Finally finally watched JGU v Kris Statlander at APC Triumph in Paris, and, girls, you'll never believe this: I really enjoyed it!
Phenomenal showing from both, JGU has only been at this for 2 years, and her relative inexperienced compared to Stat absolutely comes through in the match, but in a way that feels purposeful and compelling.
Stat kinda humiliated JGU at times, but that's the point, Stat is kinda heely in this one - not in the ruthless killer way she was with Charlie at Queendom, but in a sassy, cocky way. She's better and she knows it, and she has a lot of fun at JGU's expense. It's always nice seeing Stat getting the chance to have some real character and charisma when she's outside of AEW.
And that all allows JGU to put on a great underdog babyface, which makes a lot of sense for an APC match. She's got a lot of grit, she's not letting Stat get to her and she's not going down without a proper fight. And as the match goes on, she absolutely uses Stat's underestimation against her and really starts to lay on the hurt and push her to the edge. Stat has to lock the fuck in by the end, and she clearly comes out of it with a lot of respect for JGU. And JGU is as beautifully traumatised as I've ever seen her. Both wrestlers come out of the match looking incredible, which is really impressive.
It's just everything I could ever want from a match between these two. Still kinda crazy that it happened, tbh.

mark davis vs joe lando for the aew national belt from last month fucking SLAPPED!!! davis gave lando (one of my silly little guys) so much and made him look great. sucks that he's not able to work in the US right now but it's given me this sooooo <333
thinking about the Death Before Dishonor 2026 poster and how Zayda has a prominent spot and is the only non-champ included on it (excluding that cool as fuck dragon). anyway, fantasy booking her turning on red velvet (and ig skyflight) and winning the TV title off of her on the PPV. bonus points if she's being manipulated by an older woman in a psychosexual nightmare situation (affectionate)
