I think it’s fun to see the kings as brothers and I would to see how they feel about it. Maybe like Ky giving Chaos the shovel talk?

oh anon you don't know how much time I've spent thinking over this exact prompt!!! the thing I love most about guilty gear is how there is such an amazing cast that has prime potential fro super fun interactions!! especially with the kings of Illyria because we already see how their dynamics play out in the story and there's just so much to write about when you add more people into the mix!! d–(ᵔ‿ᵔ✿)z

I swear I could write a whole ass essay about the dynamics between the kings + Ky's family + royalblue and unfortunately my spring break has ended (rip me D:) so writing is on the back burner BUT I will give my summed up thoughts for now until I have time to write (under the cut because holy shit this is me condensing my notes from my notes app about them that has been just full of incoherent jumbled thoughts)

Dizzy: she just wants what's best for everyone, Daryl and Chaos included. tbh I feel like Dizzy and Chaos would be hobby buddies and gossip buddies, so they'd like. crochet when Ky and Daryl are doing king stuff and get coffee on Thursdays just to shit talk their partners (lovingly ofc). Chaos has so many hobbies and he totally tries to get Dizzy in on them, she does it in return (hc: Dizzy teaches Chaos how to bird watch because why not)

Leo: I totally think he and Daryl are like brothers who hate each other and have a pretty rocky relationship. I feel like a lot of their clashes in Xrd and Strive stem from the fact Daryl is almost completely objective while Leo is like 'Daryl no. don't nuke people.' so Leo seeing Daryl not being objective for once and loving someone outside of his job who Leo would never expect him to fall for gets Daryl some respect in Leo's book if that makes sense?? they still fight ofc but Leo now sees that Daryl isn't just an unfeeling machine that only works to better Illyria at all costs

Ky: I COULD WRITE AN ESSAY ON KY ALONE ABOUT HIS STANCE ON ROYALBLUE. like Leo, he's kinda like brothers with Daryl except Ky's more of the mediator of the three of them. I think he'd be skeptical when he first gets wind of the relationship (who knows Chaos could be doing magic shenanigans to influence Daryl), but once he learns the full story (aka they are actually infatuated with one another and deeply in love) he's like huh wait okay. there's now someone (Chaos) in Daryl's life who can convince him to stop working so hard for once and relax, who actually makes Daryl think outside his usual objective logical viewpoint for once, who makes Daryl happier.. except it's still Chaos who is most certainly an annoying shit to Ky about the fact Daryl's in love with him

OH BOY AND KY WOULD SO GIVE THE SHOVEL TALK TO CHAOS!!!!! tbh if anyone could kill an immortal in this series it would probably be Ky (or like. Bedman. but he's dead) because the whole 'defeat Sol' 'crusade war crimes' and 'help kill god I-No' thing. or at least Ky thinks he could and he makes Chaos aware that if he does anything to hurt Daryl, Chaos will be found dead in a ditch and his case will go unsolved forever

holy crap this is longer than I initially meant and I could write so much more I just love guilty gear so much. especially government found family. I am ill about them. I was up thinking about this prompt for two hours before falling asleep last night. then I had a dream Strive 2 released and Chaos got a helicopter with Daryl's face on it in story mode. I think I need help

I love reading about domestic chaosdaryl, because they seem to bring out the best in one another. But one thing I really enjoy seeing is Daryl’s occasional curiosity (and admiration) about Happy Chaos and his unique appearance, his magic, and other such things…

So, I thought it would be a silly prompt if Daryl interacted with one of Chaos’s clones, or, did something particularly beautiful with his magic. I’m not really sure now, the idea was clearer before but it’s all fuzzy.

I do agree, I like writing them as if they bring out the best in one another, even if I could totally see it being the opposite. Daryl gets to shine with his wittiness, and Chaos gets to have his fun in a way that isn't completely destructive to the world at large

OUGHHH AND THE CURIOSITY. I've really got to write more about Daryl just admiring Chaos's unique appearance or his magic or etc. because that is prime sweet fluff territory. I will forever stand by the headcanon that Chaos's horns are sensitive because that is just such a funny idea. plus it's another way Daryl can tease him and is that really such a bad thing?? I think not!!

