hiatus;
- // I really hate to do this, but I think I may have to go on an indefinite hiatus for a bit until further notice. I’m so sorry guys!!
- // brRREATHES I FINALLY FINISHED ALL OF IT. ALL MY DRAFTS. ...I mean at least the ones I didn’t get to last time-- OMF I CRYY. I CRY 5EVA. ; u; Everything else has been drafted again so I'll reply to those the next time I’m on!
“I suppose, if you want,” she said as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. She unfolded it and held it out for him to look at. “This is the training regiment my older brother uses. I modified it for our swimmers and based it around their initial skills. I could help you figure out which sets would be best for you. Then you could practice with the team. It’ll be fun~” Plus she’d get to see him shirtless. (Dreams really did come true).
“Swimmers always have good bodies, so I’m giving you an eight for now, until I can properly assess your muscles.~” Nothing about that sentence seemed odd to Gou. She turned on her heels and began walking. “We have a joint practice at my brother’s school, if you’d like to come along.”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
A hand took hold of the paper that the other handed, and shining amber hues briefly scanned through the information. He had to say he was impressed. He didn't really know about professional swimming, but it seemed like a lot of heart was put into making the regimen.
"Whoa... this is... intricate. You must’ve worked hard on it." Although, practice seemed like it would require effort, which made him more reluctant. As she turned and began walking away, Ruka tailed after her. "Eh? Only an eight?" He thought he would've at least been an eleven or something. "Then... those other guys, what what would you rate their bodies as?" Now he was genuinely curious. "And... you're gonna go to practice now? As in... right now? I wouldn’t mind joining you, but would you maybe have time to get some food to eat first? I'm kinda hungry." That wasn’t a lie, at all...
Ahhh…. Man, this was disappointing. She expected a more hateful reaction. Like a slap, or a lot of shouting. She’d have flinched at that, perhaps admitted her wrong. But blondie looked more distraught about this whole matter than her – and she was the one who got hurt ( it really fucking hurt a lot! shit! ). Her petulant expression faded immediately. She looked bored, unimpressed, by Ruka’s words, and was mostly concerned about her ear. It throbbed ceaselessly, and her fingers were wet with blood. Fucking great. At least it didn’t seem like a stream of blood, she’d hate to get her one side of her clothes completely dyed red. But fuck, it really hurt. Would she need to get a stretch now? Was her earlobe completely ripped? She wanted to take out her mirror and see, but also felt strangely hesitant… ah, fuck it. Whether she’d see it now or later didn’t really matter. “Fucking retards…” Andrea muttered under her breath, searching for said mirror in her purse. Completely forgotten about Ruka, it seemed. Until he faced her, that made her look up, with a face that completely lacked emotion, only briefly something else flickered across her features– shock, perhaps guilt – at seeing his expression. He really was more upset than her. But so irritatingly…. chivalric. Concerned. Did it really look like she needed his help?
