a good amount of options in your wardrobe. On the contrary, Xena, I'll be sending you out with Baekhyun to find a designated outfit."
"Yes, sir."
"Good. I'll inform you of your task before you two leave. Sehun, call for Baekhyun. Let the preparations begin."
Sehun reached towards his watch, twisting the ring around it stopping at the certain number. A holographic picture of a very goofy looking Baekhyun appeared, his voice radiating through the device.
"Baekhyun speaking."
"Come down to the missions room. There's a task Junmyeon deligated to you." He quickly turned the dial back to its original place, throwing his hand up as he left the room.
"See you later, princess." Xena's blood boiled at his sarcastic remark, however before she could respond, Baekhyun had already stepped foot in the room.
"I heard Junmyeon had a task for me."
"Yeah, he wants you to take me shopping, Sehun and I are going to a Masquerade Party, casual."
"What kind of masquerade party is casual?"
"To hell if I know. Let's just get this over with, I don't like being out in public for long periods of time."

The restaurant was full. Busy tables surrounding them. An old couple eating side by side, one glass of wine each, studiously bent over their meals. A group of young women in their thirties collapsing with helpless giggles as a stern woman dining alone nearby looked on and frowned. Businessmen in their grey suits lighting up cigars. American tourists, trying to decipher the menu. A family and their teenage children. The noise level was high. The smoke level, too. But it didn't bother them. They were used to it.
"All of that shopping made me hungry." Baekhyun whined stuffing his mouth.
"Baekhyun when aren't you hungry?"
"During sex." Baekhyun winked sending Xena into spurs of coughing.
"You're disgusting." She grimaced at the male who sat in front of her, pleased with her reaction.
"It's just the way I charm people."
"Well, you have a hell of a way charming someone."
Shrugging the two continued to eat their food in silence. They sparked up a few conversations here and there, but never long enough to carry them out. The waiter soon came by placing the bill on the table, Baekhyun reaching for it and paying. In a matter of minutes, the two exited the noisy restaurant continuing their shopping for the day.
"Hey, Baekhyun?"
He replied with a small hum as his fingers typed away on his phone, not once looking at her nor where he was going.
"Did you know Chanyeol's fiancée?"
His head rose up to her question, placing his phone back in his pocket.
"I knew of her, but if you're asking if I knew her personally then no. I met her a few times and had a few conversations with her, but we weren't ever that close."
"Oh." She whispered.
"But if you're thinking that you're simply her replacement then you're wrong. You're actually more than that."
Her face contorted at him, questioning his statement as his just simply smiled at her, but was soon replaced with a dumbfounded look.
"You really have no clue do you?"
"You'd actually think that my confused and blank face would've answered that question for you already."
"You can't be serious...Do you seriously not see that he's completely in love with you?"
"Shut up don't joke like that." Xena laughed as she sipped her drink. Baekhyun coming to a halt in response. His face was the most serious Xena had seen it, this caused a bubbling feeling in her making her almost terrified of the foreign feeling.
"Baek come on he doesn't love me, he's not that stupid."
"Whatever you say wise one, but I don't think he's stupid at all." The male mumbled, continuing their walk towards the shop.
There were wide varieties of shops lined up on the nearby streets: antique and art stalls, jewelry, and accessory shops, luxury boutiques, souvenirs and stores selling leather goods, all showcasing an array of the finest Italian wares. Tourists flocked to them like fireflies to a lamp, enthusiasm accentuating their features. The silvery melody of the drawl of sightseers and the strong, distinct accents of the locals drifted through their ears as they wandered past. There were chimes of bells that tinkled incessantly as the people sauntered in and out of the stores.

"Hi welcome to Beaux Châteaux, My name is Abella so just let me know if you need anything okay?" The perky employee greeted the two as they walked into the shop. The shop was filled with beautiful dresses, accessories, and shoes, way too expensive for Xena's taste in clothing. Xena looked at Baekhyun, taking refuge in his eyes.
"I don't know what to say..."
"Let me take care of it." He immediately went to work scanning the dresses until he found a few suited to his taste. Xena watched from afar as he pulled out dresses examining before putting them back, shaking his head at his decision. Xena rested on one of the nearby chairs, leaning her head against the wall she started to doze off. She was rudely woken up by a dress and some shoes being thrown into her lap.
"Go try those on, dressing room is right there." She picked up the items in her lap and walked over to the destination Baekhyun had been pointing to. She slowly started to undress as she entered the dressing room, the dress was form fitting, clinging to Xena in all the right places. A slit ran down the side of her leg, exposing the caramel skin. Thick straps supported her bust, curving in a sweethearts shape. Nude shoes wrapped shortly up her leg, crisscrossing along her foot, the heel the perfect size. Smoothing out her dress she stepped out to where Baekhyun was waiting, his head rose up immediately his face contorted into a shocked demeanor. His eyes traveled along her body seeing how the dress hugged her form just perfectly.
"If Chanyeol could see you right now, he'll rip you to shreds." Standing up he walked around Xena checking out her full body.
"Damn girl. Maybe he should see what his princess is doing right now." Baekhyun stopped in front of her his phone raised in his hand.
"Baekhyun don't you dare." She warned.
"Oops." A camera sound reigned through signaling he had taken a picture of her and sent it to Chanyeol.
"I hate you."
"You love me. Just like you love Chanyeol."
"Right." Catching herself in the mirror she admired the dress and mentally agreed with Baekhyun. She thought of the dress as a way to let Chanyeol see the kind of woman she actually is, not some girl who always dressed up in sweats.
"We don't need to shop anymore. We're buying this one." She smiled.

