I drew these for my job; I'm a field technician for the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS), which is a USDA-funded survey aiming to survey for + mitigate the harm caused by agriculturally harmful invasive insects. These are the insects we're surveying for in my state. I drew them to help me ID any suspicious-looking insects we get :)

i am working on a million billion things!!!!! these trans pride prints (FUCK 'EM ALL !!!!!!! proceeds r gonna go to mutual aid, as in, keeping the homies off the streets), some BUG DRAWINGS for my JOB,,,, also my JOB,,,,, and my zine.... and doing some fiber arts stuff too (gotta mend my field work pants!) ough!!!! expect a dump of updates at some point when I'm further along :'DD

i'm just rly proud of this portrait . the whole quote is "you cannot kill me in a way that matters". can't finish tn bcs my eyes hurt . the hardest part of digital art is the eye strain, oh my goodness. I've been working almost exclusively traditionally for YEARS because of it. Big ups to everyone who does digital art - it just doesn't work for me. figure was drawn traditionally in pencil + scanned. doing the text digital bcs (1) it was originally on printer paper w. something on the back which messed up the scan and (2) i want to have several texts to go with the image + digital was the best way to do that without damaging the original drawing.

making a zine! learning to Talk About It!!!

notes abt my process under the cut

i'm putting together a zine of my work from 2021-22!!! At first it was gonna just be an artbook of paintings and drawings, but I want to include my photography and writing, too, so I'm making collages, and driving it off into full zine territory. I'm excited to share it with you when I'm done <3

It's taking longer than I thought it would ;;--;; before art school, I never gave much thought to presenting my artwork - in fact, the only sort of "curation" or exhibition of indie art i'd seen was on social media. As I've moved away from social media, I've lost the ability to engage with indie art in online spaces; so, zines have been integral to my ability to keep engaging with other artists!!!! :heart_hands: :DD

I hope to have the first volume done by the end of the summer >:) i will be sharing more WIPs as I go, but I really want to publish it all at once (as a free digital copy of the completed work :DD !!!!)

i ripped this from my old radio show (had a vinyl collection episode). Didn't edit a single thing, just played the record at 33rpm instead of 45. I love every part of it: the crunchy record grain in the beginning, the audible widening of the synth's waveform, the unnatural tambor of the voice when it dips deep, the glockenspiel (? xylophone?) in the background becoming that much more prominent. so in love with it.