“–So annoying.” Andrea huffed coldly, lowering her gaze once again to determine whether her fingers had finally located her pocket mirror. They had. She flipped it open, admiring the damage with a frown, hissing at the wound. It looked less painful than it felt, but seeing it somehow did increase the pain. If he’s planning on saying something, she stops him right there by holding up a finger. What she’s about to say is important, he shouldn’t interfere. “–Listen, Blondie. I don’t think my words haven’t really penetrated through your skull yet. I’m glad you stuck up for me and all that shit, super. Thanks. You make a good friend. But I’m not a fucking damsel in distress, so stop treating me like one. Not one of those ladies who throws a fit because they broke a nail – nothing against them though, they’re great in bed, and incredibly attractive.” The thought makes her grin, she had some fun memories to think back to. Her fingers played with the sensitive earlobe, examining the wound further. Her expression said that it wasn’t all too bad. ”–And I’m not throwing a fit because this shit hurts like hell, either. I’m fine. I don’t like people worrying over me. Join me for a beer, take me for a walk, have a chat with me. All good. But don’t treat me like your personal fragile porcelain doll or whatever. Christ. Just relax, take a deep breath. You look more affected than me. Maybe I should be the one who’s fussing over you, hm? Would you like that?” Finally, the mirror was closed again and her eyes met his. This was cold of her, and she knew it. But Ruka didn’t seem to understand how she worked, or what kind of treatment she preferred. She liked his carefree attitude, his compliments, his kindness and just his company in general. But he needed to understand this. He wasn’t allowed to get close. He wasn’t allowed to comfort her over nothing. And he sure as heck wasn’t allowed to treat her like a prissy gal who couldn’t stand up for herself. “I’ll tell you this much, hm? I have a really bad temper, hard to control. Can’t really be stopped. I admit that I was a real asshole back there, just because I could. Because I wanted to. It’s what I do in these kind of situations. You’ll need to be able to deal with that. If you can’t–” She shrugs. Feel free to never speak to me again, it seemed to imply. “–If you can…” A warm smile appeared on her features, and she pointed at her injury. “It’d be great if you could lend me a handkerchief to clean this mess.”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Concerned eyes remained glued to the figure, who, honestly was taking the entire thing a lot calmer than he imagined. If she had time to examine herself in the mirror, that probably meant... the pain wasn't all that bad? In other words, he was relieved that she wasn't suffering-- ...or, no, that couldn’t be it. There was no way it couldn't have hurt. The pain had probably numbed by now, and adrenaline most likely played a major role in subduing it, but he was starting to believe she was probably just about as good as concealing her pain as he was. although that was the most likely option in his mind, for his own mental sake, he was going to believe the former; that way, there would be at least one worry off his mind for the meantime. Still, that didn't do anything to lift the heavy stone off his heart. Why did it feel like he was being crushed by a transparent weight? Of course he didn't like seeing her injured -- but it's not like she was on the brink of death. She was standing in one piece; all in all she was fine, and he probably worried more than he should have. So why? Is it because she was ungrateful for being saved? Is it because of certain reasons behind it unknown to him? Or was there something more? Ruka pressed his lips together in a thin line, and as he heard the words that left her mouth, his eyes widened, almost as if he was witnessing the horror of her suddenly growing two heads or something. A transfixed moment of silence would pass by; his brain soaking in everything she was saying.
...And he really wished he didn't. What was she saying? Were the words just leaving her mouth without any prior forethought, or did she really mean it? His fingers curled inward, his hand forming a tight fist, clenching to the point where his whole arm began shaking. A horrible cacophony of emotions were all swirling inside him; exasperation, vexation... perhaps even an unwanted fury he was trying so desperately to rid. He was afraid that if he opened his mouth, he wouldn't be able to control anything that left it, and thus he was doing all he could to control himself. 'Calm down, Ruka... just calm down...' He had to repeat the phrase over and over again in his mind, as if it was some type of mantra.
How much time had even passed? Seconds ticked by, feeling like hours, and several agonizing moments latter, her eyes finally met with his again, though every emotion possible negative emotion he was written was written clear as day on his face. "...Idiot." The first word to have left his mouth was unemphatic and harsh. "Do you even know what the hell you're saying?" Usually, Ruka never used such rough language with anyone else but his brother (or enemies) when they got into serious spats, but after listening to something so unacceptable, he couldn't help himself. He was well aware of her temper, and she did tell him she couldn't hold back what she said, but damn! This was way worse than what he could have ever imagined. How many times could she - did she - get into trouble that way? And yet, through it all, she was claiming she didn't want or need any help?
"Then..." His lips- along with his general visage - warped into a sardonic smile, somewhat unfitting for such a situation.
"Next time, I won't help you. Is that what you want? Is that really want you want? Would you be happy if I never spoke to you again? If I was out of your life for good?" Ah, just as feared, his mouth was starting to run before he could zip it. Luckily, he managed to catch wind of his behavior, and quickly - almost too quickly - he pulled himself back while averting his gaze to the ground, a rueful expression full of contempt and self-loathing.