anyway to the meat of this wonderful ask,, I think it would be SO funny if Daryl interacted with one of Chaos's clones. I'm a big fan of the trope that a clone is still their own person, so it would be even funnier if this Chaos is NOTHING like the original Chaos, which only leads to more fluff because Daryl can appreciate his Chaos more, knowing he is a one in a million, if that makes any sense. he could even meet a Chaos from another universe because of shenanigans, and I feel like he'd come to the same conclusion. because fluff

and the part with beautiful magic OOOOOOOHOOO!! I spent a while thinking about what would be the most beautiful thing Chaos could do with his magic last night (I saw this ask between waking up and falling back asleep), and I think the answer is nature (because no, chaosdaryl can't be the most beautiful thing in a chaosdaryl fic smh). they could take a brief one night vacation because Daryl just wants to get away from it all, and Chaos takes him to his favorite place on the planet that isn't just a bustling hub of people

idk where he'd take Daryl yet, but that is for me to find out before I start writing this fic because yes, this is turning into a fic 100%, same with the silly clone idea. either they go somewhere on Earth, or Chaos does a projection thingy where he wanders the universe with Daryl, showing him the cosmos and the scale of the universe compared to his little ol job. either way, this fic is going to be written one way or another

if your original idea does become clearer at any point, just let me know and I'll tweak what I write according to what you'd like!! I hope this isn't wandering too far from what you suggested, and I hope you'll enjoy the fics once they get written!! I actually did get the chance to read The Prettiest Star, and I absolutely loved it <3

I always laugh reading Daryl and Chaos’s back and fourth banter, but it was especially funny seeing Daryl poke fun at Chaos because he couldn’t make as good of a replica of himself as Asuka did! I feel like Chaos would definitely be a bit butthurt over that, and you captured it perfectly.

They really are such a sweet and funny couple, it’s fun to see them mess with each other from time to time.

And the addition of Chaos from an alternate universe! I love switching between all the palettes that ggst has to offer, but sometimes I get really caught up playing around with them (especially when it comes to Chaos ^^;), and forget to actually.. Well, play the game.

In any case! I found it interesting that Chaos’s variations, while ultimately slightly different from him due to life experiences, would still be the same at the core(?). And the focus on Chaos’s uniqueness.. Daryl is honestly such a sweetheart, and he couldn’t be more right!

writing Daryl and Chaos's back and forth banter is one of my favorite things to do, so hearing it makes you laugh is amazing! also Daryl would TOTALLY make fun of Chaos because he isn't as good as Asuka (even though if he really REALLY tried, he probably could make a good clone. He Is Not Trying Though). and Chaos is hurt over it because hey isn't he supposed to be complimented by his lover?? he's doing his best here (lie)!!

same here!! I really love looking at all the color palettes on dustloop for all the characters. seeing them all lined up is very satisfying, and I love identifying the minute differences between colors (especially for Chaos). alternate universe characters are always so interesting to me because yeah, they are going to be slightly different. otherwise, they wouldn't be from an alternate universe! even if the differences are small, they are there, which makes every version unique in their own ways :3

Daryl totally sees this, and ofc he tells this to Chaos just to fluster him (it works). because Chaos is Special To Him :)

Meowdy! This is kind of weird to ask, but, do you have any tips on writing Happy Chaos?

I’ve been wanting to write a fanfiction of him for ages, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to portray him while still remaining true to his canon counterpart.

meowdy to you too!! this isn't a weird ask at all!! Happy Chaos is a very hard character to write, and I still struggle with him every now and then. I feel like I've been writing Chaos for so long it's just a natural thing to me, so I'll try my best to give you advice!

the biggest thing that might be a little out of character is that he's a lonely guy to me. like however you want to see it (me personally, I like seeing them as besties, but if you like 'em romantically or a secret third thing all the power to you), he immediately latches on to I-No. because we haven't seen him since Strive's story, we don't know how he's dealing with the loss of a person who was dear to him

is he lonely, losing the one friend he had in centuries? or does he shrug it off and move onto the next thing? if you want to go with a more humanized version of him, you could go with the former and really make him a sad puppy dog. or you could go with the go with the flow kind of person he is, and have him not care, move on to the next person, etc. etc.

((chaosdaryl side note this is why I write him going to Daryl post-Strive: because he's lonely as fuck and hey that one king was kinda interesting yeah?? why not bug him?? Oopsies Chaos Falls In Love))

the main part of his character is his love for drama. he wants FUN. he wants to see the world burn and then watch fire fighters put the fires out, if that makes sense. he doesn't want stagnation or boredom, he wants to constantly be entertained by something big or small. I think a nice example of this is on his character introduction with the likes and hobbies, it not only says that his likes change often because his lack of attachment, but also a toy jewel he picked up somewhere

yes, he moves on from things often, but he appreciates what they give him in the time he spends with them ((chaosdaryl side note #2 because I am brain rotted I feel like with people, it is a little different from hobbies and other disposable things, just because a person has the ability to change, to grow, to rise against the odds and surprise him, unlike an object. see Daryl))

if you're looking to write post-Strive stuff, I really like the thought of him seeking a reason for his existence. when I-No was around, his goal was her goal. he wanted to help her achieve godhood. but now that she's gone, what purpose does he have for existing? 

the only thing he truly loves is his car and gun /j ((chaosdaryl side note #3 and Daryl because you're asking me for tips))

also don't forget his long philosophical rants. those are important and I haven't managed to nail them yet sobinsgs.

anyway that's the big parts of Chaos I think about while writing. whoopsies this turned out longer than I intended but you know what I am a yapper and this is my favorite topic to yap about.
