My name is Iso, I'm in my mid 20s, and I'm a zombie. I use the terms nonhuman, undead or living dead
I use she/her and ey/em (spivak) pronouns
No DNI but I will block/filter anything I don't wanna see

Bellow you will find more info about me, a link to a post detailing my tagging system as well as some things to keep in mind when perusing this blog
About me
My hobbies include collecting plushies and vinyl records.
I am POSIC, and my belief system is somewhat similar to animism. I collect plushies. Most of them are stuffed animals, and I also have some fandom related ones. Between my roommate and I, we have around 70 in total. Bonding with them is very important to me, as I perceive them to be sentient thought-forms whose vessels can be changed when they become worn down due to being well loved.
My lifelong special interest is zombie media, and post-apocalyptic media more broadly. My personal favorites in the genre are The Walking Dead franchise (which sparked my interest in the first place) and World War Z (the book).
I'm planning on learning how to drive, so I can buy an RV and travel with my roommate and our plushies.

Things to keep in mind:
this is mostly a non-human blog, although I do tend to talk about a lot of other things on here, including but not limited to: special interests and hyper-fixations, being mentally ill and neuroatypical
i'm dx with ADHD and i'm on Ritalin and mood stabilizers. I'm also autistic and I plan to talk to my psychiatrist about potential OCD
important: i will not engage in any kind of political debate or discussion, and generally want to avoid conflict over politics
i'm from eastern europe & tend to avoid discussions that aren't relevant to my corner of the world, especially Very Online™ or doomer takes; important: i especially don't want to hear about american politics social issues and discourse. nothing against it, it just doesn't concern me. while i do like some amount of cultural conversation, my geographical placement renders many western-centric discussions irrelevant to my life in general, as i have my own local politics to worry about
Fuck Meyer-Briggs whatever typology. This INTFP shit is only for redditors up their own asses to substitute for a personality. Use my new typology instead!
getting fixated on something is funny because the first like week i have an insatiable need to tell everyone i know about it and spread the good word but by weeks 2 and 3 it becomes so intense and personal that even hearing it mentioned in public makes me sweat as if a dark secret was alluded to
something that doesn’t sit right with me about the ending of wicked is i feel like Elphaba wouldn’t just leave her best friend behind. like, she could’ve at least let Glinda know that she’s alive instead of leaving her grief-stricken. i get that clearing Elphaba’s name would’ve been a bit too much of a wish-fulfillment fantasy, but the whole point of Elphaba’s character is that while she’s naturally gifted at magic and reading the Grimerie, she’s too emotionally volatile to handle her powers. so why would Glinda be any different after having to lie to the entirety of Oz and losing her dearest friend?

As a community we really need to focus more on archiving. The internet archive, personal websites, screenshots (posted publicly & permanently), physical print pictures. These are easy ways to archive information. We can’t expect social media sites to be around forever.
People are being banned and the internet is being scrubbed clean for advertisers every day. We have been lucky so far that the origins of the nonhuman/alterhuman community have been archived pretty well, but we need to do our part in preserving our history for the generations that come after us.
Not even just the “important” stuff like coining of new terms, meet ups, etc but we should be preserving regular alterhuman life as well. Show them that we were here!
@who-is-page, @houseofchimeras, @frameacloud and i did a panel at othercon on this topic!
as well, the Alterhuman Archive is a zotero archive and a discord server that allows folks to submit things to the archive!
for those who want to do a neocities to have their own personal space, Chief held a panel at centaurus festival on the basics of how to build a website!
Cannot emphasize enough that if you feel inclined to archive, you can and should follow that dream! More archives are always better than fewer, and many of the archives that we ourselves relied on when we were young alterhumans (like the Werelibrary) are long since gone. The Alterhuman Archive is a great project that I'm proud to be a part of, but we always need more independent archives, especially for more focused/niche subjects or topics or formats that are likely to be overlooked, missed, or which would just be beneficial to have in a singular concise and easily searchable location (like @nova-dracomon's brilliant Alterhuman Zines nekoweb site).
Another thing that you can do to assist with archival is to write about the things that are actively going on in the community, and how you feel about them. Make FAQs, make personal glossaries where you define common terms as you understand them in your own words. You would not believe how incredibly important accounts like these--on things we may typically consider discourse or even "drama", or just basic alterhumanity 101--are for understanding what the culture around a community was at the time of writing, what the ongoing frameworks were, and other historically important tidbits of information like names of groups, words, and people that may otherwise have not been recorded or survived to the time when people are reading back on the writings. You've heard of "Piracy is Preservation," now get ready for "Kvetching is Conservation." Write, and store it somewhere more stable than just Tumblr (though you can cross post it here, too!); ideally use a personal website, but you could even use a Dreamwidth if you need to stick to a stable social media platform.
fuuuuck i just realized that the future idealized version of myself cant exist without current me being the catalyst for change and doing hard things. has anybody heard about this