"...Sorry..." Did he scare her by doing what he did? Really, it was just as he feared... everyone who got involved with him ended up getting hurt one way or another. Even if it wasn't his fault and outside forces his control were in play, he felt absolutely cursed. "I don't... have a handkerchief..." He didn't even carry any tissues or napkins on him, which is mostly why whenever he got into disputes, he would always have no way to cover up his injuries or wipe off the blood. Looking back up, though not directly at her, he’d speak. "...But why don't we-- ...you go get some antiseptic first? You should get it disinfected..." And now his voice was in a soft whisper, barely audible unless one strained their ears. After his previous display, he wouldn't be surprised if the other never wanted to talk to him ever again.
He really didn’t do anything, and yet the likes of the delinquents surrounded him - maybe they were thugs and wanted his money? Or maybe because he looked weak and probably would get beat up easily. It didn’t bother him if he was going to fight back, surely the delinquents would learn a lesson.
Things however, changed when he heard a voice speak and all eyes turned towards him; the blond stranger must be crazy…to help him and get in a fight with the others. He didn’t need to, but at least Natsume knew it would make things a hell lot easier for him.
Still calm as ever, Natsume raised his hand to flick part of his hair back. He could defend himself and didn’t need ‘saving’.
“Oi oi, I can handle them myself, you know.”
In the blink of an eye, his left leg raised to kick one of them to the ground, unconscious right away, his leg back down on the ground. Brown hue’s staring at the delinquents who seemed rather shocked - he didn’t seem so weak after all.
“Ganging up on me that that, how unfair.” He says, using his other leg to kick another guy to the ground; brown hue’s turning to the stranger to see if he would help him or leave it as is.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Well, well, he wasn't really expecting the stranger to respond so ungratefully. Although it wouldn't be long until he'd soon figure out why. Ruka didn't even have time as to so much retort, because all too soon, the other male's foot collided with one of the delinquents, resulting in an instant KO. All too suddenly, he felt his blood start to pump throughout his veins; an excitement he hadn't felt since high school... and an excitement that he thought he had long put behind him. Shocked eyes from the audience were upturned, naturally.
Although it didn't appear visibly on his visage, the platinum-blond was also rather impressed by the display from the person he thought was defenseless. Maybe he shouldn't have gotten involved in the first place. "Wow... not bad. Guess I must've underestimated ya." He commented briefly right before someone bravely (or idiotically) decided to aim for him. Perhaps they thought he would've been weaker or something, to which Ruka would soon prove that thought wrong when he - in one swift and fluid motion - aimed a hard kick into the male's stomach before he could even so much as reach him. After a gasp and splutter, the delinquent collided to the ground. Looks like it wasn't able to knock him fully unconscious with one hit, but then again, he was holding back some, as if he was trying to contain his inner beast that was begging to make its great escape. And the thug was incapacitated, so it worked.
Man, and he didn't even want to fight, but considering how the entire group both aimed for him and the other male, in a rage of fury, there wasn't really any going back now. "Just try not to get in my way."
Although his tone was somewhat carefree, the uncharacteristically arrogant smirk that made its way onto his features as he allowed himself to go all out. He took a directly to he cheek, though his face didn't turn, nor did he budge or stagger. He always had been known by others as a horribly reckless fighter who seemed to fight as if he was aiming to get injured, and this just proved it. His raw knuckles made impact with the other's jaw, which was enough to send him reeling back, spiraling to the ground. The other who aimed for him was also easily taken care of; once again Ruka wasn't using any methods of dodging or trying to evade the attack; rather he took them head on before retaliating. And it always did the trick. Since he was so occupied with his own battles, he wasn't really even thinking about how the other guy was faring... but going by what he'd seen, he figured he should be fine. He possibly even might have sustained less injures than the blond himself did.

