Having a favorite patient is pretty gay, if you ask me. Oh, you're "Fascinated" by him? He's your "Pet?" Your "Bird?" Just kiss already ffs.

This is where I'll be posting my thoughts on Dr. John 'Jack' Seward and R.M. Renfield, from the Dracula novel (and possibly some of the movies, haven't found any I've liked yet though lmao). I'll probably post some other stuff here too, though.

As a general rule, everyone is welcome here, regardless of how you feel about the Renward ship or either of its characters! Just respect my tastes and I'll respect yours. And if it matters, I do consider myself pro-fiction and by extension proship.

I'm nineteen, in college, and enjoy writing fanfic in my free time! I'll respond to any pronouns but generally prefer the 'main three' (he/she/they), with no real preference between them.

Idk what tone to read this in, so:

If you meant this as a serious question- It's definitely not only a metaphor for sex. Blood drinking can be a metaphor for a ton of different things, both in vampire media as a whole and in Dracula specifically. I just chose to focus on the erotic/sexual meaning for my post because that's what benefits me as someone who runs a Seward/Renfield ship blog.

If you meant this as a wink-wink-nudge-nudge bit- Yeah, what did happen ;)

I'm so attached to my sphinx-cat Renfield design recently, I think since giving him form as a mii my love for him has only grown. I wanna draw him but I suck so bad at art...

(also, I'm gonna be honest, it's definitely an excuse to give him giant unsettling blue eyes that dilate according to his emotions. Cat characters are the BEST because you can show so much with their big stupid eyes)

ideally I would make a full cosplay but I don't want to have to explain to people that I invested my own time and money into creating a fucking fursuit based on rm fucking renfield from bram stoker's beloved literary classic dracula (1897)

I loooove how accidentally perfect the cat motifs are for him, though. Like I could write an entire post rambling aimlessly about how well cat metaphors represent Renfield but it just made this post feel clunky when I tried to add it so we'll save it for another time.
