Hi! I'm Morgan or whatever, I'm a disabled trans woman living in the UK. You might know me from being very gay about women's pro wrestling and liveblogging the shit out of AEW shows.

What you might not know is that that's basically all I do with my time, because I'm too disabled to work or do anything else. Which has made money pretty tight. I've been able to struggle through the past few years on benefits and borrowing money from friends, but now I need help.

I need to move house next month, and thanks to a bunch of other unexpected costs, I basically can't afford the first month's rent or security deposit on my new place. And if I can't pay those, I'm gonna be homeless, which I very much do not want thank you very much.

Honestly the more I think about it, the more ridiculous it feels to say that Mercedes Moné wouldn't give a shit whether Willow Nightingale becomes World Champion. Like, of course she would, dumbass!

Mercedes not getting involved in Willow v Thekla is just a really transparent way to avoid having to give the women's division more time and attention, to me at least.

Like, I can see how it might seem in character at first blush. But Willow beating her and taking the TBS title in December is what caused her to crash out so hard she didn't show up to work in AEW for five or six months. With that in mind, I think it'd make way more sense for her to want to fuck over Willow and make sure Thekla wins at Redemption. Partly out of spite for Willow, but also out of fear of facing her again so soon, out of fear of having her chance at bouncing back and redeeming herself for losing the TBS title taken away from her by the same woman.

I just think that, as usual with AEW, we could be telling way more interesting stories with way more members of the women's division (don't even get me started on Stat), but we're not, because misogyny.

I didn't post about the Thekla/Willow promo last night because I didn't have my phone for most of the show, but to summarise my thoughts:

Thekla must be stopped (affectionate)

Willow is an evil bitch (affectionate)

I love them

I couldn't tell if Thekla was drunk or if I was

A part of me kinda wants Thekla to win because if her energy does that to Willow Nightingale, I really really wanna see what she does to Mercedes Moné

A part of me still wants Willow to win, because if being opposite Thekla does that to her, I really really wanna see what this Willow looks like opposite Mercedes

still only two women's matches on redemption huh. still no women's tag titles on redemption huh.

some belts aew could add to the women's division:

tournament championship (crucially has a different name and is on a different schedule to the c2. should be a trophy or something instead of a belt but since the c2 set the precedent, the women get a belt too)

global championship (intended primarily for crossover shows with cmll and stardom and potentially other future partners, and also shows they do outside of the us and canada. a real Best In The World, Not Just Right Here title)

faction championship (it can be specifically trios/six man i guess but trios wrestling is less the point. the point is giving aew material incentive to have more (Any) women's factions)

speed championship (i don't think we should necessarily be encouraging them to keep women's matches shorter than men's matches but i'm fantasybooking here so my vision is that the speed title matches are short and all other women's matches get longer)