“Well, yes, whatever you want to call it.”
She gave a shrug at his question, it was always such a strange thing to have older men, who are supposed to know about sex, being shocked at this revelation. Maybe was it the age…
“Is that a yes, then?” She inquired as she scooted closer, pointing at a few other girls of the mansion behind them who were playing chess. “I’m happy is what I mean. I have more things here than I will ever have if I took another job.”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Was it a yes? He didn't give an answer, even as she scooted closer. His line of gaze followed her finger to where it pointed to the other women. "Oh, are they... your friends?" Well, that was sweet.
"But a cute, young girl like yourself would have plenty of opportunities in the world. Anyway, can't I convince you to let me stay for free~? I really, really need a place to sleep or tonight. ...Or maybe a few days. C'mon, I'll give you a piece of candy... or maybe three pieces of candy?" And now he's openly showing his lameness without a care in the world.
Yuuki purses his lips, his cheeks colouring again at how insistent and shameless the other is being. Who the hell says those things to strangers they’ve just met?
“I…have no comment about that,”
He clears his throat and answers Ruka’s more appropriate question.
“They’re…” he starts off, using a neutral pronoun instead of specifying. He’s not really comfortable making his sexuality known at the moment, especially to a stranger. “…the captain of the basketball team in my school. They’re also in the disciplinary committee with me. I just… admire their leadership and intellect, is all,”
Ruka is probably right about him liking someone with authority.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
No comment, huh? Ruka was half expecting what he said to be denied, but did that mean he was actually right? That wasn't even the most surprising part. "Ah, a girl who plays basketball with intelligence and leadership qualities? I can see why that would be attrac-- ...Hold on, you're in the disciplinary committee?" Now he’s eyeing him with scrutiny.
"Hummm. I can't really see it..." Did that mean the guy could actually be terrifying when he wanted to be? "So, do you yell at people and stuff when they do something wrong?" Yeah, he definitely couldn't see it. As he was thinking it over, the two would finally reach the line of the cafe, which was honestly... quite long. Darn. "Wooow... look at all of these couples here. They're all holding hands and standing so close to one another. Wanna do the same, Yuuki-chan~?" He asked while nudging the other male's shoulder with his elbow.
“Yeah!” Takeshi’s face was bright and utterly sunny as he address the other man. “A stand up comedian, huh? That sounds pretty fun! Though, I’d have to decline. I’m already the side kick to someone else already, sorry!” He gave the blonde a sheepish yet apologetic gaze.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
"Ehhh, you're another lucky person's sidekick already? That's too bad... 'cause y'know, I'm pretty sure we would've been a pretty great team. Me, as the Red Ranger, and you... as the... trusty dog?" Once again, he was just randomly spewing out whatever nonsense he could think of, just so he could gauge reactions. "Anyway, what's your name?" And there he goes, jumping sporadically from one topic to another.
Was he afraid of humans? A loud snort escapes the creature as he fiercely shakes his head. “No.” He hasn’t been afraid of a human for a long time, now cautious and wary? Yes, humans were sneaky creatures when they wanted to be, which is why you couldn’t trust them all the time. His gaze flits down to the offered loaf he previously sat down, ears twitching at the nickname. Rai-chan?
Ah, that’s right he never actually gave the guy his name. Taking back his bread, Thor nods at the blond in thanks before taking a large bite from it. There’s a few moments of silence between the pair as the rodent chews, then he swallows the bread looking directly at the male. “My name is Thor, and I don’t mind humans, I just hate what you create.” Pokéballs. If there was one human object in the world the creature truly both hated and feared at the same time, it was the Pokéball. Those stupid things took his family away from him, along with many other Pokémon.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Oh, he wasn't? Well then. When the creature took back the bread, Ruka rested his chin in the palm of his hand as he kept his gaze on him fondly.
