Have you ever not had your period in (literally) ten years, and then you get it, and it’s crazy, and you are even more emotional than you already are, and you’re a mom, and tonight your husband was gone, and instead of hanging out with your kid, you put together shelves while he hung out playing video games in the living room, and then at bedtime he went into his room to watch a movie and fall asleep, and you tuck him in and kiss him and stuff, and then like 2 hours later you feel guilty about putting together the shelves so you go into your son’s bedroom and lay on him and cry because you love him so much and because you feel like a bad parent?

It’s been a long week. I know I’m not a bad parent, and I know A 100% was not upset about spending his Friday night playing Minecraft and Fortnite, and he was not feeling ignored in any way, but sometimes I remember that he’s about to be ten and I feel like I should be spending every single flipping moment with him that I can and smothering him with my love (which he already complains about 😉).

I’m ready to go back to not getting my period again and never ever ever being as emotionally ridiculous as I have been this week ever again.
