I really love music (specifically MICO, Conan Gray, Laufey, Olivia Rodrigo, and musical theatre as a whole), script/story writing, volleyball, and acting! Omg guys a really embarrassing thing happened to me yesterday while I was at work, and idk if anyone else would find this embarassing but I did LMAOO

FUCKKK WHY CANT I BE NONCHALANT LIKE EVER

I work in a grocery store in the deli department, and yestersay I just had my first 5 hour shift in like a month and I was so tired omg

I was so zoned out and I was doing the dishes, and usually the store has some music playing so it’s fine, but the music randomly stopped and it was just silence for like I kid you not 10 minutes

And it was taking me a while to wash the dishes because there were like 20 spoons, 10 knives, and a few other containers and stuff like that

And mind you NO ONE was talking to me, my coworker was closing pizza which was on the opposite side of the area, so I was just alone doing the dishes

And bc I was bored I was humming to songs I like in my head, but then when I would forget the next part I’d move onto a different one, and eventually I ran out of songs so idk why but Todd’s poem from DPS came to my mind

And I know this poem off by heart bc I had to do an analysis of it, as well as play the whole scene in front of the class and explain the importance of it and stuff like that

So I start reciting it, and when I got to the end ig my mind just kept giving me lines of poetry so I started reciting Shall I Compare Thee To a Summer’s Day, Edible Woman, and O Captain My Captian (other poems I had to analyze)

And then I eventually went back to Todd’s bc I forgot the rest of the other poems I did

And then I hear “uh… sorry- can I just spray there?”

NOT ONLY DID NY COWORKER HEAR MY PERFORMATIVE ASS RECITING POETRY WHILE WATCHING DISHES BUT I DROPPED THE SPOON I WAS WASHING IN THE SINK AND GOT SOAP WATER IN MY EYE

AND THEN SHE WAS APOLOGIZING AND I WAS APOLOGIZING AND UGHHH

AND THEN SHE GOES “were you just… reciting poetry?”

LIKE UGH

And I was like “uh, hah, yeah..”

and she went “oh, thats cool..”

BUT SHE SAID IT IN A WAY THAT I KNOW SHE WAS LIKE WHY TF IS THIS KID MUMBLING POETRY WHILE WASHING DISHES

Again not too bad but I’ve never embarrassed myself like that at work before

I kinda like the idea of jax becoming a cautionary tale of what happens when you let dysphoria and self hatred eat you alive. I've met so many of him IRL in my own circles. I think people need to hear it. I need more characters who eat themselves alive and actually have to suffer the consequences of not choosing to be better. It's pretty refreshing to see a different and nuanced take on dysphoria and how it doesn't always manifest the way you would expect.
