Beauty is more of an aura not just appearance
I have so much love to offer someone but it all just feels intended for you.

you can be having the worst day of your life yet when you look outside the sun has never been brighter
the world doesn’t end even when we think it does
Albert Camus, from a letter to María Casares featured in Correspondance, 1944-1959
the ability to see more beauty in the world is a skill. the more beauty you see, the more comes to you, the more you create yourself. so much of the disempowerment people feel is because they are trained to see the ugly and negative in everything. you have to unpick your mind from the lure of negativity and train yourself to find beauty. if you want a beautiful life, it starts with learning to find the beauty everywhere.

Major blessings are on the way.
“I told Miyazaki I love the “gratuitous motion” in his films; instead of every movement being dictated by the story, sometimes people will just sit for a moment, or they will sigh, or look in a running stream, or do something extra, not to advance the story but only to give the sense of time and place and who they are. “We have a word for that in Japanese,” he said. “It’s called ma. Emptiness. It’s there intentionally.” Is that like the “pillow words” that separate phrases in Japanese poetry? “I don’t think it’s like the pillow word.” He clapped his hands three or four times. “The time in between my clapping is ma. If you just have non-stop action with no breathing space at all, it’s just busyness, But if you take a moment, then the tension building in the film can grow into a wider dimension. If you just have constant tension at 80 degrees all the time you just get numb.””

Me to myself
I’ve befriended a man, a successful writer in his early 40s, who has somehow earned a spot in my life for now. He teaches digital rhetoric at a university, he comes over every few weeks and we lay on our backs and psychoanalyze each other’s writing. This time, he brought his most important journal. He feels really strongly that no one can read it and he wants it burned when he dies. After he left, I noticed he left it on my bed in plain sight.