"Thor, huh? What a cool name. Mmhm, a very cool name or a very cool piglet~" He cooed before blinking. What humans create? The first thought to pop into his mind was war and conflicts, and if so, he definitely couldn't agree more. Instead of asking, he was just going to assume that was it. "Humm... well yeah, I guess I understand what you mean. ...We're pretty terrible beings, aren't we? In fact..." His smile skewed into a somewhat more satirical one--
"I think I may be the worst of them all." Now how would Thor react to that? Not that there wasn't some truth behind it, or so Ruka felt.
Suspicious as hell. It was unusual for Andrea to pick up on things like this, but it really seemed that Ruka had a similar way of dealing with people as she did. A thick layer of carefree words and kindness to mask that he didn’t want to get close. In her case, it was more sarcasm and kindness. Well, in any case, it’d mean they wouldn’t needlessly get closer to each other. “No problem, Blondie.” She waved his thanks off with an idle hand gesture, scanning her surroundings for a moment, wondering what to do later. Maybe she could ask Ruka here to show her around, direct her to a good phone store, even, so she could get that pre-paid card and immediately give him her number. That’d be convenient. “–Eh? Poorly? It’s not like it’s an insult, is it?” She scratched the back of her head, absent-mindedly, while trying to remember the other things she still needed to do today. Fill in a ton of administrative forms that the university gave her, mostly. The one huge downside on this whole exchanging schools experience. “It’s the plain truth. I don’t give off the ‘cute’ vibe, I give off the ‘cool’ vibe. Like you.” Ha. Compliment. She’s narrowing her eyes, as though to dare him to deny that fact – not his coolness, hers. He’d better watch out with calling her that; she tolerated it when it came from others, but with Ruka it somehow felt slightly patronising. She didn’t like it; he could carelessly wave away her comments but she wasn’t allowed to do with his? That’s just unfair, Blondie.
Did she really dislike it that much, he asked. And she paused, considering her words. Wondering whether she’d voice her earlier thoughts. Andrea opted not to, instead allowed a carefree smile to don her features. Much like Ruka’s. “Dislike? Ahh, is that what you think?” She imitated his almost annoyingly evasive answers. Let him see what it feels like to be given a question in response as an answer. “I wonder if that’s it, hmm. But, would it make you sad if I did~?”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Did she mean she was actually complimenting herself by saying what she did? No matter how Ruka looked at it, those traits she used to describe herself weren't ones to be held in a good light. Was she some type of masochist? Such a pretty woman couldn't have been-- right? The more he observed, the more he realized certain little actions of hers, along with her body language which seemed to show she was becoming slightly more disinterested, what with how she began looking around and scratching the back of her head. Was it due to the topic itself? It was almost as if she was trying not to put too much thought into it, but after briefly mirroring her actions and not catching anything of interest, his gaze returned to her form. Well, again, better not put any thought into it. "Mm, that's no good. Only one of us can be the cool one, and only one of us can be the cute one. Since you already called me cool, you're stuck being cute~ Cuteness suits you better, anyway." He commented breezily with a smile to match. It's not like it wasn't the truth... all girls were cute in general. Usually.
"Eh?" That wasn't the response he was looking for. Instead of giving any sort of negative reaction though, he'd only let out a thoughtful hum. "Kinda... but if you don't have an answer, then does that mean I can still keep calling you An-chan?" He already had a feeling on what she was about to say, but he just decided to straightforwardly ask anyway. "It would make me a little sad if you disliked it. I thought of the nickname myself, you know?" With how his tone never lost its merry edge, one could possibly have problem taking him seriously... but perhaps there might've been a teeny speck of truth. "But would you get upset if I said I didn't like the nickname you gave me?" And now it was his turn to question her.
“ CAREFUL… you say? ”
As if response, Gaius merely regarded the other male with continual bafflement. What an oddly cryptic phrase. One thing was for sure, however - he’ll definitely WRITE back to his siblings about this STRANGE character. Though the brunet took ( n o t i c e ) of the rain, it hardly bothered him MUCH as he pressed on after him with careful brisk steps.