Humming along to the toons, Baekhyun and Xena grew in sync, their voices escalating as the song progressed. Ending on key, they laughed it off, Baekhyun turning down onto the next street.
Silence progressed in the car, Xena checking out the smaller items in her bag. However, after a short period of time, Xena began to pick up on Baekhyun's eyes constantly checking the rearview mirror. Soft whispers and groans left his lips, the vehicle beginning to accelerate, making sharp turns down smaller and smaller streets.
"Baekhyun, where's your gun?"
"Xena, that's not necessary. We're fine."
"Baekhyun. Where's your fucking gun?" She spoke, eyes constantly checking the side mirrors to view the black car trailing not far behind.
She wasn't stupid, she knew what was going on and she knew what she was about to do.
"In the glove department." He spoke, shoulders dropping. She immediately reached, pulling out the gun and removing her seatbelt.
Slipping into the backseat, she looked to Baekhyun.
"Any turns or course changes up ahead?"
"No, all smooth sailing."
With a nod of her head, she cocked the gun, taking a deep breath. Time began to slow, as she rolled down the window to the SUV, sliding her body out the window before aiming at the tire. Before the driver could break, she took the shot, screeching of the tires as it crashed into the wall.
She slid back into the vehicle, rolling up the window and sliding alongside Baekhyun.
"Who, what, why?" Xena questioned, looking directly at Baekhyun.
"I honestly have no clue."
"It's obvious someone has tabs on us, considering all we did was go out shopping and they were able to trace our vehicle."
"We have to tell Junmyeon. If they were following us here, I have no doubt that they'll follow you and Sehun to the party."
"As much as we both would like Chanyeol to be your escort, we know that's not going to happen. At least try to enjoy yourself for the short period of time you have at the party." Xena nodded her head, her eyes gazing towards the side mirrors again, her thoughts began to wander.
At the sound of his name, Xena shuddered, shaking her shoulders slightly.
Was she the target?
-
The sound of her heels echoed in her ears as she paced back and forth, hooking the earrings in her ears. She ran her fingers through her shortened hair, adjusting the style slightly before smiling to herself. Taking a short walk down the hall, she knocked on the door in front of her before entering, watching the man she despised trying to fix his appearance.
"If it takes you this long to get ready, you may not be as cute as you think you are."
"You literally just finished after I did."
"And your point is?"
"Just get out of my sight." He spoke, moving his hand to shoo her away. Instead, she marched right towards him, tilting her head to the side.
"What is it that you don't like about me? What do you have against me?"
"Who said I had anything against you?"
"Hm, I don't know, the numerous times I have come to face you and your face turns to an assortment of emotions. Or the countless times you've made horrendous comments about me. Or is that just my imagination?"
"I think you're just imagining things, princess."
"Don't call me that."
"Don't call you what?" He placed his hand on the dresser top, leaning up against it.
"You don't like it when I call you that because that's Chanyeol's given name for you, right? I see the way you look at him. How does it feel to come second to his ex-fiance?" Rage burned through her, however, before she could strike him her instincts pulled her back, hand lowering to her side.
"I'd love to insult you, but I don't think I can do as well as mother nature did."
"That's a weak ass comeback for a weak little girl."
"Says the one who has yet to step in the ring with me. Save the shots for your chance Sehun, because you know its coming." She slid out the room, running a hand through her hair once more. Before she could get far, she came smack into contact with someone's chest, their arms immediately reaching out to brace her.
"Hey, you alright?" Chanyeol asked, looking down at her with his bottom lip between his teeth.
"Yeah, just nervous. You know, first time on a mission, haha." She laughed sarcastically, hitting his shoulder lightly.
"Mhm. Well, Junmyeon said to tell you and Sehun the car is ready for the two of you." Xena smiled up at him, patting him on the back.
"Thanks." She turned to walk towards the exit, clutch in hand.
"Hey, Xena." She turned around to look at him, noticing how he stiffened at her gaze.
"Yes?"
"You look beautiful. Good luck tonight."
“Thanks.” She smiled, whatever anger she had disappearing quickly.
