I feel crushed under The weight of the wait I hear the thunder The fear and the hate

Oh it's getting to me I feel it closing in The fear of defeat The sound of singing

Just a moment too late Grasping at straws I've sealed my fate Fingers turned claws

Forget to Love (22 Jan 2018)

Sometimes you just forget to love You forget what it means to care When push comes to shove When life reminds you it's not fair

Sometimes you forget to call But she needs to hear your voice Wondering if she'll even hear from you at all She'll think you made a conscious choice

Sometimes you forget to say goodnight Too tired to think about the rest You've stopped putting up a fight She's started to accept less

Sometimes you forget to kiss her forehead She'll remember it for years Wondering what she could have done instead To avoid all these tears

But when you remember Even for a single moment To show her that you love her She'll know that you meant it

Run Out of Patience (22 Jan. 2018)

I just need things to be better I need more good things to come I always feel so bitter I'm calling out for someone

What I have is not enough To stave off the loneliness Why is life so rough Why is it so heartless

I want to break everything Tear it all to shreds I can't hear myself think Late at night, in my bed

"Good things come to those who wait" Well, I've run out of patience All that's left is hate And it's weighing on my conscience

_A cold winter morning For you, a steaming cup of coffee The snow, glimmering For me, a warm cup of tea_ _A bright spring day For you, freshly cut grass All around, the smell of hay For me, lemonade in a tall glass_ _A hot summer afternoon For you, a bottle of water A ukulele just out of tune For me, an otter_ _A brisk fall evening For you, hot apple cider Under our feet, leaves crunching For me, pumpkin candles and a lighter_

Lift the Curse (Dec. 30th 2017)

The first day was the worst 364 days to go Until you can lift the curse Until I'll finally know

Six months came and went No letters, messages, or calls I'm sitting on a fence Will you even come at all?

The last day, never ending I had waited a year The days were now blending But the moment is finally here

I took a deep breath Expecting to be happy Instead, I faced death You'd forgotten about me

If This Was a Movie (Nov. 18)

Alright guys... this is the last poem written during the shows. We'll see if Couch keeps this going in the future. I hope you all like this last improvised poem!!

If this was a book You'd be calling me After giving me that look And we'd end up happy

If this was a movie You'd beg to have me back Tell me you can't be happy I'm so good in the sack

If this was a song You'd say all the right things That we just belong But... you can't sing

Your eyes Blue like the sea Saw through my disguise Saw right through me

Your hands Held tight in mine My plans Became our plans with time

Your lips Always on my forehead Hands on my hips Rather be with you instead

I sat by the phone

Waiting for your call

I'm stuck here at home

In a never ending fall

I can't believe I lost you

I messed up big time

I don't know what to do

To get you to be mine

Please call me back

I need you to try

Our show can't go black

Or else I'll cry

Out of nowhere it rings

I can hear it in your voice

Wish I could change everything

It Wasn’t Enough (Nov. 16 Matinee)

Last year, we met at the bar You felt so familiar We drove off in your car It felt right to be together

Last month, we had our first fight I was so terrified Nothing felt right I discovered you lied

Last week, you packed up your stuff I didn't want you to go But it wasn't enough At least now we know

Last night, I met a new guy He was so sweet He's just so fly But he smells like feet

Not the One (Nov. 15 evening)

When I first saw you I knew You were not the one We were already through It had all been said and done

I went along with it anyway Trying to forget him Though he was in my head all day Even as I stroked your chin

Yeah I know you were my best shot I know you were the best Yeah you know I tried a lot But I just couldn't settle for less

I Will Not Love Another (Nov. 15 Matinee)

I loved him From the bottom of my heart I missed him We were so far apart

It rained all day And it rained all night I'll never be okay I always lose the fight

I travelled across the world Just to find him again But he was with a girl He wanted to be friends

My heart broke in pieces The world is drained of colour And although he may forget me I will not love another

Why Don’t We Stay Here

Okay so this is the first poem on my blog, let's start it off with something Bobolink inspired! Y'all know he travels a bunch, so we're apart a bunch and there's a load of goodbyes. Those goodbyes inspired this.

I sit with you by the water As we smile at the sunset And the light grows ever softer I don't want to leave just yet

This moment is so perfect I don't want to let it go It's a moment I can't forget It's something I'll always know

So why don't we stay here A little while longer The moment is so near Where we won't be together

So why don't we stay here Remember every moment Soon it won't be so clear We won't feel this emotion

Now the sun is out of sight The magic has disappeared The moon is shining bright And all that's left is fear

We look out to the night Knowing we have to leave I want to hold on tight Want something to believe

So why don't we stay here A little while longer The moment is so near Where we won't be together

So why don't we stay here Remember every moment Soon it won't be so clear We won't feel this emotion

And now you're driving off For the very last time I'll always miss your love I'll miss your hand in mine

As a tear rolls down my face I know we can't go back You'll never be replaced I won't forget the past

So why don't we stay here A little while longer The moment is so near Where we won't be together

So why don't we stay here Remember every moment Soon it won't be so clear We won't feel this emotion

But even though it hurts me I know we can't stay here Someday I will be happy Someday, I know, I'll heal.