“ Still, there’s a high possibility that it was FATE itself which permitted the goddess to send fortunate winds our way. ” Gaius adds, upon continuing on from his earlier statement.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Aside from the general bewilderment, the other male handled it rather well. "Hmm? That's not something you should say to someone who just told you should be careful of them, is it? I wouldn't call our meeting fortunate... for you at least." This guy certainly was an oddball. Most people would have started questioning him or would have left him by then. Yet this one was agreeing that their chance encounter was indeed fortunate?
"Well, look there... that's the place I was heading." As if his former ambiguous phrasing was no big deal, he’d soon point to a game center. With free time and nothing else to do, he wanted to simply pend his time unproductively by playing video games. And now he had company, it would surely be much more fun! "How good are you at games?" He’d then inquire curiously.
"Likewise, hottie.” He winks at him.
“Show you around Toshima? You still wanna be here? There’s nothing to see … everything’s in ruins. But I guess at night, you can look up at the sky and see some pretty nice stars. The entire city is shut down so there’s no light pollution here and the sky is crystal clear.”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Compliment is brushed off... as always. "There's nothing at all here?" Well, the entire place did seem more than just a little run-down. But-- "Oh, stars? Do you like them or find them interesting or something?"
“ Whatever, man. Just… don’t run your mouth && we’ll be as cool as ice. ” he states. Within seconds, HOWEVER, Vivek proceeds to gently slam a fist into an open palm before cracking the knuckles.
“ But if you do… I’d really hate to end you personally. How can I ensure you WON’T tell, hm? Not like you’d be satisfied with just a simple candle lit dinner alone, right?” Even with such a THREATENING act, Vivek still had no intention of using violence. In fact, to him, this was just a scare tactic.
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Oh? "Wow~" Instead of being intimidated, Ruka seemed amused. He had to admit, the guy's words actually sounded pretty cool-- And it was a good thing the blond didn't take threats like those so personally anymore, otherwise he probably would have threatened him right back.
"You're a cool guy... I think I like ya. But it's not good to be so scary, you know?" He chimed, as if he was lecturing him. "Let's see... what can I do to make it up to you? I’ve got no money if that’s what you’re after. Maybe I can help you find a nice girl? Or do you have a girlfriend already?” Now starts the shamelessness...
Augustina was on her back, glaring up at the man who stood by her. She was saving her cat from her tree and slipped. He was right, her fall wasn’t as graceful as she prayed it would be.
“A little… help? I can’t really move and my cat is still in the tree.”;
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Oh, right.. he should help her. It's a good thing he was able to tell the fall hadn't been that much of a serious one, or else he wouldn't be this calm about it. Walking over to her, Ruka extended his hand out, and once she took it, he pulled her back up. "Sorry, sorry... you okay?" And then he looked up toward the tree.
"You were pretty brave to attempt to get your kitty back by yourself instead of requesting for help. It seems like a stubborn little one~ I guess this is a job for a hero, then?"
『 ♡︰🇧🇷🇴🇰🇪🇳 🇩🇴🇱🇱. 』
Her vinyl feet made few steps closer to him, as if his words affected her an she wished to protect herself from said villains that could be lurking around. She first didn’t get that he was trying to imitate her speech, brows furrowing deeper, attempting to look threatening.
“N-Non, not scared. But… no hurt me.”
____ . { ♛ } . ____
Golden amber orbs never once left her form. Was she a little intimidated by what he said? And was she trying to say she didn’t want to be hurt? "Be careful. When you say stuff like that, you can make some people wanna do the complete opposite." His smile twisted into a slightly bitter one for a moment, though like an illusion, a second's passed and his original expression was in place.
"...But you're right. I'm not a bad guy, for now, so I'm not gonna hurt you... yet~"
