Hear, hear! Our friends from Revista de Povestiri are setting the scene for a new comic book workshop in Bucharest starting February 7th (registrations are open until the 4th of February and you can send your application to simina @ revistadepovestiri.ro).

During this 7 weeks workshop, writers will learn about creating a script, from idea to plot, character design, the pacing of the story, breaking the story into panels, dialogues and so on. Illustrators will learn about storyboard, frames, penciling, inking, techniques and styles.

Trainers: Robert Obert (illustration) & Felix Tzele (storytelling)

Weekend classes, team work, step by step feedback - all leading to your first spread of your first comic book.

December 9th, 2014:

We celebrated the launch of our new online gallery <<Colorhood.com>> surrounded by a crowd of colorful people at Energiea. We’ve managed to gather so many wonderful friends and artists with whom we were happy to share smiles and news and (maybe :) ) booze. We Singing Colors entertained our lovely crowd with their warm, heart-melting performance: guys, you were so great, thank you so much for coming! KITRA and his legendary beard made quite an impression on the excited admirers :) He created a series of special linocut art prints right on the spot, using the vintage etching press. Lartist joined the crew and handed out a series of signed linocut artworks as well. Thank you all for coming and we hope you had a blast!

Hello, Colorhood: The official welcoming party 

On December 9th at 7pm, we are launching the new Colorhood.com online gallery shop at Energiea, among the friendly faces that have been encouraging Atelierul de Print for the last 3 years of events & experiments. Colorhood.com will keep on supporting Romanian artists, especially by stepping forward and becoming a magnet both to international artists and illustration collectors worldwide. Tuesday, December 9th, all 46 artists featured on Colorhood.com are invited to our launch event. We will exhibit some of the famous Red Bull coolers turned into functional art objects by the artists who participated in the Red Bull Curates: Canvas Cooler Project. We’re also putting together a small collective exhibition, gathering the newest artworks selected from our 350 illustration collection. Moreover, we are happy to surprise our audience with 2 colorful live performances: KITRĂ is Colorhood’s special guest and he’s fixing a live printing session using the old-school etching press and some linocuts created exclusively for the upcoming event. His artworks will be printed during the event and the participants will be able to take them home. KITRĂ aka Nicu Duță is an illustrator and toy designer based in Bucharest. His multidisciplinary practice spans across media, incorporating illustration, street art, toy and graphic design. @ ARTmaroc - Art & Design Boutique by Acuarela

On November 28th we had some fun at the ARTmaroc – a colorful art and design boutique launched by Acuarela. Beautifully refurbished objects (such as old chairs and sleighs turned into creative shelves), many friends and a cozy ambiance made us feel just like home (actually, the home we dream of).

The shop gathered tiny and precious objects, books, jewelry, uncanny lamps and decorations, and lots of special gifts created by Romanian artists and designers. 

We showcased some of our newest illustrations dressed up in fancy frames and Mario was great with managing a video mapping show on the wall occupied by our prints.
